Just wondering:
- Any Recruitment Event for Jemmies?
- Any free character slot for users who have their slots full?
- Any giveaway/freebie for space-poor - modest users?
- Any other changes to the better?
I guess we will see some additional blogs going up today. There's a Gamma recruitement event listed in the calendar on Tribble. I haven't heard anything about additional slots of giveaways though but they usually give players at least one free character slot when a new recruitment event goes live.
I had high hopes for the announced progression system. But it seems this feature was either postponed or scrapped alltogether. A pity..
If the past is any indicator, then on Tuesday we will be mostly get server crashes and lag followed by 2-3 days of 'emergency patches.'
I'm not planning to really get to play much of it until Thursday or Friday, at that point I'll start trying the new content. The Gamma Quadrant BZ looks really interesting to me. Man I hope it works better then that Tzenkethi nightmare.
Hate to be a downer, but am I the only one here who probably won't be running around with a new Jem'Hadar tomorrow?
I mean, I love the look of the remodelled DS9 and I'm not saying I won't play the new content - but I am not excited about the expansion and I can't find any motivation to create a Jem'Hadar.
If anything, I'll probably be a little disappointed initally as everyone in my usual social-circle will be off playing their new Jem'Hadar or Cardassian characters and I'll undoubtedly find myself the only non-Jem'Hadar player in most STFs I play.
I'm gonna be running jemmy, either for Gamma Recruit or the tier 6 cross-faction unlocks of the jemmy ships.
Other than that, I'm still playing my romulan main...will have lots of Feddy ships to cycle into the card deck.
The usual launch day issues Bugs/Bugs/Bugs and more Bugs followed by several days of emergency patches followed by Playing Pew Pew in Bugships and everyone is happy and i'm even more happy playing Pew Pew in my Jem'Hadar Light Battlecruiser
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
We'll get:
2 new soon to be dead queues
1 space battlezone that will be empty after two months
1 rep a lot of people won't care about
1 new fraction with the most limited character customization ever
1 new species fed & kdf (I won't ever touch because I really don't care about them)
3 or 4 new episodes
a bunch of ships with new mechanics
a bunch of standard ships
supposedly a new recruitment event that's in the tribble calendar but was never announced (so it might as well not happen for all we know)
Also we'll interact with a galactic power that like the kobali can get the kirk treatment for all I care and know from the new episodes.
The thing I'm actually looking forward to is using the jemmy carrier on all my characters. We'll see IF the event actually happens and IF it's worth grinding for.
I’ll make a jem toon and I’ll use him for dil and ec farming. I’m looking forward to trying out the new stuff and missions. I’ll try out the ships but I was hoping there would of been a fed ship in there but I will make do with the jem ships just gonna wack on a discovery vanity shield and some discovery phasers make it look more fed like and hopefully a can change the jem features to look human aswell

Its 7 episodes to to start with, I doubt very much the space battlezone will be empty in a month as long as the rewards are good.

No, you won't be the only one. I'll go ahead and make one because it'll be the only way to access the new origin content and there will likely be a Gamma Recruit event with some unique rewards associated with it, but my existing five characters can already be a grind to cycle through and I am not looking forward to adding another. At least my soloed KDF fleet will get some relief on the maddening dilithium requirements for the colony projects.

Depends on how frequently the sector alerts pop. After finishing the episodes there's little reason to hang around in the GQ, especially since there's not even a social zone. And if you have extended downtimes of sitting around in secort space just waiting for an alert to pop you might as well do a queue with gamma marks (which will probably be added to the regular red alerts in the future as well) and leave the gamma quadrant wait zone.

No, there are no non jem'hadar options in the character creator for them
We'll get days if not weeks of bugs, lag, crashing and emergency patching (remember delta rising?) it'll be a waste of time to even attempt to log in for at least a week
Probably not empty, but these things do tend to become less busy once everyone's grinded the rep out.
Every current BZ with the exception of the Tzenkethi is always populated. I do a lot of BZ's and I never have trouble finding other players in either the Undine or Badlands. Dyson Ground is also a very busy place.

