Unfortunately, while it could move into a future Phoenix Prize Pack in the Very Rare category, it will most likely drop as a Mk XIII Rare item when we get it.

The Agony Field Rifle, Crystal Radiation Projector, Cochrane Shotgun, and Crystalline Energy Torpedo Launcher were all Mk XIII Rare items when they were available as an Event reward so I doubt the Fangs will be any different. The only question is will it follow the Sompek Lightning as an account reward or will it be a character reward like every other Event reward besides the ships.

I was able to get myself to do the breach event with three toons the last time. I have ten. It was a mistake.

I probably cut it down to one this time. It is not as if I would not like STO or anything but do the same stuff 14 times the next three weeks throws a bad light at my hobby and my relationship with it. If the mission would be more fun it would make things easier but not the way it is atm.

No matter the reward but I cut back on it.

The trench run was my favorite part. I'll probably still try the revamp. I don't care for Voth Weaponry, or even the Voth in general. So I don't know if I'll complete the Event grind or not.

the first part is very Star Wars and not star trek.

The Defiant classes used to zip along larger ships when they made attack or defense runs.

I limit myself to two toons per day. You get the reward on two toons and start collecting for the next event on two other ones and with how things get staggered, you can get a good amount of dil spread around and have each of your toon have some of the nicer unique stuff so they stand apart.

I understand and yea. A friend of mine returned after two years break. Those events are quiet nice to grab some specific marks as well. Thanks for reminder. :)

I'm really saddened they've shortened this. It was one of my all time favourite queues. I freely admit I'm a sadis.t, and I love queues that are lengthy. Yes they've listened and made it 'alt-friendly' but I really do wish they would reinstate the original version with improved rewards.

Perhaps it's time Cryptic reintroduced hourly events again with all the Epic length STF's in rotation.

Same, I like a lengthy quest. Just as I enjoy lengthy films and books. Guess I am the oddball, since fast paced is not my thing.

    Exact wording from the Blog:

'Now players will be able to follow a shortened path, complete just the engineering room and the core room, and escape before the Voth Fortress Ship blows up.

We have also addressed some quality of life issues, implemented better path communication, and objective adjustments with an eye towards a faster completion time.'
Remains to be seen what that actually means when it's released.

Ok then I'll respond to a time-related post.
It's not really about time for me. I had no problem with the length of the mission last year (did it on all my toons, didn't get "event fatigue" or whatever people call it), only the lack of properly-scaled rewards. If I can get the same reward/time ratio as in CCA/ISA, I'll happily run however long missions they care to make.

Too bad nothing else ever gets close.
I think it'll be a lot easier to complete this mission on multiple characters now, if that description is accurate. The initial run + the hangar bay part combined took quite some time. If by 'core room' they mean the one at the very end (not the one with three sub cores) and the engineering room is supposed to be the one with the Citadel Dread in it, then it will probably be significantly shorter.
Yes, well the rooms weren't named in the mission and the blog didn't specify what rooms the names they mention refer to. So it remains to be seen which rooms there actually are when it's released. My understanding was that "engineering" is the annoying teleporting magic sub reactor room and the "core" is the main magic reactor room.

Similarly, remains to be seen what they mean by shorter path. We had a shorter path last year when people found the hole in the invisible wall and that was "fixed" very quickly.
I do hope that they'll give us the full mission after the event is over though. The original mission was really enjoyable, not if you have to do it 14 times within a short period on multiple characters of course, but as a normal non-event queue I'd prefer the original over the very short version.
I'd rather take the original original mission (before there was an event at all, with the split-up to take down nodes outside instead of a path lined with invisible walls). But it's unlikely. It's probably gonna be the new short version.

Though it's probably all the same, no version would likely get any significant playerbase after the event is over. Nothing longer than CCA/ISA ever does, thanks to the lopsided reward structure.

I only get all the unlocks for my two main toons. For the rest, I'll wait for another dil draining reward event since it's not too bad to get the event unlocks there.

I kinda miss the very first Breach iteration, where you could go everywhere all over the Fortress ship in the first phase. I wonder how they shortened it again (assuming it's not a copy-paste from the last time where you only had one path possible in the first phase).

Not interested, I have more then enough dilithium to refine right now and that is my focus since you can only do 8/9k a day per character. Item/toon wise I have enough to upgrade as it is, I don't need more.

Side Note: Trench run was the fun part.

