Cardassians are going directly into Federation or KDF not Dominion and are not selected as part of the Dominion because the vast majority of Cardassians still hold a bit of a grudge against the Dominion for the 'not so little' slaughter of millions of their citizens towards the end of the war. If there's one thing that Cardassians do well, it's holding a grudge! You'll also have seen on the odd occasion Cardassian officers in Federation uniform already. Cardassian military was also limited by the Treaty signed at the end of the War so they, even now are not in a position to become a faction in it's own right, just as the Romulans, who will take a century or two to recover from the Billions of lives lost only 40 years prior.
As for the number of missions, whilst it's known that there's 7 coming, whose to say there isn't another tranche on it's way in a couple of months time.
People should actually wait and play through the full content first before casting stones. I've throughly enjoyed what I've tested on Tribble, and that's not even the full package on there!
Truth.
Also... note that we didn't get EVERYTHING with the Expansions and Season updates in the past anyways. The way it works here is that a Season lasts more than just one shot, like in other games with Expansions. For example... WoW launches pretty much the entire thing in one go with each expansion right? STO does not. They get a large chunk out, and continue to add to it throughout a given time period. In that way they don't overload themselves, and are able to actually add content on a regular basis, unlike games that go all in with each Expansion.

How many times a month does a thread pop up here that starts with some variation of "I've been playing for years and the npcs in blah blah mission are way too hard and the mission is impossible"? Cause its a lot.
I remember having to help a fleetmate years ago when she had trouble making her D'Deridex survive in one of the LOR missions when Roms were new. I went in with my Dhelan and watched what she was doing, watching her buff cycles. She had done no repair actions at all. No HE, ET, ST, EPTS, ASIF. Nothing!
This was around 2012 when LOR was new and she was like me and was around for STO's launch. Years into the game, she never knew there were repair abilities. But once I taught her those basics, she was just fine.
I can only imagine how much worse it can get out there.
A quarter faction
One Unique mission for the Jem'hadar
Six new cross-faction missions
New level cap
A brand new lockbox where players can spend their hard earn cash or dilithium on.
Hate to be a downer, but am I the only one here who probably won't be running around with a new Jem'Hadar tomorrow?
I mean, I love the look of the remodelled DS9 and I'm not saying I won't play the new content - but I am not excited about the expansion and I can't find any motivation to create a Jem'Hadar.
If anything, I'll probably be a little disappointed initally as everyone in my usual social-circle will be off playing their new Jem'Hadar or Cardassian characters and I'll undoubtedly find myself the only non-Jem'Hadar player in most STFs I play.
nope. I'm underwhelmed by it. the ONE THING they could have done to make me buy the big expansion pack.. a few unlock tokens for bug hangars. thats right I would have thrown my wallet at Cryptic just to unlock a T5 hangar. I know I am not alone in that.and there is ZERO reason not to, because there is no way anyone can say the starter bug is worse than the T5 one
Well, as miserable as it may make me seem*, there is STILL nothing here that makes me want to make a Jem'Hadar char.
*Left, and was subsequently blocked from, an unofficial STO FB group for expressing how I am not excited about the expansion. Apparently that group only tolerates it's members praising the game.
I left them a while ago. I did not like the changes to the moderation there, myself.

Probably not empty, but these things do tend to become less busy once everyone's grinded the rep out.
Every current BZ with the exception of the Tzenkethi is always populated. I do a lot of BZ's and I never have trouble finding other players in either the Undine or Badlands. Dyson Ground is also a very busy place.
If the BZ isn't buggy, it will be populated.
That's not true about always populated. I have not been able to do any BZ's in the past 6 months due to them always being empty or almost completely empty every time I go in. I am lucky to see 2 or 3 other ships inside a BZ. As for Dyson ground that was dead last time I went down.
Sorry, but absolutely no way anything you just typed is true.
I don't usually like to just call peoples posts an outright lie.. but come on man. I do BZ's all the time (not the Tzenkethi) and while there are times that there might only be a few players on, I have never.. ever seen one empty.. ever. The notion that you have seen nothing but empty battle zones for 6 months is ridiculous. I live in these things and what you typed is just flat out completely false and you know it.
Unless you're going on 1 min after maintenance, going straight to the BZ.. spending 2 seconds there and logging off, there is no way what you just typed is true. The Battle Zones and Red Alerts remain the most consistently successful group content in STO.

