I always wanted to get a t6 connie but after reading this STUPID dev blog it's stuck behind this really annoying and very very very very very very limited chance to win R&D promotion
I am so not happy about this stupid promotion thing >:(

I really want one. Hard. Especially how it can use the TMP refit skin. Who doesn't want one? I'm still not going to complain about it because I'm just glad it finally happened rather than... you know, go another 6 years of saying it's completely out of the question, it'll never happen, any thread about it gets closed, ect.

Why advertise that it can use the Vesper skin though? That skin is UGLY!
Ain't these the ugliest duckling since the inception of STO. Still, I will make sure to make a great profit for those who like to collect junk. The ferengui dealers in STO see this as profit time...here comes the money
CBS has been resistant to the idea of a T6 Connie since the T6 ships were introduced, so likely the rarity of these is the only way that Cryptic could convince them to allow it. Be happy that they exist at all, because until now, it just wasn't going to happen. Use Dilithium to get Zen, or save up EC to buy one on the exchange (which will likely be expensive, but still you can guarantee that you get one that way). Both are alternatives to spending real world cash on this.

I'm pretty sure now that they are releasing the T6 constitution that the entire excuse about cbs saying no was bs.

Actually I think it's because it is coming up on the 50th Anniversary of TOS. So... Special Event thing. And since it is not a C-Store release... I believe a C-Store T6 is still a no go.
Gonna agree with Rattler2. There were probably devs who always supported a T6 connie, vs those who didn't. When the time was right, the ProCons had their way.

Think that all you want, but that was the word from every Dev and Executive producer since the beginning of the game. Why would they not release something like this to the C-Store years ago (back when releasing ships to the C-store was the norm), knowing that they could make a fortune on it?
It's the same reason we haven't seen any of the Kelvin universe stuff until now, it was forbidden. That changed, so now for this brief moment, it's not forbidden anymore for whatever reason. Time will tell if it's a one time thing, of if they will ever allow it again, but if they do, expect the rarity of the item to continue.
It amazes me how some people seem to have this compulsion to create a conspiracy theory for every single thing that happens in this game.
more seriously this is getting to be some rediculous BS -.-
finally give klinks and roms a t6 temporal ship? Lock it in a gamble and place it with the most demanded ship ever so its guaranteed to max out ex prices -.-
There's greed, then there's cryptic greed... why the hell do we even have a cash shop anymore?
BTW stall is set up and popcorn is popping, butter sauce and caramel are warm and ready to go. Torches and pitchforks are ready for sale
Another genius idea from the people who brought you one million dilithium costumes. There was a steady flood of people ready to pay the three to four thousand Zen for a T6 TOS shop (the Conni in particular) so it's not even a slight risk. It's not like people wouldn't have been metaphorically queuing up for the single most requested ship in the entire bloody game. It's not even about real vs. converted Zen as both ships and R&D packs can be bought with either. Stupid idea.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Want to know how I know you didn't bother to read the announcement before posting? Try it, then you'll know. And knowing is half the battle! (Also a decent Nic Cage movie.)

You can blame human stupidity for this. If they just throw it in the C-store with a $300(conjectural) price tag on it, they'd get a lot fewer takers than they do with the "just one more" types who will end up opening an equivalent amount of R&D boxes.

Yeah, Cryptic decided "let's turn down a huge ****pile of money because we can." Makes total sense.
They will make more money from this pack ****.
I don't think so - not over the amount of time they could have been selling. 6+ years is a big sales window vs two weeks.
Sounds to me like Cryptic got CBS to shift their position a little.
They will make more from this pack and it's re-releases then from putting in the store... FROM NOW ON. Nobody was talking about the previous 6 years because as you said, presumably it wasn't allowed.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

No it was BS to begin with and now they put the ship in a pack so they can maximize profits. They are going to make a killing from selling the promotion packs.

I'm even more sure I've been saying for close to a year now the reason there was no endgame connie was because Paramount was rightly patrolling their own front yard and controlling the visual space around the KT connie. Now that the KT connie is in game and has been given a solid window to earn sales, there's not reason to suppress the competition.
Boom. T6 TOS connie right on schedule, exactly as predicted over half a year ago. And released in the maximally expensive format... also as predicted.

but it's so not fare for those (inclueding me)who don't make enough money to buy these stupid promotion packs
Some people might relate to this.
