Lots of great ideas here! Love all the energy and excitement! For the separate channel how about STB HOLIDAY (just a thought)? Also was thinking about a new idea we could add to this? How about a STB ground run? Match your outfit with your weapons with your faction? We could set up a giant Defera or Dyson Ground run? STB players flooding the maps = AWESOME!
PS I'll run the STB event idea through my Armada tonight to get some more players.
I can't believe it's been 2 years already... the time sure does fly when you're having fun and I can't thank all of you who I've met thru STB for that.
You Captains, Generals & Commanders have gotten me thru the toughest grinds/events with ease TBH. You all have also kept my interest in STO high and mostly importantly fun in everything that we do.
A lot has changed in the 2 years since STB's beginnings but if one thing has stayed constant... it's the positivity that's within STB that I'm most proud of. There has been little moderation really required as it's been really clear what STB is all about... staying canon and having fun.. that's it.
As for the upcoming STB weekend here are a couple of my suggestions.
- Themed runs (got connie?)
- Themed ground runs (good suggestion Waldo)
- quick pvp runs? (i say quick like first to 3 points or something.. IF anyone is up for that)
- T1/2 runs
- old school CCA/SB24 runs complete w/mission breifings
- STB HSE attemps.. cuz we still gotta do that one hahah...
- do the BZ's .. TBZ, VBZ & UBZ
- Story missions (to get gear for alts etc)
- ISA run w/the 10% rule
That's just some thoughts.. Setek suggested a quiz for some prizes.. that's sounds fun as well.
TBH it really won't matter to me as long as all is having fun.
Also, keep in mind that most of the above may take some time to organize but depending who is free and what all is wanting to do.. it can be quick or take some time and please... feel free to suggest anything.
I invite anyone who wishes to join us to do so.. all one needs to do to join this or STB is type the following
/channel_join Star Trek Battles
All I ask of anyone who joins is to read the STB guidelines and keep it canon and mostly keep it fun!
Again.. I thank all of you who has tried out STB and look forward to always meeting new people as well as flying with anyone in STB.
@trizeo1 Request permission to interview you and your other coordinators on The SHOW to help inform our audience on what you're doing.
You outrank me.. so you just need to order me to do it.. hhaha. Remember.. I told SF to take the promotion and.. well .. you know =D
I would be honored sir! 07
Also, thank you for shout out on the SHOW this last Wednesday.
Just let me know what you require from myself and I will try to do what you need me to do. I have asked some of the admins about this before when you first asked me and they don't like mics.. hahaha but I will ask again.
As I mentioned before.. STB has been such a great way to meet new people such as yourself and some of the others I've met from the SHOW and I hope that it continues.
You know how to get a hold of me in game Admiral.. see you out there sir 07
I'm a returning player, and I used to have a ton of fun flying with you guys. I'm happy to see you still going strong. Can I rejoin the channel?
Welcome back!

INFO ON THE STB BIRTHDAY EVENT
I decided against having fixed times for events. STB just doesn't work like that
Instead I encourage everyone who has an idea to just do it. Maybe promote it an hour or so in advance in other channels.
Trizeo already sent me a fleet of mirror ships and some tholian web consoles to be used as prizes/giveaway. I will add some items like at least one "Space Trait: Self-Modulating Fire", a stack of contraband and a Tholian Meshweaver or two. And some more stuff, depending on what I have available at that time.
So if you want to hold a competitive Event (I'd still love to have a trek trivia quiz, but I watched all the episodes in german, so it's not easy for me to do that) and need items to give out as prizes hit me up in advance!
And if you want to add something to the pool please send it to bank@tyrinius
If there are any items left by monday they will either be kept for future events or we'll make a draw, or screenshot contest or whatever ideas come up. As is customary in the STB channel this will be decided by the members.
It would be GREAT to have access to a Teamspeak server for this weekend.
Sooooooo, without further ado I present my first Event, the
1st ANNUAL STB TRIATHLON
I spared no expense (to quote John Hammond) and installed screen recording software to make my first gameplay video ever! My graphics card didn't really like it, so there are a few FPS drops, but it shows the most important parts of the race: https://youtu.be/q6a-Zbi7pEw
I will have a character standing at the finish line. The first to trade him will be the winner and receive the reward (unless someone has a better idea on how to do that).
I recommend everyone wears a nice racing suit, I might actually make separate costume contest for that.
The route to use is pretty clear and I intend to do go through it together with the racers at least once before the actual race starts. I trust everyone involved will respect the spirit of the event and not ruin the fun which we are trying to have. Those that do not follow the rules, will be treated accordingly. Which means I'll unleash all my wrath and permanently ban them from the STB channel. Furthermore I will take a picture of their avatar and add the line "this person is bad" in ComicSans and publish it on the internet!

