Okay all.. The STOL system has been pretty stable since about 9:am CST. I've been able to re-run Sunrise, Stormbound,, and 4 of the Iconian Story arc, that I seemed to have missed on this toon.
So.. I am in "Midnite" did the Time travel thingy back, as so eloquently put ".. approximately 200,000 years".. met every body, listened to Sela's complaining, retrieved the "World Heart", fought the bad guys, saved the Iconians, and then Sela does her stuff..
So, back into space, reopen the portal, and BAM !!! back to this morning and "GameClient Not Responding"

OKAY.. I have a theory, so I have a QUERY for other Players:
(1) How many of you, that have logged this issue, are flying the Breen T6 Dread Rezreth when you experience the problem ????
All 9 of my toons are flying it, all of them have GameClient not responding issues. NONE of them had this issue this frequently flying other ships... I'lll be changing ships on a couple of my toons to test this theory.
Maybe all these TRIBBLE crashes are related to the T6 Dread being missplaced on the screen ?? I dunno, but I will test..

Okay.. So, I have been playing 2 toons that are NOT flying the Breen T6 Dread since the above GameClient not responding, with no incidents at all, then..
I then switched to a Rom/KDF that IS flying the Breen T6 Dread, loaded fine; went into a Red Alert, fine, however, when I left the RA, game borked and the below GameClient Not responding and subsequent re-log.

So, an imperical observation would indicate:
(1) GameClient Not responding has NOT occurred when the ship transition maps from System to System, i.e. DS9 Orbit to Qo'Nos Orbit;
(2) Most instances of GameClient Failure has the Dread in SECTOR space (misplaced to the bottom of the screen) and then transitioning BACK to SECTOR space.. It could be the "Object" of the Dread being incorrectly located on Sector maps, hangs up GameClient due to "Object not Found"
(3) I was "stuck" at the KDF Starbase orbit for 18 hours on one toon, with a Dread, and an error message I received was "Player Object could not be found", or words to that effect.. This happened while I was working on the ship mastery..

Trendy said last week it appeared to be client side and they were looking into it further. No updates since then though. They may be waiting to see if today's patch fixes it. I wish I could offer the exact times but it's only one character and it was the first character I logged into after the new season started and into DS9 interior. I doubt more time/info really helps at this point but if I get a chance I'll try it tonight just the same. If nothing else to see if anything changed with this patch.
I tend to have long load times upon trying to beam down to DS9 all the time, since the Ep revamps there, it hangs around 90 - 97%.
My workaround so far has been to click the "Window application" button thats hidden in the top-right until moused-over. After the screen re-sizes and the GPU sorts out ST:O it miraculously loads up. Also works for New Romulus ground too, just pop it back on fullscreen and off I go.
Personally I'll keep my tabs on it so I can post dates and times next to be more accurate.

This is happening to me right now. I tried to zone into Deep Space 9 and I started at 2004 US Central Time, it's now 2026 and I'm still zoning and not finished.

I usually have trouble zoning in to Deep Space 9. And I've tried it from 3 different computers (two desktops, one laptop) and I get the same thing with all of them at Deep Space 9. It has taken as long as 30 to 40 minutes to zone in.

