My forum single-issue of rage: Make the Proton Experimental Weapon go for subsystem targetting!
You get burnt out doing the "Fastest Game On Ice" which should generally take about 3 minutes per day once you are proficient at it?
I mean, I could see that happening back when the ship only was character unlock and you had to do it on everyone you wanted the ship on, sure. But now when it's account unlock so you only have to do it on one? Not so much.
Wouldn't it be easier to launch a photon torpedo from your ship at a frozen lake, then beam down and collect whatever got blown onto the surface?
Can I haz ur stuffs?
One 3 minute ice race per day now. For an all-character unlock, including any future characters that you create 5 years from now.

As for those expressing some burnout, I know what you mean. I haven't seriously played since before the Crystalline event started and even with it over I still find myself not seriously playing. Oh, I still log in daily so the metrics would show I'm a "happy customer", but all I'm doing is going through inventory and making new outfits with the new options I have now thanks to the sale over the weekend. I do not see this changing once the Winter Event starts up.
Log in, run the race on one alt, start up some DOff missions, log out and find something else to do.
Anyway, I'm still looking forward to the new event ship, what ever the Chel it ends up being.

It sounds like you've been talking to a resort owner from the Lakes, you know.
I especially don't like "Fastest Game On Ice"; I seem to always lag in the corners for a split moment...meaning there have been times where it takes me 30 minutes to complete it, either from finishing after the NPC or from accidentally leaving the course.
I would suggest either replacing it all together, or maybe something that after 3 attempts just gives you the reward for the day.
Not a lot they can directly cut-n-paste between both games. Same engine, but the implementation details are way different under the hood AFAIK.
Still, I would guess that some of the logic/code probably trickled over in some form. They're big fans of reuse and there are no examples of fishing in Trek lore that come to mind that would force it to be radically different.
But let's face it... are there ANY MMO games that make in-game fishing a fun activity? Just one more activity to add variety to the grind.

That person may have not played since the discount thing was put in. I remember getting burnt out on it before then on 20+ characters just to still have them boxed up to this day still lol.

So hopefully a reward this year will be a tac module with 21st c. Fishing Grenade.

Depending on your Faction: ESD, New Romulus or The First City. Don't forget to annoy Q so he turns you into (for a short time) one of a variety of creatures.

Black Desert Online has two fishing modes for rod and harpoon. The rod blows the harpoon is fun.
What amuses me about mmo fishing is that most MMOs make it about waitin and doing nothing. Which is realistic but boring. Most real life fishing is boring. But mobile and console fishing games, and there are hundreds, are active and fun.
I don't know why MMOs insist on boring when there are so many other options.
Punching the hole is totally Klingon. I love it.
Also the description sounds different from neverwinter. They have fixed holes that never move and enemies randomly hop out and attack you. You use buffs and higher quality gear to try and get high bonuses while hopping between holes based on the color of sparks it is giving off. There's no boss fight.
I am excited. Seriously, unironically excited. Maybe I have low standards. I don't care. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