Firstly.. thank you sir for working on the 1st STBT!... it looks fun!
I hope I'll be able to try it out. Saturday I'll be on but really late... I may try in the morning but it will be short so really no time for anything but at night.. I should be good.
Sunday will be a bit better.. I should be on early evening me things but I do have a practice to attend to at 8:30pm so should be home by 10pm... but please... carry out your planned out activites and encourage all who can to join and have fun!
When you mentioned to mention the event in prior channels I assume the STBT is open to all who want to try it out.
If I'm on and you're not I will get a race or 2 going and let you know of the winners.
If I'm able to do the race and win I will not qualify to win... I just want to try it hahah!
With this weeks global activity to do PVE stuff.. I'll be calling some runs and making some changes to them so for example... is ISA.. we will be implementing the 20% rule and other things such as possibly gear reduction OR weapons power adjustment just to do something differnt.
One of my personal goals is to beat HSE this weekend with a group from STB.. Hopefully we can get a team or 2 to get this going.
Anyhoot... BIG THANK YOU again Setek for putting all this together.
Due to real life I unfortunately was unable to log in much on saturday. But we had some really awesome Triathlon runs yesterday, I'd like to thank everyone who participated!
Everyone played fair so we didn't even need a referee at the finish line, which meant I was able to participate in the races (out of competition of course, as I created the race track). And I even was almost beaten once! And when we ran it in reverse I missed a junction and utterly failed, had a good laugh!
I have a feeling we might do this more often all the year.
Sadly it appears that unless you unlocked the Summer Event Reputation Store you can not buy Hoverboards (and some players missed the Back To The Future Giveaway). Or did we just not find the NPC Vendor? The one selling the Floaters does not sell Hoverboards.
I think the powerboard vendor is summer event only. Also I'd like to add the STB Weekend was a lot of FUN!! Saturday was slow yes but Sunday was a blast! T1-2 runs, the triathlon, the STB Ground run all awesome! Thanks everyone who makes this group so much fun not only this weekend but every night!! You have truly all made the game more than anyone could have designed.

Setek!... Man.. I can't thank you enough for the time you put into that race which even included a map & vid!
It was great fun... and my suggestion running it backwards was halarious!.. seeing you in front of the pack then everyone following you going the wrong route haha!
I would LOVE to do this on a yearly basis or when another special planned event comes up in STB... it is a truly great idea and great clean fun!
Kudos again.. IMO the 1st STBT was a GREAT SUCCESS!

Waldo!.. Glad you had fun.. that was the only purpose of it.
Saturday was pretty busy and will be pretty for me from now on but I did get a race in with Krunt late that night as I really wanted to try it... was even able to get some pewz in
Thank you for the kind words Waldo... I think it's just great to have been able to have found Captains that have the same love for STO/ST which makes the game all the more enjoyable.
I'd like to thank all who participated in the events... I do truly hope you all had some fun
2 years and it doesn't even feel that THAT much time has passed. I always look forward to logging on even if it is just to chat around a bit. As with so many others has said... STB has some GREAT Captains in it... always willing to help.. always friendly and always ready to pewz!
I want to thank ALL who are in STB or who have tried STB... it's been all of you that has kept STB/me going. I look forward to more annual events and going thru whatever STO can throw at us.
If anyone out there has any suggestions for future events or themed runs... please feel free to throw it down in chat, here in the forums or even on reddit... If you don't ask you'll never know what interest there will be.
I'm sorry i missed out on the STB event, but my motherboard died and the new one wasn't working properly ( bad installation on my part ). However i was able to log in on my laptorp and do the doffing at least... Now i'm up to full shields and hull so pewing is the first order of business! Lock phasers and fire
Been gone for a while, but I'm back...so, gang, what have I missed in the last ten months or so?
To answer your question: lost of exciting things! We've been trying out a form of PVP, lots of T1-2 runs, some themed runs, Elite PVE with STB groups, the STBT, ground STB, and a Cat Bus doing a Rock n' Roll.