EDIT: Update, it's now 2052 US Central (8:52PM for civilians), and I'm STILL zoning into Deep Space 9. The numbers in the corner of my screen now say "9800" but it was hung up on "9790" for about 15 minutes.
EDIT2: US Central, not US Eastern. I have to use US Eastern at work because who I work for so that becomes automatic for me sometimes.
EDIT3: Well, at 60 minutes (2104 US Central, 9:04PM for civilians) of trying to zone in, it finally tossed me completely. I'm getting "Server Not Responding" now and I'm pretty sure it's because my login has timed out from being inactive for an hour.
EDIT4: I'd like to emphasize that this happens on multiple systems I have here at the house. My primary gaming system has an i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and an nVidia GTX 660Ti graphics card, the game is loaded in an SSD, and the system runs Windows 7 and I've had long loading times into Deep Space 9 with it. The system I was JUST using and posted about has an 8-Core AMD CPU, 16GB of RAM, an ATI video card (not sure what kind, I logged back in and I'm looking at the Loading screen again), the game is loaded on a regular HDD, and the system runs Windows 10. So the two of them don't really have a lot in common, and I get the same problems on both. Completely different graphics drivers, hard drive versus SSD, OS level different, CPU different, amount of RAM different... It's going to be really difficult to make me believe this is a problem with my system.
Just got it... 12:40pm Eastern time. Lasted ~5 minutes. phazed@ph4zed on ds9. The counter goes to 97.00 and then very sloooooowly goes to 97.01... 97.02... ZZzzzzzzz. Took me forever to find this damn post though... Seems like it should be in the support forums *grumble*
Just logged on and it happened again. 9:54pm eastern time. phazed@ph4zed on ds9. Stuck for much shorter this time. Was at 98.11 for about 1 minute, then 98.11 for another short pause, and then it went to 100%

One question I have to this problem. Is there an official way to expand this memory limit of the game client from 1.5/2GB to 4GB?
There's a flag that you can set on the executable to enable it to use 4 GB. Some runtimes use the high bit of an address internally, which is why Windows doesn't just assume that it's safe.
Alternatively, they can compile the client as a 64 bit app. That means doubling the size of every pointer, and bigger code is often slower code.
Whenever I've noticed longish loading times, my hard disk's started thrashing. (That might be something to look into.)
I get crashes on loading screens consistently ever since the Crimson driver came out; I have rolled the driver back, disabled just about everything, yet I still get DC'ed on loading screens. Changed in-game settings; changed out-of-game settings; tried using Arc client instead of Steam; tried all sorts of tips and tricks (I'm not a computer newb, either, some of these tips were quite technical), and STILL I get DC'ed.
A big clue as to what the problem seems to be, however, is when I open my Library in Steam, right-click on the game, choose "Properties," then "Local Files," then "Verify Integrity of Game Cache." Whenever I do this the result I get is, "2 files failed to validate and will be reacquired." When I then start STO the launcher apparently gets those 2 files and THEN starts the game... but I still get those crashes nonetheless. It's VERY FRUSTRATING.
The problem appears to be with coding, and since STO is the only game which gives me problems since I updated the Crimson driver I would say the solution is evident. I would offer to come fix this problem myself, but then I'd only be plugging one hole while a million others open up, QED.

Fortunately for my sanity, relogged and the story picked up where I left off.. So, besides the "GameClient Not Responding issue, the only other issue I have is:
Why, oh why, couldn't I have pushed Sela off one of the platforms the first time she wanted to argue ?? Or maybe a "friendly fire" incident back in the park she seemed so "fond" of..??/

OKAY.. I have a theory, so I have a QUERY for other Players:
(1) How many of you, that have logged this issue, are flying the Breen T6 Dread Rezreth when you experience the problem ????
All 9 of my toons are flying it, all of them have GameClient not responding issues. NONE of them had this issue this frequently flying other ships... I'lll be changing ships on a couple of my toons to test this theory.
Maybe all these TRIBBLE crashes are related to the T6 Dread being missplaced on the screen ?? I dunno, but I will test..

Okay.. So, I have been playing 2 toons that are NOT flying the Breen T6 Dread since the above GameClient not responding, with no incidents at all, then..
I then switched to a Rom/KDF that IS flying the Breen T6 Dread, loaded fine; went into a Red Alert, fine, however, when I left the RA, game borked and the below GameClient Not responding and subsequent re-log.