I would guess that they've cut the trench run out, and we start at the 'Breach' itself. They seriously need to rethink this because they've cut out half the fun.

It's so grinds my gears that people complain of 'grind', when every game IS grind, sheeeesh! This game is one of the least grind oriented I've ever played, yet those who play sports games or shooters (which are short games) who complain of grind, don't realise this. Removing all sense of adventure is really hurting this game now. No exploration, 1 minute STF's and instant-gratification. Next they'll get rid of Sector Space because people can't wait 20 seconds to get to a planet that in Canon would take weeks/months to get to.

What I'd like to see is the full version (or single trench version from last time) made available with rewards similar to Sompek after multiple rounds. Something that reflects "I'm gonna be at this for 30+ minutes instead of doing 18 ISAs..."

That's a matter of opinion. Some will always prefer ships or admiralty cards while others will prefer weapons.
Personally i am not into melee weapons.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Of course it is. I don't think anyone assumed that I was sharing some undeniable truth here.

Which means they're wrong in their assumption, cause I mean, of course it is much better than a ship :p

Or, keep the longer Mission for regular use and only use shorter Missions for these Events.

    I propose two versions:
    1. The breech old style with double the vouchers (Longer mission, but double reward)
    2. The breech New Style with regular vouchers. (Shorter mission, but regular reward)

Would be nice to see the last year's version as a normal stf

I did the last Breach Event on 9 of my toons. Six were able to complete it with the other 3 only a few runs shy of completion. I'll run it again with them this time as well. Should be able to finish all 9, if the Event has been shortened.

I enjoyed the previous version of The Breach, but it was a real slog trying to complete it on Alts without an Account Unlock. Longer Events would be fine, if the reward was an Account Unlock like the Sompek Event.

Since The Breach is returning as a permanent queue, I'd enjoy seeing the longer missions as options. Maybe this new version for Normal, the previous version for Advanced, and the original even longer version for Elite.

I'll probably be skipping it myself. I don't really fancy doing the same mission 112 times to get the rewards on my alts. And that is not counting the alts I don't want to play. If it is account wide unlocks, I'd be happy to do it on one, but to do it on all alts is far to much of a chore.

breach isn't bad, but since it's not an account wide unlock, and it takes roughly 10-15 minutes average, its not very altable. At least not after Winter event folowed by Omega, not iin the mood for it annymore for all alts. Kinda sucks but it saves time, gives me a bit more fun ingame and save storage space on alts.

If we count in the 50k from the event reward, it has. 4051 dil per run (on Normal, slightly more on Advanced or Elite). Except that's still nowhere near enough.

A typical pug CCA takes 1-2 minutes and gives 720 dil. If we say 2 minutes, that's 360 dil/min. A 30 minute mission would have to give 10,800 dil per run to be competitive. They could more than double the event reward and it would still lose to CCA.

We'll see how long the new version takes to run. If they got it down to 11 minutes it'll be competitive...for the 14 days of the main event. At 7 minutes, it will remain competitive for the extra days you can turn in a spare token. There's no hope of making it competitive after the event without revamping the reward structure.

I wasn't talking about the event. I was saying if the previous single trench version were made permanently available, with a crafting good box + dil for EVERY SINGLE STAGE you clear (trench, hangers, Citadel, cores, reactor) and a small pat on the back for getting out alive at the end, THEN it'd be something that stands up well as fun and rewarding proportionate to the time.

5 loot boxes and 8000 dilithium for a full run would be the PERFECT "I just want to log in and cycle dilithium on this character" activity for me.

I played it for fun 3-4 times. I have different ships after all. But I wasn't giggling anymore on the 25th run. And it was certainly not fun enough to do the 84 times in succession to it would have taken to push my whole stable thought to the card.

SO happy that was a Phoenix box reward at an achievable tier.

I will do it on my main toon. Depending on how short it is to run now, I might do it on a 2nd (3rd?) toon. But, for sure, not doing it on all 8 of 'em. Just hope the weapon thingy is account unlocked so I don't have to decide which toons 'need' to have it.

Killing the Crystaline Entity is the only event that's do-able 8 times a day. People rock that snowflake! ;)

I did it, back when, cuz I needed the Marks and vhose implant thingies. Now I no longer do. I'll probably run it a few times, but a Voth melee weapons?! C'mon! I'd rather they'd given us the extra Admiralty card.

EDIT: Or that Bulwark 'sideways' torpedo. Yeah, I'd gone for that.
