Everyone calm down and think about what Mirror Universe Cryptic (beards) would do. They would give the T6 Connie away for free to everybody to celebrate the 50th Anniversary..........Um.....Because they are evil?

People wanted a T6 Connie. Cryptic releases one. And everyone complains... there is just no pleasing people I guess
They're complaining about HOW it's *obtained*....

I can understand that but you can always get it off the exchange, just like any other ship that comes in a box. It's just that it seems like every time cryptic does something, someone has to get up in arms and complain. No one is forcing you to buy this. Also Im just going to say this but there is a T6 Connie

The difference is they violated their own rules, they set for themselves to the community, without even a word of why. I know a lot of people complain over dumb things but this is a consumer trust and breaking a promise that they would not put prime universe faction specific ships into a gambling box.
CBS wants the T6 TOS ships to be rare. it's been said over and over again that CBS was resistant to allowing the a high level TOS constitution in the game because the ship would be - and should be - rare in the 25th century. This was the compromise that allowed Cryptic to release the ship.

You don't have to gamble on it, you can wait and pay for it on the exchange. Sure, it's going to be very expensive, but you pay for rarity. That's just reality.

Be thankful that they finally wore CBS down and are allowed to release it at all.
Again speculation. No proof other then the absence of proof.

I honestly don't remember when they made this rule. Or are you referring to before F2P, cause things change
After f2p, In one of the interview with I believe geko, he said all lockbox/gambling ships would be ships that would not be the prime universe faction specific at the time kdf or fed ships. That also they wouldn't be doing Romulan lockbox ships because they did plan on adding Romulans to the game in the future, as well as why they regret adding the galor.

But now that rule is out the door who's to say they don't put older promo ships like bug ship etc to the c-store.

So maybe that's what's going on Mirror Universe counterparts of Cryptic staff have infiltrated and are releasing things like the Kelvin timeline ships and now this constitution RnD set. I bet in secret they put on fake beards and bear their midriffs at work.

That would be a neat STO convention idea.

CBS Said NO T6 Connie. Yet this is a T6 Connie (one of two different kinds) ... And you guys are going to parse the whole "Faction ships in a promotion" rule?

    Really?

I'd say that whatever rules you think were once set regarding ship promotions and what not, are probably not as set in stone as they ever seemed.

I'm probably poorer than most of the people complaining here. Yet I can obtain any of these ships I desire to, all it costs is time.
If you have the time and IF they are on the exchange sure anything is possible that is if you can get it off the exchange before they all go away and the time period ends to get it out of an R&D box. That said after opening many boxes in the past to no real gain before the offers expired good luck with that. I have a life outside of the game.

If you can't be bothered to use resources for this game, be it real money or real time, then you DO NOT GET THE SHINIES. I work some 60+ hours a week. I have friends that I meet with regularly. I am in charge of running organized play for a local store of mine. I STILL find enough time where I can scrounge up the needed resources for these ships should they hit the exchange. I play less then an hour on average per day. If you can not find the time to play even that amount, then just quit playing games at all. Seriously, I am sick and tired of these complaints. You have no money...fine...but you have TIME. If you don't have TIME, then you should not be playing games. If you can't be bothered to spend your time to collect up for the shinies in this game...which it lets you do pretty easily...then you should not get the shinies...period. Everytime I hear this BS about I have a real life as an excuse, all that tells me is that you are LAZY and just want your shinies for free.
Ok AHat let me explain something to you. You assume I was refering to my self WRONG IDIOT. I was refering to the crowd that always pisses and moans they don't have time to do events etc. , etc. . The whole point of my post is this. A lot of you Fwads are saying doo dee doo derp derp they released the ship derp derp. Reality is they haven't really they have released a R&D pack with a chance (who knows what the odds are and how many they plan to have ultimatley for folks to get) to get a Ship that by all rights should have been a C-store item. PERIOD. As I stated in the opening I gladly would drop a large chunk of cash for C-store TOS T-6 Constitution as that would insure one got what they want instead of the odds are far more common Lobi. It would also keep it out of the hands of the farmers who have invaded the game selling items off site. But I guess that is beyond your grasp fwad.

Ship is too old to be T6. And too small to carry the proper firepower to be T6. And CBS said no.

And an Excelsior went toe to toe with the Defiant. And the Connie was all but retired. And there was an FCT. And CBS said no. And it was official. And the ship is way too old. And this makes no sense. Why would Cryptic do this? They said CBS said no. And we know the ship is so old that it is nothing more than a museum piece. This flies in the face of all logic established by Geko and the game and the ship tier system and the ship is too old and CBS said no and it's old and said no and old and no and old, no, old, no, no no no, old, no, too old ...