I know I've seen you in game already but.. WB.. good to have you back in your seat.
So it finally happened!... STB beat HSE in canon load out ships!.. so that means beams & torps fore AND aft!
I know there are groups out there that beat HSE daily but for STB it was something of a goal since DR dropped... there have been many attempts here and there but this last one worked out perfect!
I am aware of some sort of nerf that happened but I think we were planning on doing it right around the time before this said nerf but just could not get together due to timing of events and such.
This was our 2nd attempt in 2 weeks and the suggestion to try it that night was from Setek which worked out because we had Captains willing to do it.. BIG shout out to the following
Captains Setek, Vasilly, Picard & Esponiza! (apologies if I spelled any names wrong)
This was actually the first try of the night... we changed our approach slightly given our past experiences which was really to try and NOT to TRIBBLE everyborg all at once.
We had a good combination of ships IMO.
2 Oddys 1 Galaxy 1 Defiant 1 Akira (mine)
The goal for my build was to have something that can dish out torps as well as support our main tank, Vasilly, and I'm quite pleased with her performace which is just the stock cstore Alita with not even all the equipment upgraded yet so there is room for improvements but it was enough to pull her weight in that HSE.
The best part IMO was that we finished the first optional with a minute left... so when I saw we had 3 cubes to finish at about the 2 min mark.. my heart started racing haha but it's those close call ones that I LOVE and live for completing.
So.. can 5 canon boats do HSE.. YES.. YES they can may not be as fast but it can be done and teamwork was definately needed for us in this one.
Again.. TY Captains for the time, fun & pewz! We will have to try again sometime soon.
Nice! Congratulations! If you do it again, I'd like to get in on that, please.
Would totally LOVE to have you in team when we try that again.
I would like to thank you for teaming up with us to send off Breach with a TBE with ZEF films... it was a great way to end the event as well as meet the man himself who you see his passion thru his vids
Could you please mention the HSE run on The Show this week? Thanks much.
Sorry, I missed this until now, but I will do a shout-out next week and include the forum post in the SHOW Notes.
My deepest apologies.
No worries on that.. it's a great accomplishment for STB being able to finish HSE.. it's quite easy for some but for canon ships it still is a great challenge which is awesome for us to have completed whilst keeping canon.
As I mentioned above.. would LOVE to have you on team sir to give the Borg some good ol' torp lovin hahah!
Hello again! After my absence, I feel like doing playing STO, ( or more specifically, STB) again. It's been about 5, 6 months since I played fully, so I'll probably have lost some of the skill I had, but hopefully not too much.
Looking forward to running some more STB missions soon, and I'll be bringing a new ship. I don't know what though. Anything new come out that's good? I should have enough stipend for a T6 ship.
It's a shame I missed the two year mark though.
EDIT:Oh... how long has that typo been in my signature? How do I change it on this new forum?
Honestly I like the Skill Tree overhaul. I remember when I first started playing this game the old skill tree was really confusing. New system seems a little more newbie friendly. Granted no skill tree system is going to be perfect because (points here) there is a lack of explanation about what Crits/EPS/Exotic Damage/Engine pwr vs Shield pwr etc etc. and how any of that works into playing this game when you are a fresh recruit flying a Miranda. The system should be Skill Tree + a free Respec token so 6 months from now when you figure it out you can change your skill tree to more suit what you are doing as a Captain. This line of thought is probably the reason why so many new players roll Tac's as it's the easiest to figure out in terms of game mechanics.
Finally Rom Admin is nice. A lot of knocks about the not showing more love toward Rom faction. This should alleviate it. (end of ranting)
I'm having a hard time remembering a half season update this good. The skill revamp, new FE, new RA, new admiralty campaign, TR-116 update...it's just so much.
It's still a work in progress, I am sure I can move more points around to get a better optimized setup, but so far it works really well.
I'm flying either a Galaxy as a DPS Tank and support healer (via AOE heals) with phasers and photon torpedoes fore and aft. My current main ship is a T6 Sci Oddy with Phasers fore and aft, a Neutronic torp fore and a Terran torp aft. Both consistently take in 70% of attacks-in for ISA (or over 90% attacks-in without dying) and about 50% attacks in for CCA. The Galaxy heals for about 5k HP/s. Both clocks over 60k DPS (with the Oddy hitting a best of 85k).
Overall the skill changes have been really good for my toons. Happy with the changes.
Zacky!.. haven't heard from you in a minute.. hope all is well and that I get to run into you again

