Here she is in action: "Again from the same discord server"
Gotta love how this pic demonstrates what I say about it being a vastly idiotic idea to have a playable Borg Cube!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Ya know, that was my first guess... but the true horror of this being a real thing was too much for my brain.

Honestly, I'm hesitant for them to ever introduce T7 ships. I'd really hate for us to reach a point where the "end game" ships that people have being using possibly for years at this point are now completely obsolete and a genuine detriment to use anymore.
Because right now? I don't think we're their. I can hope into a T5 and while it may not be quite as powerful nor as efficient as a T6, there's essentially zero content that it can't tackle. The more the power creeps up, however, the closer we come to the point where that is no longer the case.
What would be the point of a T7 anyway? T6 already includes specialist seating, a trait, an extra console slot, and an extra BOFF seat. What would a T7 even offer that works? There doesn't seem to really be a need for it and would just create another layer of work with having to update all T6 ships into T7.
true. you can always just add new specialist tree and made new ships for that tree.
with T5 there was limitation and after some time you could only make visually different ships but statistics would be similar. with T6 you can make as much new ships as you want as long as you add new specialzation trees with no need for T7 or something like that. so there is no logic why would they want new tier of ships. yes i know its fake but for people asking about T7.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I'm not so sure there are a lot of folks out there who would be willing (or can afford) to pay $50 bucks a pop for a single ship.
(you know these ain't gonna be cheap)
Of course, taking out a loan to play a MMO is probably going to be encouraged under the leadership of our new president.
So what the hell, sign me up.
"Of course, taking out a loan to play a MMO is probably going to be encouraged under the leadership of our new president."
As opposed to those who voted for the current POTUS, who actually need a loan to afford a $50.00 ship...
Obviously a hoax. If they ever try selling us ships for more than 30 dollars a pop, people are going to start leaving.
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
That wasn't a C store ship, nor was it cryptic selling you one. that was a transaction with another player which you obtained the resources for with cash.

I agree with a lot of others here, I put too much time and money into my large fleet of T6 ships, it's far too early to introduce T7 ships, and I surely hope they don't, at least for a couple more years.... Anyway, funny prank.
@captainoblivous: In Battlestar Galactica Online, I remember (when I used to play that game) you could use a Battlestar for a limited time. It was the Pegasus, not the Galactica, but still a Battlestar nonetheless.

what like how we felt when they brought out the T6 ships? then to add insult to injury they have the cheek to charge us to upgrade T5 ships we spent money on.
so basically we had to pay zen on ships we had already bought with zen that were top tier before and it didn't even bring them up to the new top tier standards.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

And with you saying that, we're back to 'Square One' (hmm, dibs on that name for my first T7 Borg Cube). Seriously, no need to get upset about it again; T7 won't be there for a long time, if ever. T6, the way I understand it, was primarily a one-time thing, basically to incite people to spend on Upgrades and all. In many ways, I bet the transition to T6 was as painful for Cryptic as it was to many players. But in the context of where the game was, I think it had to be done.
The OP is reputable an a esteem member of the community. Why would he paintshop that announcement.
I would check the discord server for further information too. The cube is one of the last ships PWE wanted to introduce but I imagine it might be a lockbox or R&D pack....we will see.
Lib borg ships or faction is good. After this joke it got me realizing how bad i would love a borg ship or a faction that could have them. Id start a lib borg capt, with a lib borg crew, and get the ship to go with them. Maybe someday they can manage a ship or two that won't necessarily be "OP" or be as "OP" as the T6 temporal light cruiser. Maybe a special event or charity drive or something so the game wouldn't be Borg Trek Online. The ground work already exists for a lib borg faction.
Here's were I stand on the topic: T7 ships no no no no no no, please no...
Borg ships on the other hand...
Well there's the Corporative Borg that we encounter in one the Iconian War story arc??? I see that/those being playable ships in perhaps a future expansion of STO in the way future... Season 20+ or Expansion 8+
Edit: But it seems it was just a practicaljokegonepractical from the private discord people!
No no no, Galactica is a tier 6 at best, no PEGASUS is tier 7. Lee was a moron for sacrificing Pegasus. Should of held back, laid down cover fire told his dad to abandon the Big G and then esacaped in Pegasus.
I mean really, sacrifice the ship that with the proper materials can create viper mk 7s? REALLY? Hell could of just renamed Pegasus Galactica in honor of the former ship Called it a day.

it's hard enough working out which is the bow on those Breen fighters. Try rock'n'roll in a tactical cube while a battle is going on around you and then work out which way your ship is supposed to be pointing lol. Would be fun drunk, I suppose.
They won't release T7 ships until 1) they have released T6 versions of all of the others and 2) there is some fancy new mechanic in place that the T6 ships can't be retrofitted with.

it would certainly have softened the blow if they had given a free T5-U upgrade and a paid upgrade to full T6 level, I would have even been happy to pay to upgrade many of the free event ships I had to T6 but there was no way I will ever pay to upgrade to T5-U for ships I had already paid for once without the assurance of a full upgrade to T6.
sure they came out with that "too much work" rubbish as an excuse but you cant tell me it would have been all that much more work to apply a T6 upgrade as opposed to a T5-U one, I just don't buy it.
not that I am worried about it as I know at this point its just a gag, I just couldn't let that "completely obsolete" comment go without pointing out that it has been done before.

I'll need a new loan for the ship.
