The Team Beta beta design looks like a hang glider.
"There will never be enough blood to wash away my need for vengeance! A single world...I could destroy a million worlds and it would not be enough! Your existence is an insult to the memory of my people! I will continue my fight, even if I must fight alone!"
To clarify the directionality of the thumbnails, the of forward of the ship is towards the top of the image. The second image below is the Aft perspective of the ship. Here is a image to help. http://i.imgur.com/k3gdfyH.jpg
We are super excited to be doing another community ship. We look forward to seeing what you choose.

@swalldev Looking again and assuming all the images have the fore pointed up in the top illustration, it appears as if the middle two are actually showing fore images below the top-down view...
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Tough call. In some ways Bravo is the more interesting design which makes it tempting. However, the more sweeping and elegant curves of it suggest a higher level of advancement in ship design which the Lukari simply do not have. Thus I'll go with Alpha. Better than flipping a coin, at least. Might work well for a future Lukari design should a relevant time travel thing happen.
I was both surprised and appalled by the results of the last poll ship.
I think it would be better for the devs to create all six designs and let the players choose which skin they want to fly.
Yeah, I still say that the 'Federation Carrier' poll was slanted for a pre-determined design to win based solely on nostalgia votes. I mean, seriously, what are the odds of the name already being decided to be 'Jupiter' and the ship that looks most like the removed Jupiter Dreadnought just happening to be the winner.
At least with this, there's no "I vote Omega for the nostalgia factor", it's all a matter of personal design tastes.
Ever notice that Alpha looks just like the crafts reported through the late 19th and right through the entire 20th century on Earth?
Don't like either, just saying.
So what you're saying is that we're designing the next generation of weather balloons and swamp gas?
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid." -- Q, TNG: "Q-Who?"
^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...
The look of alpha is really nice however this is the start of space travel. For me the choice of bravo is the best choice due to the simple way it looks. alpha should be a future or one of a kind flagship after future interactions with other races.
I ended up voting for Alpha because Beta looked too Romulan, but I'm not fond of either, not because they're bad but because they don't look "primitive" enough. All six of the proposed designs look more like something I'd expect from the Tholians or even the 31st century Starfleet than a young race making the first steps beyond their homeworld.
I was hoping the Lukari ship would be a bit more like the Enterprise NX-01: bulky, raw, not unlike speculative NASA designs. They mentioned a rotating crew section in the last blog; that would've been awesome to see.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
It would be nice to know WHAT KIND OF SHIPS these are suppose to be. Slow turning cruiser or highly maneuverable escorts? Because it matters, alpha is clearly a cruiser and bravo is clearly an escort.
It didn't matter in the last poll we were asked to choose a carrier and we got an escort that they made into a carrier, kinda.
I actually really like what is looking like a rear glow for a very wide engine. To me, that speaks of a fantastic-looking engine trail potential, the likes that I haven't had the pleasure to see since the Romulan-built R'Mor Temporal Science Vessel.
Also, its aerodyne looks makes me feel like it's a ship still designed to make atmospheric entry, which probably does matter for a race that wants a ship to get them places, perhaps with limited shuttlecraft support (for a first warpship, space could be at a premium).
The alternative reminds me of an APU cruiser, or a knockoff of lukewarm sci-fi movies from the 80s - can't see what people enjoy from it.

Saw the designs and they look good to me, but once I saw the pic that showed the flight orientation, it was an instant vote for Bravo! Both Alpha and Bravo are cool designs, but Bravo just does it for me.
When the dev team was first doing this with the Jupiter, I expected the Romulans or the Klingons to get their "community-driven" ships next, not a minor faction. It's nice to see the initiative making a comeback though.
Go Team Alpha! ^^
It reminds me of the ships that showed up in the X-Files -- and is that a Starfleet insignia on it (with the three tips missing)?

You is wrong. My assumption was right.
Turns out others that though that way may ave wasted their vote.
i saw. still makes no sense for those drives to be angled like they were. Either way i like 4 the most cause that seems like a great broadsider and one hell of a frontal 90 arc.
If any of the six designs had been on the table I would have chosen the last. I appreciated that it most closely resembled a B movie flying saucer but still managed to throw in some interesting curves that made it distinctive. It suits the bulkier more general purpose role the ship should arrive at by default and the ovoid shape apes Fed designs that would likely be the most significant influences on the Lukari design for it's architecture.
Limited to A and B, A is the only sensible choice. B looks like a Romulan patrol/ attack vessel and is less suitable for multi-role mission fits. Additionally the Romulan lobby didn't even seem worthy of mention in the short story. The A design strikesme as somewhere between Fed and Gorn designs which makes it the best choice. I might not appreciate the aesthetic personally but it's appropriate.

Okay on a serious note, have to go with alpha; just looks better of the two.