Just before 11.5 I had hit 80K which for me was a personal best on my canon boat.
I had done a run the day 11.5 hit with my "balanced" tree to emulate what I had before 11.5 and day 1 I hit 60k+. Which was a run with a 100k & a 90k with me in the middle of the pact.
Last night I decided to revisit my tree and decided to use the free respec to go for the tac ultimate. I lost 10k hull but gained 1k shield facing and also realized that NONE of my space traits were on! haha!.. so I slapped them on and did an ISA run in the dps channels and hit my personal best of 81k WITH 1 death which had 1 Captain hitting 100k. Had I not died I probably would've hit a bit more but there were a couple of times prior to my death where I was out of firing range for a couple of seconds and with the death added up to about 20secs of no dps done.
I'd say it was a boost for sure for me to die and still hit a personal best haha! Although going for the tac ultimate I do feel that I want to respec again to give a bit more survivability which it good for the times of living the puglyfe.
I'm not concerned too much for my other alts as I just want them to be able to stuff so I just went for a generic tacish build but for my Sci canon Captain.. I will have to revisit his.
Overall... I feel the powercreep is strong with this so things will die a lot faster BUT the streamlining of choosing is nice and quick when it comes to the skill revamp.
Will have to wait for any changes to see if indeed things are WAI but it wasn't too bad of a transition in my experience.
The FE I enjoyed as I can appreciate what they're trying to do but it's another war and I would've hoped for something more deep story wise?.. Don't get me wrong.. me loves my pew pew but I can't remember when we were explorers anymore
Like Kin mentioned.... the TR update.. so much WIN!
Tonight I did another run and managed to hit another personal best..
That was a run without me hitting my GDF and a bit longer so I feel I could've hit 90k?.. that is a bit nutso IMO. I almost want to think that the devs are preparing us for the return of Elite content?.. even then.. HSE or Korfez has been pretty much easy with the right team... I wish I could have a stab at NWS again with a full STB team to see how we'd fair.. but with those numbers .. prolly ok.
I probably will end up going back to my old style of playing things which is do a self nerf to enjoy things like ISA a bit more and just gun up when required.
I hope to see in the future content that is not DPS/pew orientated but what that looks like.. I'm not sure but for now I will keep trek'n and wait to see what the future brings for STO.
Captain Ernest! 07
It's GREAT to see another fellow pinoy join the STB side of things! hahaha!
That is awesome to see someone such as yourself try going ST acc.. bet you had a bit of fun? hahah.
Hope to be able to fly with you in your canon boat sir.
Until then.. Ingats to you and all out there... see you in game! 07
TR-116 update is awesome! Really, I've been waiting for this for so long.
I have no skills (haha) and still hit around 60k in ISA PuGs. I'd like to try an HSE before spending any skillpoints. If I survive well enough there I'll probably go all offensive in the Skill tree. Unlocking the Tac Cooldown Reductions is very tempting for Canon builds.
But then again I may want more defense for the Exeter, though I might just commit a new char to fly it exclusively.
Seriously though, while it's really awesome how much some STB captains improved (it's not powercreep alone, but also piloting and ship building), it shows once again how desperately we need new challenging queues.
Trizeo did 10x the minimum DPS needed for ISA. And parses between 50-70k in that queue are pretty common in STB runs and even PuGs.
I think at this point it would be very difficult to gimp a T5 or T6 ship down to the 10k range (or less, because even at 10k you are steamrolling most content). Sure, you could go all defensive, but where's the fun in flying an immortal turtle?
I guess the only option is going for the lower tiers again.
So, yeah 11.5 is nice, but I'm not very excited. The Skill Revamp certainly makes things more accessible, which is great. Especially for players that don't read the forums or reddit. More advanced players also seem to be able to boost their performance.
But for those players one question remains: For what?
We got a very annoying Red Alert (auto-hail... seriously?) which is essentially the same old "kill NPC group A, move to NPC group B, kill NPC group B, etc." Instakills aren't exactly challenging if you remembered to reslot Evasive Maneuvers. And those temporal distortions are essentially a fancy implementation of an HP sponge which unfortunately also makes flaws in STO's auto-targeting very obvious.

Anyhoot... BIG THANK YOU again Setek for putting all this together.
TC Captains and we'll see you in game! 07
PS.. get your T1/2 ships ready in advance!
When I was on Saturday morning/afternoon, it was really quiet. I missed the evening, so maybe things picked up then.
The powerboard vendor is on the promenade, by the race start point. I'm not sure if she goes away when the event is over or not.
Setek!...

See you in game soon 07

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

I actually like Delta Rising.

Finally Rom Admin is nice. A lot of knocks about the not showing more love toward Rom faction. This should alleviate it. (end of ranting)
This is my take on a canon DPS tank's skill build:
https://redd.it/4ev3ia

SCM - Infected [LR] (S) - [03:25] DMG(DPS) - @trizeo1: 16.07M(87.12K)
Powercreep must be really strong ;P
