For the last month or so I have suffered extensive server issues. Rubberbanding happens about once a minute, all the time. Server not responding pops up about once every 5 mins, and sometimes those lead to disconnects. I'm disconnected from the game about once an hour. I've checked/double checked/tripple checked all my settings and I cannot figure out how to fix this. I play STO about 8 hours a day. I really need help fixing this.

Two disconnects, rubber banding / lag, causing two ship destructions.
For YEARS PWE has gained the rep of having THE WORST online server connections I have ever known. From EQ II, World of Tanks, BDO, Conan, etc...NONE of these have disconnects like this company's servers. I can go MONTHS without ever seeing a disconnect, yet I can get disconnected several times in a month, sometimes a few times a day.
Betternet is a free VPN that you can try out.
https://www.betternet.co/
Here is a review of Betternet. Note that at the very beginning the review tells you the overall score is 48.5/100. Keep in mind that it lost point due to the fact that it does not offer features that a paid VPN would normally offer to customers like 24/7 support and telephone support.

I was streaming and started getting dcs over and over. First I thought it was the internet since both the game and OBS would disconnect.
I stopped streaming, and now up to over 10 disconnects while trying to get an Iconian space mission done. I can log right back in but get dc within the first minute. I give up. I can watch Twitch broadcasters, view webpages, etc, but can't play this game.

My post has not had any reply.
Once again, just logged in 30 min ago, within first five minutes I got disconnected standing in Risa. I then got some lag waiting on button presses on my rep tabs, and then now I just got SNR disconnect again.

I spoke to my brother, he's a professional network admin. He believes the problem is one of the three things, as this started happening after an update.
1. Bad code triggering a disconnect.
2. Bad code triggering something server-side (cpu overload? ram?) which triggers disconnect to level off.
3. Bad code triggering network saturation which causes disconnect.
Edit: ok, not 100%, still got disconnected once, but it's not happening hourly like it was before.
My disconnects only happen while standing still on Risa (bank/exchange/etc.) or while in space going through mission data. Again, standing still. Haven't disconnected while moving . . . yet.
Prior to the Summer Event, I never had these issues before. Something is definitely up. . . .
Edit: Up to almost ten times times now. Nothing like getting disconnected while fight Tholians.

And there's my results. My ISP is CenturyLink and I pay for up to 2.5mbps. (Used to be 1.5mbps)
Yeah, just disconnected 5 times in 30 minutes. Something server-side isn't working properly. I'm noticing it's far more frequent at night, usually starting around 10-11pm EST and only gets worse as the server gets busier with players from overseas. Still happens during the day sometimes, but I notice it happens more at night.
Edit: Make that 6 times now.
Over the weekend 2 dcs total, today 4 times in about 2 hrs, this TRIBBLE gets old for me real fast.
Their server's probably crank powered at this point. Jesus, All these issues made me opt out on the lifer. I'm on a broadband fiber connection and even I'm getting rubberbands/random SNR's
These server issues continue:all the people who came back for AOY will leave; and rather quickly.
Chances are, their servers are in clusters and one or more of those clusters are malfunctioning for any number of reasons, which I've already listed and reported to support.
It's gotten a little better on my end. Still getting a lot of SNR's, but haven't gotten disconnected in the last 2 days. I probably just jinxed it.
+1 to this..I came back after a long gap (Late 2012) to a very horrid server problem..Cryptic support always blammed my connection for it so no help there after telling them I would sub only if they fixed this..I even went to my ISP chief divisional engineer and he said there is nothing wrong on the ISP ends, I took the logs to my companies network admin and he said its an issue at the hosts end..SO yeah that pretty much summed it up for me that cryptic support has no reply but blame the end user for their connection..And the kicker in one reply was because I play from India that is the likely cause as they dont get many people from that distance..I joined back in May this year, also note that I do play SWTOR on and off, maxed out, and I cant get any issue relating to servers not even if I ALT+TAB and keep a youtube video playing in the back ground at HD and have every device on wifi ON at 512kbps (Thats because my higher speed cap of 4MBPS is limited to 10GB and STO hogs most of it with its gigantic patches all in excess of 500-600MB)!!!!
PS: I do NOT use on-demand patching at all..It will just TRIBBLE everthing up..Luckily SWTOR doesnt have this on-demand patching TRIBBLE in it, so basically everyone in-game is at the same patch level after the starter planet so there arent any hogs on the game servers patching while playing..
