Should they Give Liberated Borg option to players who spend more then 500 dollars into the game?

I would like to see them make it possible to unlock the Liberated Borg as a loyality reward for buying stuff for zen and spending more then 500 dollars in the game itself, by steam wallet or give the option to buy a lifetime subscription with steam wallet.

This is a bit of a muddy area, as how do you determine how much someone actually spent in the game? By now I probably spent the equivalent of $500 in the game over my entire STO career... and most of it was via dilithium exchange. Major chunks for me were the Delta and Temporal packs, followed by TOS and DS9 bundles, various ships, and dang near the entire wardrobe of costumes. So... would it be ACTUAL money that a player put into the game, or base it on C-Store purchases alone?

You see where I'm coming from on this?

No, and for the same reason there shouldn't be a Cooperative Faction: Liberated Borg is an LTS perk and should stay that way.

I would say give it as a Veteran Reward, If you subscribed for 600 days, then you paid as much for your subscription as someone that bought the LTS. The only difference is the Lifer bought bought it all at once while the Subscriber bought it over a period of time. Besides it would be a nice gift for those monthly subscribers that got the last Veteran Rewards the hard way.

While I've said before that I wouldn't support a Cooperative faction because playable Borg should remain exclusive to lifers, my main argument for that was that it's something nice to have for people who help keep the game going by spending large amounts of money on it.

Spending the same amount of money you would spend on a dozen complete PC games satisfies that criterion so I wouldn't be opposed to it if they did this.

Oh and edit: I'm surprised to see I'm the first one who voted 'yes' btw :)

If you already spend 500 $, why not just spend another few $ to unlock? Or are you broke now?

At best, they should disallow people that spend this much money on this game to play Ferengi, because they clearly don't have the lobes for it.

Steam takes a cut so 30% off $300 is probably why its not an option there.

It is a LTS perk and there aren't that many perks which are locked into the LTS over simply being a vet. Stipend is the other noticeable one and thats slowly losing it's value as more ships come along and their prices increase.

Seriously if you spent $500 or more, you already could have just purchased the lifetime subscription and got a monthly zen allowance of 500z/month to offset some of the extra $200+ of zen purchases you did. At some point you have to realize you made a bad decision in not buying the LTS in the first place.

Thing is, zen is easy to buy, I can do that easy with steam wallet or even an arc card. But to subscripb or to buy the lifetime you have to have something like a debitcard or credit card to buy it. No other means to buy the subscription from and I don't think they create prepaid subscription cards for sto anymore so not able to do it that way. I could get ahold of the xbox one or ps4 version of the subscription since they have means to pay for that with prepaid point cards which iritates me since there is not an option like that for the pc versione. Which is reason why I want to see them put it on steam is because that would give me one way to possibly by it. Another thing they need to do is allow the arc cards to go towards a lifetime sub or subscription and not just zen. This would be another thing they could do. But point is, not everyone has a credit card or debit card or has paypal or even a bank account. I would like to get the lifetime subscription but I need the means to do it. Is it too much to ask to have the means to get the lifetime sub. So yes they need to either give the arc prepaid cards the ability to go towards subscription or add the option to buy lifetime sub from Steam.

Banks offer gift cards that can be used as credit cards. Might want to check in to that with your local bank cause I don't think they require an account.

Ever consider saving that money that you're using to buy Zen and set it aside for an LTS? Put it on a gift card and buy your LTS directly through the website.

Except it is not really a sub. After all, you can't have subs in a F2P game. The PC version of STO is Freemium not F2P. Although, it is not as restrictive as some Freemium MMOs like SWTOR.

I have spent $965,900,756.80 dollars on this game, I have proof, unfortunately I was TRIBBLE by the Smurfs and they have the proof, I called in Scooby and the gang to help get it back, but so far they have been in their mystery machine with music blaring and a whole lot of smoke coming from the seams of the van.

I would not be cross if the Lifer version of Liberated Borg was upgraded to Liberated Borg Alien instead of Liberated Borg Human/Klingon/Romulan and the other option gave the current version.

I would support this as I've spent god-knows how much! However OP, why are you even asking to have LTS via Steam!? It's a quick secure purchase on via the Arc STO website. It's not like you would get any extra benefits buying via Steam!!

UGH! Not the Freemium argument. The game by Cryptic's and by the classification of all the other gaming websites is F2P and it is by mine.

LTS rewards are exactly that. Rewards for those who purchase a lifetime subscription. LTS rewards should never be given to anyone, for any reason, other than those who purchase a lifetime subscription. Spend $5,000.00, heck spend $500,000.00, unless a chunk of that was spent to purchase a LTS, then no, you should not get anything that is an LTS exclusive item/benefit.

    LTS and loving it.

    OP,

I have been thinking about your post all day and I finally figured out why it was bothering me. Let me ask you this, do you feel special that you spent money on the game? Do you feel that you did not get your $500 dollars worth of zen for it? Do you sign a different TOS then those who have spent no money in the game?

I have spent more then you have and I have a LTS, I am not expecting Cryptic to kiss my butt over it.

There is already almost nothing making the LTS worth while at this point (not talking about people who have had it for years and already gotten worth out of it.) Removing things and making them more easily available would further diminish the already unattractive option of buying a Lifetime Membership.

The LTS has to come with unique perks or it doesn't work at all.

I really do not care either way, but you should be aware of STO being free and being advertised as such. Any investment you place into STO is your voluntary decision and does not in any way elevate you over the other players. The only reason subs and LTS hold any kind of reward at all are legacy reasons because the game was subscription based five years ago (I was a player back then).

In my opinion you should either put every option there is as a specific unlock in the store or let the legacy stuff to the people who used the means to get it, not unlock anything because lotsa moneys went somewhere

That seems extremely weird. Most MMOs go from a Subscription model to F2P or Freemium model while it is extremely odd to go from a F2P model to Subscription or Freemium model. STO's veteran rewards are far better than Neverwinter's VIP rewards.

Not seeing any evidence of Neverwinter having a Lifetime Subscription. Neverwinter has quite a few packs that cost between $20 to $200, but they are similar to our packs.