So, an imperical observation would indicate:
(1) GameClient Not responding has NOT occurred when the ship transition maps from System to System, i.e. DS9 Orbit to Qo'Nos Orbit;
(2) Most instances of GameClient Failure has the Dread in SECTOR space (misplaced to the bottom of the screen) and then transitioning BACK to SECTOR space.. It could be the "Object" of the Dread being incorrectly located on Sector maps, hangs up GameClient due to "Object not Found"
(3) I was "stuck" at the KDF Starbase orbit for 18 hours on one toon, with a Dread, and an error message I received was "Player Object could not be found", or words to that effect.. This happened while I was working on the ship mastery..
2) Earth Spacedock (logged out there, this delay was while logging a character back in)

I am fairly certain the point in including the time is so they can check the logs to see what was going on behind the scenes that may be affecting the game.
Trendy said last week it appeared to be client side and they were looking into it further. No updates since then though. They may be waiting to see if today's patch fixes it. I wish I could offer the exact times but it's only one character and it was the first character I logged into after the new season started and into DS9 interior. I doubt more time/info really helps at this point but if I get a chance I'll try it tonight just the same. If nothing else to see if anything changed with this patch.
My workaround so far has been to click the "Window application" button thats hidden in the top-right until moused-over. After the screen re-sizes and the GPU sorts out ST:O it miraculously loads up. Also works for New Romulus ground too, just pop it back on fullscreen and off I go.
Personally I'll keep my tabs on it so I can post dates and times next to be more accurate.

Time Finished: I'm still trying to finish, it's just sitting there.
I usually have trouble zoning in to Deep Space 9. And I've tried it from 3 different computers (two desktops, one laptop) and I get the same thing with all of them at Deep Space 9. It has taken as long as 30 to 40 minutes to zone in.

EDIT: Update, it's now 2052 US Central (8:52PM for civilians), and I'm STILL zoning into Deep Space 9. The numbers in the corner of my screen now say "9800" but it was hung up on "9790" for about 15 minutes.
EDIT2: US Central, not US Eastern. I have to use US Eastern at work because who I work for so that becomes automatic for me sometimes.
EDIT3: Well, at 60 minutes (2104 US Central, 9:04PM for civilians) of trying to zone in, it finally tossed me completely. I'm getting "Server Not Responding" now and I'm pretty sure it's because my login has timed out from being inactive for an hour.
EDIT4: I'd like to emphasize that this happens on multiple systems I have here at the house. My primary gaming system has an i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and an nVidia GTX 660Ti graphics card, the game is loaded in an SSD, and the system runs Windows 7 and I've had long loading times into Deep Space 9 with it. The system I was JUST using and posted about has an 8-Core AMD CPU, 16GB of RAM, an ATI video card (not sure what kind, I logged back in and I'm looking at the Loading screen again), the game is loaded on a regular HDD, and the system runs Windows 10. So the two of them don't really have a lot in common, and I get the same problems on both. Completely different graphics drivers, hard drive versus SSD, OS level different, CPU different, amount of RAM different... It's going to be really difficult to make me believe this is a problem with my system.

There's a flag that you can set on the executable to enable it to use 4 GB. Some runtimes use the high bit of an address internally, which is why Windows doesn't just assume that it's safe.
Alternatively, they can compile the client as a 64 bit app. That means doubling the size of every pointer, and bigger code is often slower code.
Whenever I've noticed longish loading times, my hard disk's started thrashing. (That might be something to look into.)
A big clue as to what the problem seems to be, however, is when I open my Library in Steam, right-click on the game, choose "Properties," then "Local Files," then "Verify Integrity of Game Cache." Whenever I do this the result I get is, "2 files failed to validate and will be reacquired." When I then start STO the launcher apparently gets those 2 files and THEN starts the game... but I still get those crashes nonetheless. It's VERY FRUSTRATING.
The problem appears to be with coding, and since STO is the only game which gives me problems since I updated the Crimson driver I would say the solution is evident. I would offer to come fix this problem myself, but then I'd only be plugging one hole while a million others open up, QED.
