Kind of wish the Frigate Pets were Frigate sized, but so far i've been eating my early criticisms. Good job guys. ;)

First weekend sale of new ships usually discounts 500 zen and this one is 600 zen since they used the 20% off Black Friday discount. So, "it's only 100 less zen than [usual first weekend sale of a new ship]."

What happend to the "first weekend sale"? I missed the blackfriday offer... but would like to buy the ship now for the usual introduction discount. But there is no discount anymore :(
Is this a bug because of the blackfriday offers?

Although there are plenty of ships over Earth to compare the new Jupie with, I was still amazed when the Enterprise dropped by to "assist" during a system patrol in... Japori, was it? The new Jupie dwarves even the Oddy! Great design, and fun to fly

And people saved 100 zen because of the Black Friday sale. Wiiin! ^^
Hehe, try comparing it to a Kara. :D

I just love how the Jupe is now the largest Starfleet ship, and it's still dwarfed by the Romulan ships.

I Galactica'ed mine up. I have one wing of advance peregrines and one wing of advanced callistos (although I was considering advanced runabouts or yellowstone instead of the latter).

Currently using Herald antiproton turrets all over her (with the smokey trail effect). I'm not overly invested in this toon so don't have any rep gear yet. Thinking of possibly going protonic or torpedo boat with it so I can slot the gravimetric photon torp and just throw up grav wells everywhere.

I think the Jupiter looks like a massive Starfleet-like Planet Express Ship

Where could I submit ideas for community ships like this one? I have a couple of ideas but I don't have any knowledge/expertise in computer programming or modelling to bring it to life on a computer.

Anyone noticed how the saucer looks like a stretched talon class/delta flyer ?
I really believe this must be the ugliest starship around so far :P

You could try putting it in factional discussion pages (Federation/Klingon/Romulan Discussion, in the Feedback section) - who knows, if you generate enough interest you could get a few people replying to it!

would it be possible to make the odyssey bridges available for use with this ship as the outward structure suggest a bridge of similar structure to that ship, the bridges are the aquarius bride and odyssey.

You know whats even more insulting than not making a KDF carrier to go with this? the following is from the blog ' Starfleet players have access to plenty of Escort and Cruiser options, but not very many Science ships and even fewer Carriers.'

Starfleet players have limited science ships?, if what the feds have is considered not many Cryptic really dont have a clue, the Feds have many sci choices suitable to fit any role a sci player would want. They need to look at the KDF (and Roms), at last count neither faction had a single T6 sci ship ( or carrier, and the last new KDF carrier was the Karfi, and that was what? nearly 4 years ago now?)

As i said in my previous post it just feels like annother case of SSDD over at Cryptic HQ.

well....as always....K.D.F.....the red headed TRIBBLE child is left out ....as always...never fix the bugs from the get go ..I'm guessing they just want us Klinks to give up and go to the blue side...the power in the game is really geared towards them...give them all the powers of the KDF....give them more ships....better story lines and equipment...what eva they want...pfttttttttttt

Since Trendy just said that she is trying to convince the devs to make those ships, your statement makes no sense. Currently no one is working at anything. And how many years of patience is enough exactly ? :D

It took us... alot of time to get carriers distributed to the Federation after the first KDF Carrier... nuff said. But, even if they aren't actually working on it, the whole "more KDF and Rommie ships" thing has been going on for a very long time, but such things requires time and patience, not complaints that easily get old after awhile.

this is true as you said "more KDF and Rommie ships" thing has been going on for a very long time, but such things requires time and patience, not complaints that easily get old after awhile......but this is coming from a fed...and exactly how far do you think it should continue to go on????????????sheeeze

Aww. When I firsts saw this on the launcher I was excited. Then I saw that it wasn't the Jupiter dreadnought but some really really terrible crudtastic sci-carrier. I could never go back to a carrier with only 3/3 weapons. Especially.. I say ESPECIALLY with how utterly stupid the pet AI STILL is after SIX years.

