So, been in this PvE few times, and mostly folks do not speak, not even if I have a question.
Right now, 2 people left the building, 3 of us remained, I asked, if we could make it from here on... no replay.
Shall we leave and restart? No reply.
What's wrong with you folks?
5 men in this PvE, and no one able to talk?
At least ANSWER if someone asks a question, even with a "Sorry, dunno."...

Well done, folks, good to know you're all so kind and helpful.
They just get less sober.
And it would be a wee bit odd, that, in a 5 man group, no one would speak English, right?
In the end, that's the most common language...
They just get less sober.
The level of stupidity that sometimes... well... most of the time appears in team/zone chat of PUGs is just too much...
I mean, there are people who did not understand how the old CE worked in the first place, who still think that the large shards heal the CE, and that you weren't supposed to shoot them and bicker at people who just do for DPS on the entity.
I just can't deal with that.
Original STO beta tester.
Though I told the group I was there for the BOff.
Team or Group no longer seem to mean the same thing like back in the day, seems.

also what chat channel were you attempting to talk in?

Great experience.
Guy then stop using PUGs. You want a specfic goal talk with your fleet and I bet if it's a half way decent one you will get a group going. So yeah to be blunt if it's a PUG nobody gives a damn what your personal goal is just the mission at hand. Get it?
I once was able to turn a total fiasco of an Infected Run around through team chat though. Took a while, but finally we started coordinating. I did most of the talking though, but it was clear they saw the chat. I think it took half an hour though but we eventually finished. While the group had a bit of a lower DPS, through teamwork we were able to balance it out. Someone just had to show initiative, and prove that they weren't going to berate anyone for "being n00b failures".
The problem is most people don't want to communicate for some reason or another. The bare minimum seems to be asking for a parse at the end of Infected. Its rare for anyone to even put "GG" at the end of an STF run anymore. Its "get my reward and go on to the next as soon as possible" most of the time.
If I ever get in on a Kitomer Gound run, I usually try and ask if anyone wants the BOff before blowing the last IMR in the hallway, especially if we already blew the optional timer. Usually get no response and someone just runs up and detonates it on their own. For me I view it as a common courtesy to at least ask.
And really Stasis REQUIRES communication since the person pushing the Borg buttons needs to know which button to push.
My character Tsin'xing
Nah, if someone is there mainly because he wants the Boff, then they'll let the team know. If they don't, it's their fault.
But yeah, blowing it right before someone who has notified the team of his goal is about to jump in is pretty arrogant as well. Unless the person who wanted the Boff did nothing to help take down the nodes. I've had people who never left the corridors or simply wait at the IMR instead of helping completing the mission.
In such cases I will actively blow the thing before they can jump in.
A newer player can be bad, maybe he doesn't know what to do but if they're not even going to try or ignore any hints that are provided then I think the rest of the team has the fullest right to say that he won't be getting his special reward and prevent him from obtaining it if he didn't even do anything for it.
My character Tsin'xing
Exactly. It REQUIRES communication. Its a PITA when someone just jumps in and randomly pushes buttons because you could be set up at B3, and they hit A1. Move to A1 thinking they're gonna hit that again, and its B2. Go to B2, its B1. Ends up becoming either camp one until he hits it or pray you get lucky.
If the player at least tries to help the team or listen to advice, then I'm happy to help them get through and obtain their rewards. That's a minimum thing I think that can be reasonably expected from everyone on the team.
Premade: well... I do not know enough people sadly.
And i can't ask them, if I did know a few, to ask them to run this PvE 10 times with me. So true, and so sad... I am so glad for you.
I had some nice groups too, it's just the others that frustrate me...
And I too help others where i can, if i can. Be so kind then to correct me?
As for arrogant, I cannot say, I would be biassed in that regard, towards myself.
I let others decide what to think of me... Though I am in a huge fleet, it's far from very active...
And being autistic does not help me either in this matter. I hope we would meet one day in space, seems to be a pleasant way to do a [something] as you describe it.

Over 5 hours I had two failed runs, people killing the Isolinear Molecular Reconverter before I could get there.

I would venture a guess that Chinese is the most commonly spoke language in the world, seeing how there are more of them than anyone.
But English is the most "universal" language. It is the standardized language for airline pilots, and it is a common learned language in schools in most developed countries. That wasnt arrogant at all.
Also, in large parts of the worlds you're more likely to be able to communicate well with people if you speak Spanish or even Portuguese rather than English.
In fact, there are lists that put Spanish above English when looking at native speakers, something that often tends to be overlooked.
That being said, English is of course the most universal language indeed.
As for autistic, I do not have that many friends in STO.
Or most other games.
I'm somewhat a loner... This is what I tried to say, but seemingly I fu... dged it up again. It actually was Latin.
A few days before the French, I mean.
And who knows, maybe in 100 years from now, it will be Chinese.
Or Basic, Binary, maybe? XD
