Not a case of people moaning, lots of people "presumed" the Kelvin timline Connie was the best we would get, going off past conversations with devs ect , so I can imagination lots of people splashed out on that Kelvin Connie think its the closet they will get, and now oh look a "real" t6 Connie comes along.. Only ask what will Cryptic do next to boost PR, each week they seem do something stupid/greedy.
That's not why people are upset. The main reason why people are upset is because it's not a C-store ship, it's a promo ship. No one would be complaining about releasing the Konnie first only for the Connie to come out later in the C-store. It factually is a case of people complaining. I'm not saying I don't sympathize with the average person that is unlikely to own one, but these decisions bring in cash and that's what it's all about at the end of the day.
Alien ships in these packs is one thing.. but THE TOS Enterprise.. that's different. I bet you could get away with it being a 5k zen purchase or something.
Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who thought the most sought after ship in the entire franchise was going to be made available by anything less than the most punishing and difficult method in Cryptic's entire arsenal was fooling themselves.
Like, full blown delusional narcissism.
We've had the conversation over and over the last few months. Actually kind of nice to see that particular bugbear slaughtered by cold hard reality. Now we can start beating the dead horse of "oh noes! If you'd put it out some other way (that only coincidentally means I'd have one...) you'd make more moneies" BULL. TRIBBLE. Not how F2P economics work.
Not surprised and not going to waste my time. If Cryptic wants people to give money to some other website to get ship from free to play grinders then they have succeeded. After Kelvin Timeline ship I don't care anymore. I have enough ships and I am a lifetime member so they are paying me in free Zen to play the game anyways. They are just not going to get my money anymore. I am done with their STUPID GAMBLING SHIPS. The last expansion was not even a real expansion in any sense of there word, it wast just a new tutorial for just Federation characters.

People wanted a T6 Connie. Cryptic releases one. And everyone complains... there is just no pleasing people I guess
They're complaining about HOW it's *obtained*....
I can understand that but you can always get it off the exchange, just like any other ship that comes in a box. It's just that it seems like every time cryptic does something, someone has to get up in arms and complain. No one is forcing you to buy this. Also Im just going to say this but there is a T6 Connie

Sure, they will make a killing off these packs. Intoxicated with money to blow on idiotic projects for the future and then what will happen when that money is gone?
Had they put these items in the C-Store, yes, they would make less in the short term. But I am of the opinion that if you have less money to work with, you tend to be smarter with spending what you do have.
While I concede that my current disappointment with HOW these ships are being released is driving my utter contempt for this company for now, I do have to agree that it was a smart move to maximize profits. I do believe, however, that this move will eventually backfire on them by possibly driving away future sources of income (other players).
We'll see what happens...

Cryptic does need to make a profit. As for a Connie, most people can afford the T1 Connie for role-playing purposes and T1 STF challenges, so it's not like the model is not obtainable. However, having an end game Connie has always been the desire of most players. I would have preferred to see this come out of a Lockbox or Lobi store so that it is available year-round to all players and not limited to just a short duration of time. Sure, you can obtain R&D packs from this event, but it's going to cost the average F2P a lot of ECs, which it should. In the end, the promotion should have the desire results which is to generate income for Cryptic, which in-turn keeps the gaming running. Aside from the difficult getting this ship, it may be worth the setup where it is coming from.
Good. It's a shame there are even ugly alien ships in this game at all. I'm pleased to see iconic ships from the real factions supplanting xenos eyesores. I wonder what the stats will look like? These ships should generate sales without even requiring to perform ridiculously in scale to other ships. Will they be crazy powerful or will they wallow in mediocrity? Whatever the course they will be in high demand. I'm happy to see this, "Never say never" come to fruition.
I love how basically not a single person gives 2 TRIBBLE about the t'liss and d7..... KDF/RR finally get a temporal ship of their own but... TROLOLOL nope you gotta gamble for it

Actually I can't wait to get the D7 on day one.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.
Honestly, I want the Temporal D7 over the other ships. Having a T6 K't'inga, for me, is equivalent to those players who want the T6 TOS/TMP Connie. It is simply my favorite ship in Star Trek.

CBS wants the T6 TOS ships to be rare. it's been said over and over again that CBS was resistant to allowing the a high level TOS constitution in the game because the ship would be - and should be - rare in the 25th century. This was the compromise that allowed Cryptic to release the ship.
You don't have to gamble on it, you can wait and pay for it on the exchange. Sure, it's going to be very expensive, but you pay for rarity. That's just reality.
Be thankful that they finally wore CBS down and are allowed to release it at all.

Its not the fact that there is a t6 connie I hate, its that the last ships we got were multifaction and true kdf/rom ships are being slapped behind a lockbox/exchange paywall (and due to their rarity are stupidly expensive)
And this is what bugs me most... Gecko says they have no time to create kdf/rom ships now...yet have plenty of time to make lockbox ones, shattering that claim when logically, from now on the lockbox ships should be multifaction if they are focussing on the feds
I get the method of rnd lockboxing will give them a cash boost (likely netting Gecko a new Ferrari, lol) but the simple fact is they have time to create specfic rom/kdf ships for lockbox, but now do not want to create c-store ships - a totally despicable practice as there is no way fed/kdf/rom canon ships (original timeline) should be unavailable in the c-store as they are the point of sto - to fly the ships of your faction - I can understand the Kelvin ships but original canon ships should be available to all as they are what we grind/buy zen for and sets a very dark precedent... Want a t6 defiant? Bend over as its rndboxin' time! T6 nebula? Time to battle RNGesus! T6 NX? Open your wallets boys and girls, it bankruptin' time!
I would say people should vote with their zen and boycott the promo, but that would be pointless - I just hope when the next prime canon ship gets rnd'd you recall your participation showed them this despicable, bankrupt plan is acceptable practice

Same. I don't care so much for the other ships, but I really want a D7 for my klink. Since the ship will be overpriced as hell I'm just hoping that they reworked the skin and that I can use it on my Fleet T5U version.
Most likely the license got an early renewal when they negotiated the arrangements with CBS & Paramount to bring Kelvin Timeline material in to the game.
But please "Doooom" all you want, it'll get this troll thread closed faster.
Amen I swear to Christ, people whine bytch nag moan complain for years they wanted T6 connie, they get it and they still cry..... Oh my goodness they put it in a lockbox...... and all of a sudden everybody's butt hurt because they're actually trying to make some money but they're not trying to make money the way you think they should make money so automatically there bashed as having a cash grab attempt..... Seriously people shut up already be careful what you wish for......... silly rabbits tricks are for kids .... Now by the Zen open the PACks and hope you get a ship......... don't want to play that game? Fine the put your hand down sit down and shut up

The difference is they violated their own rules, they set for themselves to the community, without even a word of why. I know a lot of people complain over dumb things but this is a consumer trust and breaking a promise that they would not put prime universe faction specific ships into a gambling box.

Again speculation. No proof other then the absence of proof.
I want the D7 and the TOS Connie. My Gorn has flown his T5-U Fleet K'Tinga through many campaigns and I would love to have it. Unfortunately for the company, I will not gamble for it. I will use my dil/ec reserves to try, but not cash. If it had been C-Store, I would have bought it as a birthday present.
No rage, no anger here. I have resigned myself to the fact that I shall not have them because of other obligations. To those who get the T6 D7 fight with honor and to those who get the T6 Connie explore strange new worlds. Good hunting.

"Some" is true (I'd personally be very much surprised if it is higher than 20% of playerbase).

I might buy the R&D packs depending on how much I can sell them for on the Exchange. I would always use the EC to fuel my gear upgrade.