If this had been the old Jupiter dreadnought I'd have totally bought this baby right then and there. I absolutely loved the look of that big gal. But this? Meh.. just another flat fed ship, nothin' special here, folks. Heck, this thing looks like a slightly elongated heavy cruiser with the fancy "new" swept look to everything. Just meh... so much meh. Oh, sure, it's big.. but still.. all the meh.

I wish there had been a vote to keep the old Jupiter dread and just spruce 'er up a bit and make her playable. That woulda been great. I wanted that ship for AGES. I suppose this just means I'll never get one as it's suddenly being replaced by this clunker.

It's so underwhemling.. it truly is just a giant, and I do mean GIANT, waste of resources the way it is now. Both on the dev's part in real life and on the Fed's part in game... And have I mentioned that it just looks like a scaled up and elongated heavy cruiser? Oh, I have? Oops. Ah well. It's just immensely underwhelming in all aspects, aesthetics, weapons, boff stations, stats, and traits.

Definitely not a replacement for my JHDC. Not even close. Heck, I wouldn't recommend this as a replacement for anything below T4, and you can't even use it at that point. It's just that cruddy.

I don't suppose you've ever used the Voquv or other T5 Carrier? Not Dreadnought Carrier, just a plain and simple Carrier. The stats and BOff stations reflect a carrier perfectly*, and if it didn't have the hangar bays it would be given the moniker of a science vessel. Because you know what? Even Science Vessels at T6 have a measly 3/3 weapons slots, but they are perfectly viable for exotic/torp DPS builds.

Your use of the JHDC has skewed your view of what a carrier should be and have, although it's none of my business whether or not you think it's worth the time to develop - because after all, I have it and DO enjoy using it. I suppose I'm biased towards the opposite direction, since I've never the (dis)pleasure of owning a JHDC, but to say that it is underwhelming in comparison to what was an "I-Win" ship back in the day is a little unfair to say the least.

I have to disagree about the six year part - although the game is coming into it's sixth year, pet AI (in the current state at least) hasn't been around that long.

*Completely and utterly a personal opinion.

I just thought I'd add this. I've had the Jupiter since it launched, and I've not seen reason to change it.....why? Yesterday I went into a Fleet Alert, and for some unknown reason 2 players left immediately, then a third. I decided to play on with the remaining guy.....'Not got a chance' some people would say, well, we pasted it and won easily. I took one side, the other guy took the other and we won without the Starbase getting knocked offline! I'm running the Sunrise set, 1 Spire Phaser console, 3 Neut +Turns, and various power boosting Rep consoles plus Leech, with Elite Delta's and Adv Callistos. This ship is just awesome!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

My Jupiter is mainly RPG homage to Galactica. Currently has 3 spire phaser locator consoles, quad cannons, wide arc dhc up front with turrets everywhere else. I'll be sticking in the biomolecular heavy turret on soon so I can get the damage upped with the bonus that comes from the 2 piece with the hydrodynamic compensator. I've got 2 fleet rcs consoles and the r&d RCS on the engineering consoles. I also have taken the odd step of setting pilot as my primary specialization in a bid to neuter the ships inherent weakness. She sees to turn okay. Quite good fun to barrel roll her.

So now that you guys have your hands on this ship, what kinds of builds are you all using with this? Because I just don't see how this ship works with that boff layout.

Designs in testing are Attack Pattern Based ENG build with one set beam fighters and another set cannon fighters. This one just rolls out more fighters as they squish. The other is a SCI-DOFF SCI build with frigates and fighters to defend the ship. Both are effective builds in ADVANCED so far, but not in ELITE. Also, the frigate pets are a huge disappointment. Even at ELITE they basically do nothing. I was wondering if they had the quad cannon, the second turret, and HYT3 - would they still be so lame because of the horrible AI? At this point my similar Breen-based full carrier is much more effective on the full SCI build because of the decent synergy with the whole Breen set and the 4 Breen consoles, and various POLARON stuff.
