I loved The Breach. It was a hugely enjoyable map, and massive. To the poster who asked how many Scimitars, more than 3, in fact probably pushing a thousand or two, it is THAT big!
Here's my biggest issue, as with the Crystal and Mirror events past, AFK'ers! From past experience, especially when Breach was in the normal queues, AFK'ers ABUSED this queue. @pwlaughingtrendy I know it's probably too late now, but please, please, please can you push this issue with the Dev's because it is a serious issue!! An auto-boot for these types of events needs to happen because the AFK penalty is pointless unless they don't get the rewards!! It's so frustrating seeing 2 or 3 people just sit at the start of the mission!!!
I agree with every other poster about the Admiralty Card reward.....it's not really worth repeating the event 14 x per character at all, especially with The Breach being a mission that takes 10-15 minutes per run. To all the players, it is NOT a time-gated mission. There are objective timers for bonus Marks.
I'd also like to express my disappointment at the removal of the multiple tracks in the first part of the mission. This was a great part of the mission. Those that could handle a single track solo, could fly off and do so.
IS there a way to fail this event? Does failure still give you your doodad needed to get admirality card?
"This queue has been refurbished and adjusted to address some quality of life issues as well as to create a better experience for an event of this type. The largest changes include a single assault path on the exterior of the ship, better path communication and objective adjustments with an eye towards a faster completion time."
You are joking, right? The mission is as slow as the previous "into the breach", the developers team just added few arrows and closed some paths on the outiside (making the mission SLOWER).
Actually I am disappointed by the work of the devs on this STF.
And what is worse is that the final reward is not account wide (I am just speaking about the ship-card, not the dilithium).
I have to repeat this on all my characters, that's not good at all.
Well, one thing to consider: So far, these kinds of projects (unlike the Anniversary/Winter/Summer projects) do not disappear when the event is over. So you could start them on each character once, and then complete them over time on characters that you feel could use it.
Of course, that's only of limited use if the next price also looks too awesome to miss.
Umm the reward (drops required) is ONLY during this event... you have to do it during the time frame and you need 14 of em for each toon... Also there is a timer... you cant do this back to back 14 times. Once a day (20 hours) for 14 days... even if you que up the event and not finish... why the heck would you want to use the drops for a card?! It'll be different if it was an actual ship.
Give me a VR bug ship hanger pet as a reward and I'd grind this que... but a f'ing admiralty card?
Just did it with 1 Character on my Main Account and 1 on my Alt Account, both runs took around 20 minutes a little more a little less, now lets see i have 59 characters in total sooo....if i wanted to do this with all my characters than....
59x20/60=19,6 Hours and 826 Runs in total.....hmmm so should i

B ) should i only finish it with 1 Character per Account and hope that the Guys over at Cryptic hopefully in the near future come to reason, see how STUPID this Unique Reward PER Character thing is and than Unlock all Event Items (Mirror/Crystaline Cataclysm/Into the Breach, and Special Mission Rewards like Shard of Possibilities, Ophidian Cain, Breen/Reman Boff) ACCOUNT WIDE as long as we have the items on at least 1 Character orrrrrr
C ) should i just say sc*** this, i PASS and pretend that there is no such event going on???
Personaly i think B ) sounds not to bad, but i could end up with C ) and A )hmmmmm i dont know, sounds a little bit to Painfull maybe??.........
So like nearly everyone here allready said including me, GET RID of that per Character for the Unique Items, Once Finished on 1 Character make it an Account Wide Unlock for all existing and Future Characters, just leave the Dill and Mark Reward PER Character so whoever wants it on more Characters can go through it Multiple Times.
CMON MAN, Even you guys should see what an EPIC FAIL it is trying to force us to do this on i dont know how many Characters if we want the Unique Reward, would ANYONE of you do that if you were in our Positions? I DONT THINK SO.
Event SHIPS / Event ITEMS, WHATS the big difference?! You made the Ships Account Wide, but you DELIBERATLY Refuse to do the same with the Unique Items, JEEEEEZ Snap out of it allready and DO THE RIGHT THING!
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event and mission rewards!!
I would use as many words, but it would be helpful if either:
1) These events didn't take 20 minutes a day per toon if we're staying as it is and having to have each toon unlock the reward. No one ever complained about the CC event because it only take 5 minutes of investment per day per toon.
2) Leave it as 20 minutes, but decrease the days to 7 and leave the 21 day window. At least weekend players can handle that, albeit probably not on more than 6 toons.
3) Make it an account unlock and make everyone happy.
This'll be fun in the Odyssey, though I may have to switch to the Defiant for this one
Been there, done that, as long as you know how to pilot you'll be fine.
You should try the Bomber T'Varo. Pretty effective once you get past the first stretch.
Also quite useful for freeing hostages.
At 130+ marks it is a good event to stock up on specific marks.
At advanced the HP are roughly 2.5-3x higher and the few elite marks are not really worth the extra 5-10 minute effort.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Honestly, now that I've actually managed to finish the damn thing, I'm beginning to question the wisdom of trying to do it on even one character. Used to be fun on Elite back in the old days, now it's not fun even on Normal.
What's changed? *hasn't gotten to play it yet*
Well, for one, there's the fact that there's only one way to go while doing the first stage. Then there's the fact that the timed nature of the event strongly encourages a 'go FAW or go home' mentality as you want to finish the first stage as quickly as possible. Then there's the fact that the big prize at the end of the event somewhat encourages leeching. Then there's the Citadel mysteriously being bumped up to level 60 when the players are down at 50, which is annoying in its own right but becomes even more irritating when you remember the timed nature of the event.