There isn't a space bz coming, there is a sector space bz coming. Not the same thing. Also the years old Undine BZ is never empty.

Lol, nope, not even close to Eastern. I'm in the Black Hills of SD, Mountain Time zone.
MT is close to EST. So my main game time starts at 1am to 2AM for you moving into 3am to 5am onwards.
Probably not empty, but these things do tend to become less busy once everyone's grinded the rep out.

You are the one that is saying something outright false in saying they are always populated. I just went to the Voth sphere battle zone which as far as I am aware is the most popular one although I might be outdated on that. There is 1 instance open which is almost empty. There are not enough players to do it and no other instances to jump to as its that empty.
Next I went to the Voth ground and ended up with 2 players (including myself) and no other instance available to move to.
As you can see from my post timestamp this is nowhere near maintenance time.

I just finished a run in the Undine Zone 10 min ago.. lol.
Numbers are a little low right now, it's the middle of the night and a few hours before the server shutdown for VIL, but there are still enough players to finish the zone. There are currently 8 players in zone 1, I'll agree that it's no where near full, but it's also 12:30 AM US time and 8:30 in the morning 'across the pond.' It's also a few hours before a major update.
I didn't try the Ground Zone, so I'll take your word for that.
Is this usually the time you try? I go on occasionally at this time and obviously numbers are considerably lower, but I have never not been able to complete a zone or seen an instance where only 2 or 3 players were on as you said before.
You should try at 'peak times' if you're able, often times there are at least 1 or 2 instances that are completely full... you can make some really quick Dilithium especially in the Undine one because it can be finished so quickly. I do a lot of battle zones, and I right now is the most empty I have seen one in a while and it's still not nearly as bad as you made it out to be.
I stand by what I said before because it was completely and totally true. Battle Zones and Red Alerts are the only consistently populated group content in the game. The new BZ will be the same way provided it doesn't totally suck like the TZ Zone. Hopefully VIL brings enough people back that you can find more populated zones even at this time. We'll see.
Well this is just for fun poll as we wait for Victory of Life to Launch This is both a Serious and not Serious Thread. Feel free to put all your Jem Hadar and Cardassion Memes down.

I think I'm going to pick that up, I was hoping for a bundle deal on just the Jem ships, but haven't seen anything outside of that mega bundle which is more then I am willing to spend. The starter pack seems like a pretty solid deal.
hopefully you can point out if this is a serious topic so i can make my opinion because if it isn't there isn't any reason being on the thread. options 1 and 4, 2 and 3 and 5 and 6 are the same as each other as well.
It is whatever you want it to be friend. Make your opinion or don't your choice.

Seriously, I have never ever found an empty BZ. Like I mean, ever. Not all instances of Terran BZ are always fully populated, but never a problem, really. Even Tzenketki BZ is plenty populated, but often fails. The latter, however, is simply because it's inherently broken. Still fun for pew-pewing, though, And Undine BZ is, for the most part, fully populated.
Ready as will ever be. I'm only going to upgrade 1 set of Locators, and 1 set of weapons, though, for now; and wait for a (hopefully soon) coming upgrade weekend, for the rest.
I was hoping for a Zen discount deal; and/or a Spoonhead ship pack; or a Jem ship pack. Haven't seen anything announced yet, though. Slightly disappointed; but it could still happen.
I've merged some threads here guys. Let's try to keep everything as contained as possible to one thread.

Guess I'll have to go with the 'normal' J-H for the event since it will be way too long before I can afford the Vanguard pack. Still, that's fine. It should be an interesting experience, barring any game-breaking bugs that might pop up.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
you can get vanguard j-h from the starter pack($20 U.S.), which doesnt stop you from buying the full pack later on. Or i believe Vanguard J-H will be c-store as well so log into another toon and purchase that way. Or just play regular J-H. I pre-ordered the big bundle early and kinda regret it. Ships might be nice but the one im gonna main comes with the starter...
Lockouts for buying packs are usually different for the ingame store than website money purchases. A single ship will lock you from getting a bundle version and of course there were a lot of folk unable to get the recent starter pack due to lockouts.
I'm still hoping that there's going to be c-store option to buy just a jemhadar faction pack type of thing that basically is the bigger bundle minus the spoonhead stuff similar to how the ship based mega bundles split up into their various factions.

But there is a Gamma Starter Pack that's only $20USD that has one of the ships and a lot of the extras.
