At first I was kind of excited. New content, new episodes, and easier ways of getting to 60 with my remaining 3 younglings sounds very good.
And then yesterday happened, with the new Star Wars trailer. That definitely shook up what excitement really means for me.
So right now? Let it come, I'll enjoy what I find fun after my first time messing with it and the rest I will gladly ignore. Like any other season update ever to be honest.
I can't remember ever being so indifferent in regards to a season launch in STO as I am now. I literally just don't care. It's just more of the same old, same old.....nothing new that could really make me feel excited. I don't feel that any particular creativity was brought in S11 and they really ought to be more creative with the game and stuff they implement if they want to get people really excited about STO.
As it stands, my reaction to S11 is "meh, whatever".
I'm not too thrilled about season 11 and even less so about T7 ships. I have to save up all the dil and all the zen in anticipation for the T8 ships coming next year, so when they obsolete even the mighty T7s next year, I'll be ready.

Where is this talk of T7 ships coming from I'm hearing of now lately, They coming out with T7 already!?

As far as proof and not just talk, nowhere to be found and I hope it stays that way. But I agree, with all this talk of T7s these days, you'd think it was coming out with season 11.

Yeah I certainly hope not, at least another year should be allowed to pass before that is done again, if ever!

That day should never come at all. It's time to stop obsoleting other ships. THIS FAR!!! NO FURTHER!!!

Command, Intel, Pilot, and their ilk were the price we paid to allow T6 to be the tier that never runs out of seating arrangements. T7 would mean I'm only flying what I've got and free event ships if I'm still flying at all.
This is my Risian Corvette. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
I plan to take the whole day off FROM the game. I have zero confidence that it won't be a bug infestation the first day of launch. I might have to wait a few days in fact until the emergency fix shutdowns are complete before even trying.
Is it me, or is S11 almost shaping up to be a "season of the Alt"...
Been poking a couple of my "fairly neglected but semi-important" alts to 52 in anticipation of the Admiralty System, which is going to be a "fairly easy" path to 60 in a relatively short while (a lot quicker than deciphering the misaligned DOff map and/or actually playing them instead of my not-maxxed-out Main...)
Also looking forward to taking my KDF "sub-main" and getting her through the story missions that I neglected to repeat ad-infinitum during the events.
Hoping that the somewhat-easier-to-reach than Undine "undine" Badlands is going to shape up as a potential replacement for dil farming over Jurassic Sphere...
Praying that there's a DS9 "retexture" more than actual "rebuild" - I'd rather not have to go through "relearning" where everything is at yet another base (that I barely use on my main anyway, but that's another story...)
And of course, winging with my son through the new content, once a week...
So, as far as my main goes, I detect a serious dose of "meh". For my alts, there's hope...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

It's only a matter of time, but it won't be Season 11, or twelve... Maybe expansion 3.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

Would be horrible considering the price pattern alone, t7s at 35 bucks and t8s at 40...anyone remember the "micro" in micro transactions? Don't forget to make those t6-u versions to get the trait that is a trait for the trait.

They keep misspelling the word macrotransaction and never corrected it.
I like what I'm seeing with the new rep. I just hope there are other ways to get Marks besides the damned queues. The Iconian Rep was sorely lacking in that regard.
The Cardassian arc had a few bad episodes in it. Just like the Romulan arc had that one particular mission.
Honestly, I never was fond of the Cardassian Arc, except for the Tribble story on Minos Korva and Rapier (which is 1 week away from becoming history). But the Cardie revamp is just a cliff-notes version of that original story that's just as bad storywise. Heck, why is it even called an Arc when each episode has different enemies? The Klingon Arc was way popular because we had B'vat as a constant antagonist. So when they redid the Cardie Arc, why didn't they make Laas the Arc Antagonist? And what happened to Gul Madred?
Geez, seems Cryptic got tired of doing the revamps and rushed the content like they did originally when STO was in Beta, rushing out the Cardassian storylines. It's like why did they even bother revamping if they were going to half-A it?
I can't say I'm excited about this new season. I see a continuation of what D.R. started.
Like others before me have said, I see the new admiralty system simply as the latest push to get us to buy MORE new ships so that we can participate.
I've already started to buy less ships than I used to, I can't keep up with all the ship packs, upgrades, fleet ships ect. ect. ect.
It's a shame, I used to enjoy ships too.
I can't keep up with all the gear upgrades either.
More and more of this game is starting to become inaccessible to me. I simply don't have the time to grind everything.
As it stands, I grind STFs and still I never have enough dilithium to go around to all the dilithium sinks.
I research builds and more and more builds presented/recommended for decent dps, require either a fortune in zen, time and grinding.
It's all about having the best epic gear, ships and builds.
I never see builds being recommended by those dps folks that the casual player can put together on the cheap.
I have no specific excitement for Season 11, no more than I had for Season 10, Season 9, Season 8 etc. The last time I was excited was with the announcement of a playable Romulan Faction, and we know how that turned out.
If Season 11 goes as we've been led to believe (exploration, less grind, more fun) then I'm in. Otherwise I'm content racing around on GTA or (in a month or two) Battlefield/Black Ops 3.
euhm... no not excited there is nothing new than just copy and paste stuff from previous story arcs.
I'll be playing ofcourse grind the new reputation tier thingie for a couple of days so I have enough marks for all the stuff that I need + getting it to tier 5 but that's it... Will be returning to pugging now and than.. helping out fleet mates and do the occasional isa run to see where my dps stands.

I think when almost all lower tier ships (but at minimum all the canon ships, the flagships, and the original Tier 5 ships) have a Tier 6 version, then it will be time to move up to Tier 7 for Cryptic. If you think about it - the Stargazer/Constellation was basically the last canon Tier 5 ship that had still been missing*, and a few months afterwards they introduced Tier 6.
I doubt they will tighten the release schedule they had so far, so I think we have still about two years.
But maybe they won't need a new tier, but instead offer just new variations of existing ships with different BO layouts?
*) aside from all the model kitbashes like the Yeager, which don't look like Cryptic will implement them.

I am really unsure if this game would survive another Delta Rising. One year into it with close observation in my friendliest of about 250 players from all different countries and standing grand me the following observation: For every single player I know who enthusiastically went for what the expansion had to offer I have two more displayed in the offline roster which turned their back on the game because of it.
… just saying.
True we also get new peeps, not tired of the grinds and somewhat excited but I simply doubt that the whole magnitude of entertainment this game offers does not justify the trouble one has to go through which would come with a Tier 7 level and power creep iteration. It barley does so now.
I really think the entire game itself would simply not be "worth" it. Sorry Cryptic.

It doesn't seem a huge season (few new stuff), but it isn't an expansion so it's kind of expected. It's still some new stuff to do so it's a good thing. I hope to see a bit more of exploration in 11.5 though.

For Cryptic it's also a question of whether STO would survive without another Delta Rising, or rather a ship tier increase. A big part of STO's financing is lockboxes because they contain ships and C-Store ships. Ships are where the real money is. But if everyone has his canon favourite ship as Tier 6 ship Fleet ship, the market is being saturated and the sales go down.
Maybe they could invent something new that makes them money via lockboxes and the C-Store, but don't give in to any illusiosn - chances are good then that you will spend as much money on STO as you do now, just on something different.
Personally I find rebuying ships with new custome parts a lot more attractive than buying some new stand-alone ships without customization options.