1. Actually, people complained about the CC and mirror events too - specifically about the part where any future characters were screwed. It's only that the impossibility of getting this for current alts within any sane amount of time has increased the amount of complaining.
2. See 1. Still, it's better than nothing...
3. Where do I sign?
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
I would have liked a doff, kit power, or special equipment as a reward. A card is only so valuable to me. Not a great motivator to run the event in my opinion.
This mission is one of the reasons I'd like to see 360 missiles or torpedoes ingame.

Per the blog, and supported by people who've played the new version, they removed all but one of the paths. So now you can't send individual players to do their own lane.
This was apparently done to simplify the mission, but seems to have just made it more difficult and/or take longer to complete according to reports.
I'll try it sometime this weekend, but my fears and misgivings about it are back in play after reading the forums.
Sounds like DPS or go home from what I'm hearing. My Sci captains won't enjoy that...

Pretty much make a bunch of high DPS FAW boats and have them spam that FAW down the first corridor and then split up at the end and spam more FAW to get past the first part as quickly as possible.

well, what I was getting at is that I don't really see how that makes it harder or longer, but I haven't tried it yet.

First part: Everything works with BFAW and space magic being the most effective.
Second part: BFAW is possible, but science and stealth bombing rules surpreme
Last part: Anything goes.

This event makes me rather angry, so I go with C. Same as with (most of?) the Mirror events.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
I found the first part I had little to do in my sci/torp bomber as the BFAW guys nuked everything before i could fire, but no biggie really.
Now the second part inside......hahahha, science rules in there! Grav well the Voth and blow the whole lot in one volley of torps, even the cruisers couldn't keep up with that. And the citadel didn't stand a chance once it got a tykens rift dropped on it and was being hit with iso-cannon shots with max aux power and prtg.
Payout was pretty neat too, over 200 marks once the daily bonus was added in. So for a single run each day that's probably over 3000 marks per character. Not too shabby.
For those whining about the need to run it on multiple alts....well you chose to have so many so you gotta put the work in. Nobody said it would be an easy ride having so many alts and keeping them all up to date.
It's your choice, you put the work in.

It's not too long really. At least if your team isn't dumb. I did two runs and in both I saw peeps get crushed when the subpower core relays closed.... Do NOT go inside the subpower cores! You will get smooshed when it closes! Also, the hangar doors and ships you save do NOT require you to kill the Voth first! just fly over, interact and unleash hell on the Voth.

it was just a matter of time before someone showed up defending that nonsense...what took you so long.....anyway
We are allowed and encouraged to have more than just one or a few characters, cause more chars= more potential buys, BUT we should not be Punished that we do so. With the Event Ships they made the right decision, what makes this different?
You can call it "whining" as much as you want, we have a valid point that they should take seriously.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event and mission rewards!!

while I do favor the idea of making the special event reward an account unlock, calling it "punishment" to need to do the event on each character is hyperbolic theatrics.

