This game feels boring... and uninspired.

For True boredom , try EVE online.

Imagine making a charactar , and never using it. No away teams, no costumes. There was a captains quarters where he could sit around and do nothing, but only 3% of the player base used it, so they're removing it.

Imagine combat on auto pilot. Target enemy. Press the weapons button, stand back and watch.

A yawnfest if there ever was one.

But all those spread sheets to maintain. There is so much fun in that....

Everyone (I think!) loves having fun. It's just that the definition of having fun differs from person to person. And no fun, as long as it doesn't harms others, is wrong.

It's a nice notion...too bad the world doesn't want to agree with you. From the religious right who tells you that sex is evil to the for your own good left who tells you that you can't drink soda, the notion of do what you like as long you hurt nobody else is LONG gone. And even in this game, we have people who tell DPSers to stay out of queues because it ruins their fun and DPSers telling casuals to stay out of their queues because it ruins their fun...and let's not forget the REAL PvP of this game, the exchange and what vitriol that brings up from people without any EC complaining that people should sell stuff to them for less than what the market is willing to pay because if they can't afford whatever it is they want, it's not fair. As sad as it is, that notion, in this game and even in the real world is long gone.

I can't control what others do and don't do. So - I just do what I think is the best. That's we all can do, really, and it comes down to each individual, as to how they decide to act and treat others. :3

This is so true. We are all responsible only for what we do, not for the actions of others.

If something ceases to be fun, I cease to play it.

STO has never been boring or uninspiring to me.
Now a LTS and loving it.

Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.

    Agreed.
    Fun is rather subjective; no?

It has always baffled me as to why some folks continuously point out to others why they shouldn't be having fun, when they really have no idea what constitutes enjoyment for others. Unfortunately, this forum and others like it, are full of such people.

    Live and let live.

A space man is only worth the sum of his space possessions.

STO is an MMO and the point of any MMO is to accumulate as much stuff as possible and to have more than others.

I just have fun, regardless of how much stuff one has or does not have.

And die with a ton of unused things accumulated and 150 cats.

I am surprised this thread is still going. If the OP feels strongly enough he/she has to come in here and express his/her discontent publicly, then why continue playing STO? There are things I never do any more because I find them not as much fun as they used to be. I see no good reason to come in here and post about them. Y'all don't need to be bothered with my petty concerns, do Y'all? Didn't think so.

I do see how someone whose primary motivation is wanting attention from others would post something here.

Go outside and play, OP. Go offer assistance to others. Join a rock band. Clean the house. Learn to be a cordon bleu chef. Lots of things to do which do not require interaction with this game. Or these forums. Whenever I am bored, if I truthful with myself, I have to state I created the condition by spending too much time too focused on too small an area of interest.

In short, take a break from STO by doing something else. And while I am suggesting this, I also recommend taking a break from any other MMO the OP might be playing as well.
Nope. It ain't Discovery. Ain't Picard, either. It's you.

It's still going, because people won't let it die. :confounded:
