While I would normally go with the sleeker alpha at first glance I’ve never been a big fan of none symmetrical nacelles placement. Speaking of nacelles, it looks to me that the betas are connected at both the back and front. Kinda wish you could vote on individual parts like stick the saucer from alpha on the beta. Some of the other designs look nice also. It would be nice to get a ¾ view of the designs as well. They might not be that far along though. Voted on the beta the saucer is funky like a fat hammer head shark and the profile view Is nice.

I always wanted a real Starfleet Designed Carrier for my Vulcan Engi Character Sarek, the Caitian Carrier was not an option mainly because of its way to heavy leaning on Science...i got the Jem Dread for him, not a SF Design but at least a not too bad Layout, but always hated the fact that a Federation Vulcan Admiral...flys a Dominion Ship...so if this new Fed Carrier will be any good, than SOLD!

Also PLEASE give this Carrier FRIGATTE Pets, Fighters are ok and fine, but also having the option to launch Frigattes would be awesome unlike the "only Fighters" on the Caitian......for this i think the Defiant would be a great Idea? I mean we have Iconic Ships like Bird of Prays and Jem Hadard Bug Ships as Pets, so why not the Defiant for this new Carrier?
or a whole new Frigatte as pet?

Seriously, this looks like it would belong in the Star Trek universe! But I am not dissing Alpha, or any of the other ships for that matter! They all look cool! Excellent job, team! #TeamBeta
none of the above. Serious. Re-examine Canon ships and stop this trend before it goes any farther.. they're all quite difficult to look at regardless of angle.
While both ships resemble others in STO the silhouette of Beta is more distinct and would be easier to pick out during combat....just in case you need to know where your ally in a carrier is.
I agree Beta is a far better choice despite some not liking the Sauser on either ship. Beta's overall design is far superior and would make for an excellent addition to the fleet. Alpha & Omega's sauser has digested any of the hull that originally existed... Also being a fan of more canon Starships I like the principle that most stuck with a 2 drive profile.
I'm confused people think we need a complete redesign for a carriers when in reality their functionally is similar to other starships except with 4-6 hanger bays instead of 2-3 as they required more crew as a support vessel. BETA supporters please vote!
Beta, Delta, and Theta are my current pics. Honestly it was a bit hard for me to choose between Alpha or Beta as they both have bits I don't enjoy. Delta kind of makes the best of both worlds. 4 nacelles which well almost all designs are and a big beefy saucer to store your fighters.
Team beta, that wide oval saucer is superior, especially for a carrier, you'd want the extra space. Alpha's looks like the worst of the Deep Space Science vessels. Just no.

What difference does that make? You've got that in the Akira/Alita. This is for a pure carrier. It's gotta be big.

I prefer Beta's profile, but I hate the saucer shape. It needs to be more rounded, like a Galaxy-class. I like Alpha's saucer, but don't like the secondary nacelles that seem to have been added as an after thought.
c'mon People have a look at that Private Design that i linked on the Previous site ( and the Escort that could be a new Frigatte Pet for it or even later a new Playable Escort) there is more than Just Alpha and Beta! If there is enough Support they may think about it!

I wasn't completely taken by either of them personally, but I prefer Beta for a number of reasons. Primarily because when i think of a Fed Carrier I want it to look large and intimidating, while the Alpha does look nice I didn't find it as intimidating as the Beta. To illustrate think of the Constitution vs Sovereign, I like both designs a lot, but to me the Sovereign always felt a bit flat and less of a WOW kind of feeling. Like in Star Trek 2009 I loved the scene when the Enterprise warps in and destroys all the Romulans' missiles (they were actually called missiles not torpedoes strangely). However you couldn't really put the Sovereign in that scene could you? It's too flat. I realise this is Alpha vs Beta but I believe that I've made my point- the Beta just feels more like a large intimidating Carrier to me.

What exactly do you mean by more modern?
Alpha is like an Intrepid with four nacelles, which I like. The saucer of Beta just looks lumpy and potatolike.
