I'm sure thats not a big news to anyone here. Most public queues are dead, even when looking at existing, already active Q you hardly see more than 10-15 up at anytime. With season 13 they are balancing space powers, introducing new "competitive" queues. Is there any thought on reviving all those dead q. Just as an exemple, this afternoon I wanted to do infected space normal and khitomer space normal to finish a related accolade. Spend 2 hours waiting for them to pop, no dice, nothing, nada. Infected was almost started, unfortunatly the fifth person never clicked engage and it never started.
This is just a quick exemple, there are way more inactive queues than active one. Cryptic should think of something to have more participation, incentive that would have ppl wanting to use them. As it is now, you don't have to do any queues to get the marks needed for the reputation, only need to do Tholian red alert and Borg red alert and you can get all the marks you need, you don't even need to do advanced queues to get those elite reputation marks, just turn in regular mark. As it is now the content is so restricted its getting real boring since you can only get a few missions to pop.
Of course some will say you could always make private rooms but even than, you don't see those mission in private room either, and with all the channel I'm on I hardly ever see them created and when I do see some of those rarely use queue pop more often than not ppl cancel them because nobody queue up for them.
Cryptic get your head out of your a**es and do something about it. Stop making new missions people use a few times at the beginning than never use again, do something so people want to go in them and actually use them.

Pretty much this. And there have been many... Many... MANY debates on the forums on how to solve the problem. Some of which just boil down to "Make universal marks so I can just grind Infected."
normal text = me speaking as fellow formite
colored text = mod mode
2. Remove the normal. Advance and elite division .. nobody follows it anyways and the list looks more empty due to it.
3. Put on rotation on queues and have only a few active at anytime..
Create a new system... because the current one isn't working. I often want to do the old Borg stf but most people have those rep and don't need the marks. The queues are always empty so I rarely queue up.
For 1 I would suggest to add a Challenge Checklist to Private Queues so that those players that need a challenge can have as much of a challenge as they think they can handle. So if a team thinks they can handle enemies with buffed hull, shields, damage, and control effects and the team is debuffed with reduced hull, shields, and decreased control resistance, then they should be able to have the challenge they want.
Thing is, cryptic really has no idea how to size that carrot properly. They've tried and failed on more than one occasion and it really dosen't like seem that they're getting the hang of it.
And the next big thing that will add to the dead queue problem is also right around the corner, nerfs across the board with this "rebalancing".
It's the usual cryptic practice, just keep piling stuff ontop and eventually the broken thing on the bottom will fade into oblivion.
Shhhh, people 'round here don't take kindly to people pointing out how easy mode STO is. They won't be happy when they feel they aren't entitled to everything.

I find more sad than hilarious how some queues are extremely overpaying while others are barely worth the time and "effort".

Hiding the problem wont make it go away, trust me. Queues will be just as dead and ppl will cry, on good accounts, that they want the numbers back in.
Then you really havent played many MMOs I take it. In fact, STO is the worse out there when it comes to time spent in-game vs reward.
@OP you are wasting your time. In fact, in developers eyes, this is not a problem, or better said not their problem. They just blame the players. In fact I've said this long time ago, that this game are making its not for their players, but for themselfs and some rather vocal masochists minority, reddit ppl included. Its mind boggling actually. I've never encountered this mindset in any other games. In fact, in a few other games developers express that they make the game for their players/fans, not the other way around... Its a sad fact for STO wich wont change until the current mind set, wich started with Delta Raising, wont change aswell. And queues will stay dead becouse the developers of this game would rather have ppl not play their content then actually have a healty and fun game enviroment like it was pre-DR. Heck in others games, if content wasnt played, like it happened with past reputations, heads would roll, company would make changes as such and so on. But here nope, everything is fine, and they do what they are doing like there isnt any problems at all.
So again, queues will stay dead becouse its actually developers intent, really.
i support the idea of random dropchances. they could even make it to get you 100% chance if you didnt got it in a x number of runs
In my opinion that would defeat the purpose. People need to (re)learn that you can't have - or need - everything. Wether you get your drop after two runs or two hundred or even two thousand, it keeps you trying until you get it which populates the queues. If people run for two weeks straight and burn out on STO it's their own fault. If you just try two times a week or even just once and a lot of people do this the queues will be played. They should add a unique piece to each queue like we had back in the day - shield, engines, deflector (maybe warp core if four thematic queues exist) for space, armour, weapon and shield for ground. Each unlocks an accolade and title and costume - it wouldn't hurt making the queues worth playing again so they are neither unbeatable nor one-minute-rushfests.

1. Remove private queue.
No thank you
2. Remove the normal. Advance and elite division .. nobody follows it anyways and the list looks more empty due to it.
......uhhh...Have you gone full potato ?... - If anything we need Elites for ALL queues
3. Put on rotation on queues and have only a few active at anytime..
Bonus Rotation - Yes --- Limiting the choice of queues available at any given time - This is amongst the worse ideas I've ever read on here.

Never go full potato.
"Nope, thunder. You're wrong. That Queue over there has green Bad Guys. This one over here has blue Bad Guys. See? They're different. And this one gives Blue Widgets and Blue Coins for prizes. The other one gives Green Widgets and Green Coins for prizes. And if you play through this one a bazillion times, you'll also get a whole five Dilithium! Wait! There's more! We'll also throw in a chance to get some unique Rep System specific gear for your ship. So you can be just like everyone else who plays this game!
Who says Cryptic knows doodlely squat about fun, hunh?"
The idea for the Rep System is sound. But it has been used to death. The Dev Team have grown very comfortable with taking the path of least resistance to "new content". Podcasts and Live AMAs on these are just marketing. Which isn't working based upon the numbers shown in the Queues. So naturally, they're going to remove the numbers and wait times from player's view. Because this is the path of least resistance to "fixing" the dead queues.
Doing anything else would require creativity, intelligent game design, and effort. Three things which are in very short supply currently at Cryptic. I propose repairing the dead Queues in an alternate fashion - Fire the whole current Dev Team en masse and hire some kids fresh out of school who know nothing at all about "trends, sales goals" that sorta stuff. Base the new Dev Team's paychecks on a commission basis. If more people play something one of them worked on, then that Dev gets a bigger paycheck than the others. And if someone else on the team tries to copy/paste that success, fire them on the spot. Strongly encourage a sense of competition among the Devs by having the playerbase vote on which content they like the most. Which awards more cash to the winning Dev.
Lastly, require the Devs to spend a minimum of four hours a week playing STO on Holodeck. Remove their access to Tribble entirely except as observers. Make them play the same crappy content we have to put up with, instead of the game they wish they are designing.
*Endorses not going full potato.

> Well, with the introduction of the new pve queue UI currently live on Tribble you will no longer be able to see how empty the queues are or how long you will have to wait on average. Out of sight, out of mind is the new credo.
This means even less people will que up and make the current situation worse.
If you can't be bother to click "I'd like to do this" then I guess you won't be doing it. People who run a "I'm not signing up unless there's already 3+ people waiting" policy aren't actually the big help they think they are...