Gamma BZ queues will pop for a single person, but will wait for others to queue. I think it's a minute or two wait from my experience testing.

Yup...learned with LOR...not worth spending time on the game the first couple of days at all. Probably, try after the maintenance on Thursday and hope I don't have to patch again on Friday.

Content that people will rush to like parched desert wanderers running towards an oasis only to burn out on it quickly from over playing and then buzzards circling over head as the rush wears off.
...and hopefully a can change the jem features to look human aswell
The Jem'Hadar are a genetically-engineered species, not naturally-occurring. They don't interbreed with other sapient species - there's good reason to believe they can't, as they seem to reproduce in the same fashion as lizards and thus lack the requisite equipment to, ah, interface with most hominids.
So, no, you can't make a "human-featured" Jem. That would be truly outrageous!
I'll probably wander a character through the story, rep will be done at somepoint depending on how broken things are. Might make a jem if there's a recruitment but feeling slightly burned out due to the event overload the games had recently.
Back of my mind is the niggling thought that the budget was blown getting so many ds9 cast members in.
Did they kill the personal endeavour thing on tribble or is it actually going to be added?
The emptiness of the queues will depend on if they decide to make them a waste of space by adding the marks into the choice list. Certainly if thats done before the end of the summer event will mean a lot of alts won't have to step foot in them.
Not hugely enthused about VIL overall so I may just focus instead on PS4's delta recruits arriving the same day.

They just reveal the Gamma Recruitment event. Example reward is complete any 3 Admirality campaigns and get Odo's Flagship as an Admirality card.

It would be really nice if we got more detailed information on the unique rewards (i.e. numbers on the new traits, ability on the new Doff) so we could make some informed choices. I don't remember from the previous event, but I feel like you don't get to fully see the rewards until you get them.
So we get 1 free toon slot, new recruitment event... and other, less important things
I'm prepared - still got 21 featured episode weekly rewards boxes and 10 1/4 spec point boxes in my account bank, and some marks boxes from endavours...

Do the details or numbers really matter? Sure you'll have to invest time in getting the bonuses and some players may think the reward:time ratio is lackluster. For example I personally don't see a use for improved versions of traits that I am unlikely ever to activate, but that's not going to stop me from working on the specializations. And are the stats on Odo's flagship going to stop me from doing admiralty? Of course not. My attitude is that they're just bonuses for playing the game that I can use or not use at leisure.

Make informed choices on what exactly? You get the rewards as you satisfy the objectives, you do not get to chose them!

Well...lets take a closer look at what they DID give us.....(EDIT just got done comparing with Temporal Recruit rewards)
Reach Level 4 in any six Duty Officer Commendation Categories:
Epic Jem’Hadar Warfare Specialist Duty Officer
That should read: Rank 4. Rank 4 is the top level on CXP.
This means: FINISH 6 DOFF Categories (Same on Temporal Recruit)
Reach Level 10 in any three Admiralty Campaigns:
+1 Admiralty Assignment Slot
Admiralty Ship: Odo’s Flagship
Level 10 is the top level on Admiralty Campaigns.
This means: FINISH 3 Admiralty Campaigns. (Same on Temporal Recruit)
Spend a total of 90 Specialization Points:
Improved Secondary Specialization Traits
Improved Demolition Teams
Improved Arrest
Improved Unconventional Tactics
Full Specialization tree uses 30 Specialization points.
This means: FINISH 3 full Specialization Trees. (Same on Temporal Recruit)
OR finish 2 Full Specializations and BOTH Secondary.
Yeah, you are gonna be working this.
Keep your eyes peeled for various Events and/or Tokens that give extra CXP, Specialization Points, etc.
I am not sure if they have anything to speed up Admiralty, yet. No idea what happens with Rep or R&D.

Most likely.
Not sure if this counts but every single Jem'Hadar character gets a free modified Tier 5 Jem'Hadar attack ship.
