Lockouts for buying packs are usually different for the ingame store than website money purchases. A single ship will lock you from getting a bundle version and of course there were a lot of folk unable to get the recent starter pack due to lockouts.
I'm still hoping that there's going to be c-store option to buy just a jemhadar faction pack type of thing that basically is the bigger bundle minus the spoonhead stuff similar to how the ship based mega bundles split up into their various factions.
I just know i bought the LoR starter and was later able to get the full pack during a pack sale, i don't see why this would be different...
Though now that i reread you are talking about buying the ships separate i think in which case that does lock out packs i believe. I bought the AoY starter and then the 31st century bundle so i am locked from the full AoY..
You might get a vanguard ship bundle in the c-store with a separate cardy bundle... The t-5s MIGHT be sold seperately but i dunno they were lockbox/promo(or was it lobi?) ships so...
Probably not empty, but these things do tend to become less busy once everyone's grinded the rep out.
Every current BZ with the exception of the Tzenkethi is always populated. I do a lot of BZ's and I never have trouble finding other players in either the Undine or Badlands. Dyson Ground is also a very busy place.
If the BZ isn't buggy, it will be populated.
That's not true about always populated. I have not been able to do any BZ's in the past 6 months due to them always being empty or almost completely empty every time I go in. I am lucky to see 2 or 3 other ships inside a BZ. As for Dyson ground that was dead last time I went down.
Sorry, but absolutely no way anything you just typed is true.
I don't usually like to just call peoples posts an outright lie.. but come on man. I do BZ's all the time (not the Tzenkethi) and while there are times that there might only be a few players on, I have never.. ever seen one empty.. ever. The notion that you have seen nothing but empty battle zones for 6 months is ridiculous. I live in these things and what you typed is just flat out completely false and you know it.
Unless you're going on 1 min after maintenance, going straight to the BZ.. spending 2 seconds there and logging off, there is no way what you just typed is true. The Battle Zones and Red Alerts remain the most consistently successful group content in STO.
Sorry, but absolutely no way anything you just typed is false.
Seriously, I have never ever found an empty BZ. Like I mean, ever. Not all instances of Terran BZ are always fully populated, but never a problem, really. Even Tzenketki BZ is plenty populated, but often fails. The latter, however, is simply because it's inherently broken. Still fun for pew-pewing, though, And Undine BZ is, for the most part, fully populated.
I would hardly call 6 or less active players with a total of 1 instance in the Undine BZ and even less in the other BZ's fully populated. To me that is near empty and pretty much dead. Good luck trying to run one of the none Undine BZ with that few people in the most popular one. What I said is not false I log into the game at the same time every day and I have not seen a fully populated BZ in a very long time. Sure they might get fully populated later in the day but I am not around then to see that and I have the screenshots from when I logged in today to prove they are not always fully populated.
Well, it's on...it's SO on. And after all the upgrades I'm tired...
Oh well, I'll mission well tomorrow.
Everything is now a shiny new mk XV epic gear on the starship and for the away team gear. And all it cost me was 300,000 refined dilithium (I got nothing left now), about 20 Phoenix Upgrades, 8 Romulan Upgrades and 3 of the ones you get from featured episodes.
Holy Q-like shenanigans Starfleet Command, I'm going to Risa for an impromptu holiday!
Well, after downloading the over 9GB prepatch, i'm now downloading another 9GB patch.
Second time this is happening here, downloading a huge prepatch and then downloading another huge regular patch on release day, may be they should take a closer look at the prepatching system...
Nothing like missing out on a good portion of an event, since i'm still downloading the patch instead of playing the game.
Hate to be a downer, but am I the only one here who probably won't be running around with a new Jem'Hadar tomorrow?
I mean, I love the look of the remodelled DS9 and I'm not saying I won't play the new content - but I am not excited about the expansion and I can't find any motivation to create a Jem'Hadar.
If anything, I'll probably be a little disappointed initally as everyone in my usual social-circle will be off playing their new Jem'Hadar or Cardassian characters and I'll undoubtedly find myself the only non-Jem'Hadar player in most STFs I play.
You will not be the only one not rolling a Jem'Hadar. I tried making one but never got past the first customization screen, there is simply nothing about them that is worth trying to build a persona for. In fact, the ones on DS9 had no personality at all beyond a boring rudimentary bullyboy schtick and I could find no inspiration whatsoever to build one around despite staring at the screen for a while. Maybe I will think of something before the end of the event, but I suspect even if it lasted a year that inspiration would not happen.

They just reveal the Gamma Recruitment event. Example reward is complete any 3 Admirality campaigns and get Odo's Flagship as an Admirality card.
It would be really nice if we got more detailed information on the unique rewards (i.e. numbers on the new traits, ability on the new Doff) so we could make some informed choices. I don't remember from the previous event, but I feel like you don't get to fully see the rewards until you get them.
If you mean the Delta recruit stuff, some of it was folded a bit but everything seemed to be accessible to snooping around the rewards on a name level anyway (though to find out what those names meant and other details googling was necessary).

I won't be either. I already have a Dominion toon as far as I'm concerned, and it's almost everything I want from a Dominion character, the most important being something the new faction doesn't have available: the captain is a Vorta. The only thing I need is a few more true Jem'Hadar boffs.
We'll get:
2 new soon to be dead queues
1 space battlezone that will be empty after two months
1 rep a lot of people won't care about
1 new fraction with the most limited character customization ever
1 new species fed & kdf (I won't ever touch because I really don't care about them)
3 or 4 new episodes
a bunch of ships with new mechanics
a bunch of standard ships
supposedly a new recruitment event that's in the tribble calendar but was never announced (so it might as well not happen for all we know)
Also we'll interact with a galactic power that like the kobali can get the kirk treatment for all I care and know from the new episodes.
The thing I'm actually looking forward to is using the jemmy carrier on all my characters. We'll see IF the event actually happens and IF it's worth grinding for.
You forgot:
- A bunch of new STO players playing Level 60 Jem Hadr characters with zero understanding of how a lot of the game works and getting upset when they go to near end game queues and get called out for making mistakes, and/or complaining to the STO Dev team about why they got an AFK Penalty in a near end game queue - with the follow up of "What does DPS mean anyway?"
Seems like an over reaction to me. I hope a bunch of new players do show up but I'm not expecting a ton. Anyways, on the flip side of that, experienced players will be spared the grind of rolling level 1 toons if they so desire. That's a plus.
Not having to grind up from level one sounds nice on the surface, but after doing it in Tera with the Reaper I can say from experience that it is not so great. It tends to leave a feeling of something missing diving into the endgame grind without the long tail of leveling.
Of course, in the case of the Jem'Hadar there really is nothing to identify with so it is just a generic pile of numbers play wise anyway, though for the number-cruncher type of player that plays only for the thrill of the hunt for the elusive DPS unicorn build that may be enough.

probably.
not sure if I will buy the pack but I'll make 1 JHD and finish up the starter mission at least to get the recruit device.
I am curious, what is the point of getting the recruit device if you do not intend on playing the character itself?

Only one that struggles to complete is the kethi BZ that most people ignore for that very reason.
