Damit you ruined Agents of Yesterday with all the blur and filmgrain. I was really looking forward to this but its looks terrible. https://s31.postimg.org/v4rfy9fm3/filmgrain.jpg could that look any worse! That's me out, worst expansion ever, unless I can find a way to turn all this rubbish.

I was getting as far as the Character Creation screen, but the game was CTD every time I hit the ENGAGE button.
Now I'm getting a second patch of 1152MB's.

Not the first game I've played with film grain, but it is the first game I've played that wouldn't let me turn it off. I appreciate the artistic reasoning behind it, but I personally hate it.

As an example, Alien: Isolation is another game that does an amazing job making everything look old, but that game also looks much better with the film grain turned off.

Will be checking out the new missions in a few. Then I'll cook up a new character and see what the TOS era looks like

Now I am officially scared..Something that is pointing towards 5gigs and above aint a patch, its a game in its own right barring one freak of the gaming world called Aliens Colonial Marines..

I didn't really pay attention to the first patch earlier, but I think, it was about 4.5MB's.

After I logged out, Im now currently getting a 1162 mb patch...was this intended...

As for the game itself, I didnt have any issues...picked up my pre-order packs...no issues with the film grain effects (honestly if it wasnt mentioned, I wouldnt notice), so far so good...

But whats up with this new patch?

Did you let it do the pre-patch? If you did then (aside from downloading the latest fixes of course) it's just copy-pasting locally.

During the patch download I had, it said 2709 MB. The game did load.

Yep - and Tribble testers were BEGGING for a 'disable film grain' option, but no - we didn't get one. Cryptic, the only MMO studio that INTENTIONALLY spends Dev time and resources to make a portion of their MMO look WORSE.

Stay classy Cryptic. Created new TOS Andorian, started tutorial, crashed during tutorial, now crashes at the Character Selection screen. This seems oddly similar to what happened on tribble during beta. Glad to see you made such good use of the reports you got of this 3 weeks ago.

Hm. I got through the whole tutorial okay, and the Gorn are just around the corner. Patching wasn't that much of a problem, except for the usual loooong time on the loading screen, followed by a bug-out to log-in, after which all runs as per usual. Must've been lucky...

Eh, I'm not noticing the film grain effect. Don't know what everybody else sees, but I'm not seeing it.

Just finished the tutorial, currently sitting on the Shadow of Cestus mission. Honestly not wowed with this expansion so far, it's just outright lacking something I can't put my finger on. I may be biased, though -- I find TOS to be a pile of TRIBBLE through & through to begin with < dodges tomatoes & bottles >
Hopefully the storyline picks up quick & gets better, I realize I'm basing my opinion off the tutorial alone, but I'm not seeing this character getting much use after the AoY arc stories cross over into main ones if the overall feel is the same as the tutorial.

Why is it that people complain first? This a great expansion. I like that the story continues beyond the first storyline throughout once you reach higher ranks, and the 50 year celebration with the look and feel of The Original Series. I appriciate the time, forethought and artistic liciense that went into this creation. I also thought is was so funny, don't want to spoil it, when a throwback aspect of the orignial series showed up in the first mission. Had me laughing out loud. Some people will not get what is going on with this expansion, and the old timers like me who grew up watching TOS will get it and laugh, and enjoy the merger of the old with the new, including the Kelven material. I'm a fan, and want to see this continue for years to come. Bravo, STOL. BRAVO!!!