(whew) ... I had to get that off my chest.

I've always strongly opposed an endgame connie for reasons of immersion and plausibility.

Having it in a promo pack redeems it. I have no problem with this, it is a fair an elegant solution to an issue that has been vexatious for as long as the game has been out.

Very well done! This is truly the golden age of STO.

riiiiiight immersion and plausibility when starfleet officers fly Iconian Dreadnaughts beside Dominion Attack Ships beside ships from the 22nd Century beside ships from other realities.....

Ever consider this is a celebration of a series that even 50 years later is still inspiring people and quite a few of it's stories are relevant today? One example is "Let that be your last battlefield" . Sure the makeup was silly but the point was prejudice over a trival thing. this is still going on today and in many cases has gotten worse. You can substitute two religons or political parties or two sexualities for the white on black/black on white makeup that the two antagonists couldn't see was trivail.

As expected, you have nothing that backs up your emotional opinion. Well I actually do have something to back up my statements besides my "feelings." Faction ships aren't required to be in the C-Store. There is no "by all rights."

The Temporal Science Vessels are lock box ships. The Temporal destroyers are Lobi ships. The Kelvin Timeline ships are lock box ships. And the Vengeance is a Lobi ship. The upcoming TOS promo ships are also not in the C-Store. See a pattern here? Not all faction ships are in the C-Store. PERIOD.

Everytime I hear this BS about I have a real life as an excuse, all that tells me is that you are LAZY and just want your shinies for free.
...a Ship that by all rights should have been a C-store item. PERIOD...
Where does this "PERIOD" come from? Where's your documentation? Nothing is set in stone.

I guess that the meaning of the statment "A ship that by all rights should have been a C-store item. Period" is beyond your grasp.
What's your evidence beyond your opinion to back that statement up? Or is the concept of providing evidence (documentation) beyond your grasp?

Wow you don't understand that at all do you?
As expected, you have nothing that backs up your emotional opinion. Well I actually do have something to back up my statements besides my "feelings." Faction ships aren't required to be in the C-Store. There is no "by all rights."

The Temporal Science Vessels are lock box ships. The Temporal destroyers are Lobi ships. The Kelvin Timeline ships are lock box ships. And the Vengeance is a Lobi ship. The upcoming TOS promo ships are also not in the C-Store. See a pattern here? Not all faction ships are in the C-Store. PERIOD.

Again you cannot comprehend the entire thread not only what I have said but others as well. You also cannot grasp that in threads people post opinions not just "facts" . The door is over there please use it. ---->

I've always strongly opposed an endgame connie for reasons of immersion and plausibility.

Having it in a promo pack redeems it. I have no problem with this, it is a fair an elegant solution to an issue that has been vexatious for as long as the game has been out.

Very well done! This is truly the golden age of STO.

riiiiiight immersion and plausibility when starfleet officers fly Iconian Dreadnaughts beside Dominion Attack Ships beside ships from the 22nd Century beside ships from other realities.....

gtfo of here with that bullshiz

But all of those ships have valid and plausible explanations steeped in established game lore!

The connie? Too OLD! Breaks immersion!

    hahahahahahhahahahaahhaahah

    ;)

and guess what? SO DOES THIS!

it's a temporal ship, just like that golfball (which is even OLDER, btw) that you started raving over months ago! which you seem to be bored of already, given your remark in that other thread

Nope. No WAY! That's UNpossible! I've been assured, by THOUSANDS of posters over 6 or so years that what you say is not possible.

The connie is too old. No matter how many times I pointed to other ships that were older, or plot ideas that could make it work, I was told it's too old.

So that has to be the case right?

    Too old! Breaks immersion!

There's no way that would be untrue. Right?

    Ever consider ...

I'll let you in on the joke because your post was earnest and heartfelt.

I'm one of the original "Hey I'd like an endgame Constitution Class Enterprise to fly please" people. And I've endured 6 years of forum flack for it.

I'm going to enjoy shoving the "breaks immersion" and "it's too old" nonsense right back at people. Sorry if you get caught in the crossfire. But I've earned this one!

Wow this thread has gotten hostile over digital products... I just don't understand it

    I know how you feel.

People have wanted a t6 TOS connie for a LONG time. They finally get one and all people can do is be hateful, its ugly.

It's corrosive really. Also Ive noticed this as a trend in a lot of the OP's threads and posts
    JJ Connie > TOS Connie
