I don't want to leave the 23rd Century!

I've been playing my 23c Captain, and I really would rather stay in the 23c zone. However, there are only the four missions (Edren, Deneva, Babel, Tholians) that can be played. It gets a little tiresome playing the same four missions over and over. I'd love to have other things to do. SO, I have some suggestions.

1. Some sort of random mission area (like the "exploration" areas of old), that would create basic random missions.
2. Let us visit Vulcan and Andoria. There doesn't even have to be anything to DO there, just let us beam down (even better if we can take BOs).
3. Same thing with Sierra Station.
4. We need manuals for all 23c skills. As it is, I can't train my Chief Engineer in the 23c version of Engineering Team.
5. Give us a way to upgrade our BO quality. At present, the only 23c BOs are basic quality. I would like them to get better.
6. Duty officers and missions. It would be nice to have some basic DOs and some missions to do in the 23c zone.
7. Some way to upgrade our 23c ships would be nice. I'm still flying my Pioneer class, and don't plan on flying anything else.
8. Captain's Quarters in the Pioneer interior. Oh, and can we get the crew sitting on their chairs properly?
9. Actually, I'd love to see the Pioneer and Constitution interiors remade. They're not up to snuff, and Taco's work on the Intrepid rocks.
10. The ship's scanner effect is that huge ugly blue cone. Perhaps that could be changed to resemble the sensor pulsing effect seen in Trials and Tribblations (DS9 - a pulse of "sonar" rings around the ship, then a pulse of waves out the front).

I may add more if I think of anything.
I encourage the community to add ideas. I'll add those to the list too.

sadly I don't think the 23c was ever intended to be any more then it is, for that reason I very much doubt you will get any of the things you are asking for.
if you can live with forever experiencing the limited content that is available to you in the 23c map then fill your boots.
personally I would soon tire of this and end up either moving on or deleting the character forever, theres just not enough there to quench my thirst for things to do there and without that the 23c is just drudgery for the sake of it.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

yeah they pretty much wasted their time making a bunch of awesome TOS flavored things like the map and ESD if they don't intend to let us go back or expand on it.... sadly I don't expect much past *maybe* a FE or two at this point.

I agree, I'd love to stay in the 23rd century and just not leave.

To the very least, they should make the map layout an option for the Fed players to use. It really adds some flavor that I enjoyed.

Maybe 23rd century Temporal Agents could get a transwarp back to the 23c ESD l, as a feature.

Oh, and can we get the crew sitting on their chairs properly?

In the 23rd century (and after) gravitics/inertia compensation sciences developed "Butt Hover" (tm) to reduce problems like hemorrhoids, prostate swelling and swollen feet/ankles.

If nothing else, update K7 with the TOS theme and give temporal agents the ability to puchase 23c items and skills there. Maybe on another floor that only temporal agents can access.

Did the Foundry get all the 23c assets yet? Im sure there are plenty of authors who would helpyou "stay" there.

Not yet unfortunately. Taco tries to add those things in when he gets spare time, but it seems he's been pretty busy lately. Maybe one day...

You have to move on... The past is the past... You have to look to the future.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

You're playing the wrong game then, OP.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

if they do a TOS style featured episode or two as you suggest they might chances are they will be all faction in any case and not restricted to TOS characters plus they will be part of a greater story line that requires your character to complete them as part of the 25th century story line as well as the entry point for the missions being set on the 25th century sector map forcing you to travel there in order to start the mission and once you are there you cannot return to the 23rd century sector map.

we have seen this even before AoY was even thought of in missions like “Everything Old is New” and “Night of the Comet” for example.

the likelihood of cryptic creating any new 23c missions where there is an entry point based on the 23c sector map is unlikely to the extreme.

Just a few of the ship costumes. And they're glitchy as hell. :(

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Thats exactly what I meant, but by doing some FE we might get to see and/or use the 23c map again etc

If Cryptic were real smart they would have a separate server for the 23rd century instead of bothering with all this console nonsense.

this is also highly unlikely, most likely the start points would be in be on the 25c map and on completion would return you to the 25c map, there is no likelihood of you ever returning to the 23c sector map.

the most you would see is some 23c star system or planet and its unlikely to be one that featured in the ToS story line, even if you tried to exit the system in an attempt to get to the 23c sector you would only end up returning to the 25c map.

you might get to see some 23c ships or uniformed NCP's if you are lucky but that is the best you could hope for, it certainly wont be enough to give you the same feeling as you got playing those first 23c missions and experiencing the 23c space dock and sector maps..

I think there are too many pieces in 23c to just let it go with the next expansion.

My bet is that we're going to go back there for something big, but we won't like how and we won't like the mission involved.

23c ESD and a small galaxy map. That's about it for "23c stuff" that we don't have in 25c. Well, stores, but that's a lot easier "issue" to cure than the others.

Personally, my TOSling is wanting the computers to go ahead and display the galaxy map of the 25th century in 23rd century thematics... :)
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

It is a small map, but look at how many systems are left unexplored on said map. There's quite a bit. Either we had an instance where episodes were cut to make a deadline or we're going to somehow make it back to that map.

Aren't we ALL Temporal Agents now? Our 25th century characters do work for Daniels and such. There's a virtually unlimited mandate to travel back and do important things in the 23rd century. People want more 23rd century content, the demand is there, hopefully they'll give it to us.

Feds are all Temporal Agents if they bought the pack, but the titles are arbitrarily restricted to Fed/TOSfed only.

    So, I'm a Temporal Mastermind instead. B)

But no, we don't have "a virtually unlimited mandate" to travel back in time. Just when there's something important to do, and only for the purpose of doing that thing. Not gallivanting around sector space or timenapping boffs from ESD.