you can either pick your one or a few chars to do it, or if you want to do it on all to actually get the shiny on all - and if you have more chars than the avarege player - than you are sc*****, so you either take it one some, completly pass on it, or go through hell, dont know how you call that, but i see it as punishment for having so many characters, and i repeat myself, WHAT is the difference between Event SHIPS and Event ITEMS? Why make the one Account Wide but the other only per Character? (again ONLY talking about the Unique Rewards NOT the dill or the Marks) thats one hell of a inconsistence that i just dont understand sorry, and iam sure most people think the same.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event and mission rewards!!
yeah, ok, but how does that equate to being "punished"?
how does it not? its nearly, or in my case totaly impossible for me to get it on all characters, unless i go full TRIBBLE and say goodbye to my reallife and do nothing but playing 24hourse until iam done (either with the event, or with my sanity) if i only had maybe 2-3 chars all would be fine, but i have far more, and the "per character" system is basically punishing me for what i have, i dont know how else you want me to explain it, in the end we both agree that such Unique Rewads SHOULD be Account Wide Unlocked, but we use different words therefore i dont want to start a heated discussion about that.
Exclusivity can go to hell, no one ever asked for that nonsense, but anyway, IF they have to do that exclusivity nonsense than it SHOULD be for people who were not around during the event AND have not participated in it and NOT for people who did it on at least one character.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event and mission rewards!!
Having just done this event a couple of times, I am actually puzzled at Cryptic's decision to make it an event PVE. The Breach was already know as one of the longest PVE queues - entertaining as an occasional diversion, but not something to be repeated often. The so-called changes that have made to 'streamline' it are frankly minor, and don't really do anything at all to shorten the queue.
As such, it seems bizarre that this lengthy and involved PVE was chosen as an event queue. Event queues/tasks are normally meant to be reasonably short and low effort - like Crystalline, Mirror (to an extent) or the daily OmegaScan/Icerace/Jetpack course. They are short and sweet to entice people to log on for a fortnight for a one-off goodie, in the hope they'll stay.
Doing this event more than once/twice isn't particularly fun. It frankly feels like a lot of work, and its only day one. The comments I have seen in the channels ingame closely mirror this - they are almost exclusively negative - and some are too saucy to repeat on the forum.
In this regard, its evidentally unreasonable to do this event on more than one char. A shame, as I had hoped to get that nice shipcard on a few characters. I'm not willing to subject myself to this PVE repeatedly for that.
Some interesting suggestions have been made (make the card an account unlock, reduce the number of days required, etc), which merit considering. Otherwise this is just going to create bad feeling.
Worse than Mirror Event. At least in Mirror all you had to do was wait if you failed or succeeded in your objectives. This one is gated by actual performance and if you do well, you still have to spend 15 minutes on it. If you DON'T do well, it could take a half hour.
It's not too long really. At least if your team isn't dumb. I did two runs and in both I saw peeps get crushed when the subpower core relays closed.... Do NOT go inside the subpower cores! BTW, my two runs today were in T6 Gurambas.
But if you do fly into the core, you will get promptly killed by the cold underworld, or so the combat log says.

My character Tsin'xing
First part: Everything works with BFAW and space magic being the most effective.
Second part: BFAW is possible, but science and stealth bombing rules surpreme
Last part: Anything goes.
This event makes me rather angry, so I go with C. Same as with (most of?) the Mirror events.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
BTW, my two runs today were in T6 Gurambas.

it was just a matter of time before someone showed up defending that nonsense...what took you so long.....anyway
We are allowed and encouraged to have more than just one or a few characters, cause more chars= more potential buys, BUT we should not be Punished that we do so. With the Event Ships they made the right decision, what makes this different?
You can call it "whining" as much as you want, we have a valid point that they should take seriously.
My character Tsin'xing
you can either pick your one or a few chars to do it, or if you want to do it on all to actually get the shiny on all - and if you have more chars than the avarege player - than you are sc*****, so you either take it one some, completly pass on it, or go through hell, dont know how you call that, but i see it as punishment for having so many characters, and i repeat myself, WHAT is the difference between Event SHIPS and Event ITEMS? Why make the one Account Wide but the other only per Character? (again ONLY talking about the Unique Rewards NOT the dill or the Marks) thats one hell of a inconsistence that i just dont understand sorry, and iam sure most people think the same.
My character Tsin'xing
how does it not? its nearly, or in my case totaly impossible for me to get it on all characters, unless i go full TRIBBLE and say goodbye to my reallife and do nothing but playing 24hourse until iam done (either with the event, or with my sanity) if i only had maybe 2-3 chars all would be fine, but i have far more, and the "per character" system is basically punishing me for what i have, i dont know how else you want me to explain it, in the end we both agree that such Unique Rewads SHOULD be Account Wide Unlocked, but we use different words therefore i dont want to start a heated discussion about that.
Exclusivity can go to hell, no one ever asked for that nonsense, but anyway, IF they have to do that exclusivity nonsense than it SHOULD be for people who were not around during the event AND have not participated in it and NOT for people who did it on at least one character.
But if you do fly into the core, you will get promptly killed by the cold underworld, or so the combat log says.
