Cardassian Revamp Episode 1

We have received intelligence that the True Way has stolen an Orb of the Prophets from the Cardassian Union in "Spoils of War" our first episode in the Cardassian Arc!

    Whilst it's great to see a revamp, it's exactly as predicted -- a considerable number of episodes removed but only 4 added in to replace them.
    Please stop shrinking the game...

    We'd love to have access somewhere to deprecated content from the Cardassian, Romulan and Klingon War arcs.

    I for one am grateful to see the bloat reduced, it makes me feel more inclined to level up a couple alts I should do. And of course look forward to the new take on an old story!

    Are we losing any accolades with the missions being removed? Or mission rewards?
    (Haven't checked them, but tossing this in here just in case.)​​

    Excellent and long overdue. I know there are plenty of (somewhat justified) jokes about "X was removed to improve the overall quality of the game", but these missions really haven't aged well and don't meet the standards set by more recent content.

    One thing though - I hope when revamping/removing these, the Devs will keep in mind the links that these missions have with other parts of the game, such as Delta recruit technologies, etc. Don't want any more broken links to be created.

    New content will become "old" soon enough.

    They are removing all the current Cardassian Arc missions (minues the 2800 series) and giving us four missins in its place.

    Missions are being removed so get your accolades now.

    On another note, I hope this revamp brings ALL the weapon types to Dominion Polaron weapons (Plus a 360 Dominion Polaron would be nice).

    The Cardassian Arc is currently a mess and most of the missions is about other things than Cardassians.
    It got a bunch of Mirror Universe related missions, some Undine stuff, Section 31 bits, a series of Dominion missions, and a Klingon/Tribble mission. None of them which are directly related to the Cardassians stories.

    While I am happy at the sound of the Cardassian arc is gonna be reworked to only be about Cardassians again, it also kinda sounds like the missions that isn't part of the Cardassian story is gonna be thrown away and removed.
    Please don't say you are gonna remove or throw away content entirely.

    Removing a bunch of missions that are seriously just bad. They have major bugs, don't fit with the style of any of the modern missions, and in general aren't very fun. Most players who are levelling alts skip past them if they have played them before, and the make a bad impression for new players. They also mostly have zero impact on the end game, so there's no point in playing them except to get XP - and the current missions after that arc give more than enough to get to 50 without them. In the end, yes, the game gets a little smaller, but it gets a lot better.

    Since this episode is merely a revamp and takes place before the Dominion arc, the proper question might be "isn't Kurland here yet?".

    How will this impact Delta Recruits who were supposed to have eternity to complete arcs? Should we rush through content if we haven't finished that on toons?

    The Cardassian story line is pretty disjointed. I could never figure out why the Klingon tribble mission wasn't part of the Klingon story line. Most of the missions I won't miss. Looks like they are leaving the "Of Bejor" mission. Easy mission, but boring.

    Captain Kurland is obviously staying on DS9 and sending one of his minions to collect the Orb.

    Yes please for more weapon types for dominion polaron.. and maybe spiral waves too? (crosses fingers) turrets and cannons maybe...pretty please?

    In all seriousness, is that Cardassia I see? Because that certainly isn't Bajor architecture in that picture. Maybe you'll add an actual Cardassian race to all factions? So that I can make a Cardassian who saves DS9 and Bajor and they hate me? Please? I'll give you livers for this to happen.

    I was sad about this...then I looked up those episodes on the wiki and realized that other than Cage of Fire, the ones I liked had absolutely nothing to do with Cardassians. Hope there's some good stuff coming.​​

    I'm usually one of the people decrying content removal from STO (and do still agreed with others who think Cryptic could just link the old missions as patrol mission somewhere in the game) - but the cardassian Arc is the ONE arc that I am glad this is happening to as it was just awful.

    If you're a Fed and don't have the Starfleet kill accolades, better start farming them now. Once they remove War Games, there goes the only way to get that accolade as a Fed.
