Wait... where is Kurland? Isn't Kurland 'here' anymore?
Kurland will always be here, in our heart.
    Please, get a surgeon.

Oh dang... So the "[bleep]... static" wasn't a good thing... Hmmm... I'll never look at that mission the same way again... And I gotta play it at least 2 more times...

Not that I play KDF, but I think they deserve a revamp before the Cardy arc does. Just sayin'...

Will this be Fed only ?? I have a KDF finishing up the Romulan one. Then I still have my Delta.

Will the "Iconian items" still be there for the Delta Recruits? I'm still working on mine, so I need to collect all the items.
    No

    Yes

    Thanks!

I didn't want to level my KDF in her BoP and Delta until the new revamp hit. So that way it will be more fresh for them, and don't have to go back and redo it. Plus like the others said the old arc was really horrible. Granted as much I didn't like the Iconian arc, the Cardassian took the cake. I'm glad they kept the ones for KDF to do. The new Romulan you only get them with Fed.

Depending on witch missions get removed I am going to be sad to see some of these go. Badlands, War Games, Shutdown, Rapier, Forging Bonds, and Seeds of Descent were some of my favorites. Hopefully most of these are just merged and remastered instead of being completely removed.

The Romulan missions were always Fed only, even before the revamp. Which is why they remained that way post revamp.

The Klingons shared a good half of the Cardassian story missions with the Feds, however. Thus, they do get access to the new Cardy revamped missions.

Adding to this, since the Kingons and Romulans (no matter their alliance) only did 7 of the 14 actual story missions in the old Cardassian arc previously, and will almost certainly get all 4 of these, the discrepancy in number of story missions per faction will essentially disappear with this revamp. Post-tutorial and before the new Cardassian arc, which will be the point at which everyone's mission selections become the same after this, Federation and Klingon players will each have 33 story missions, not counting go here and talk to someone for a tiny token amount of xp missions, and Romulans will have 37.

"Venture Into Deep Space", the mission that gives the tiny token bit of xp and directs you to Deep Space Nine, since all of your missions for the next little while will be found around there, will almost certainly remain, based on the fact that the similar missions in the Romulan Mystery and Borg Advance arcs, "Heading Out" and "Report to Battle Group Omega," remained after those arcs were revamped.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

Yeah, so Cardassian struggle will remain a struggle albeit a lot shorter. Why idiotic missions like Operation Gamma and Of Bajor are left untouched?! Especially Of Bajor, everyone HATES this mission and you will do nothing with it?

Also I presume nothing will be done with the old accolades so get them while you can people. Don't get your hopes up cryptic will do it's homework right this time.

Yup, Operation Gamma and Of Bajor are surely the worst missions in that arc. As for Op. Gamma and The Vault (from the Romulan arc) I positively LOATHE shuttle missions or anything to do with flying shuttles. They're not fun at all.

However, I'd love to see more space-walk missions like Boldy They Rode. THAT was fun.

I've been looking forward to these, most of the old missions where very buggy and a lot of them didn't even have anything to do with the Cardassians.

This revamp will very likely benefit Klingons. Klingons also have had a decent amount of revamping of their old content with Legacy of Romulus, and are reportedly scheduled for a revamp of the Fek'Ihri arc at some point soon. At that point, there will only be 6 episodes for Klingons that remain untouched from before Legacy of Romulus, if memory serves, not including the Featured Episodes that everyone shares.

Up to 19 accolades from 10 (of 14) missions possibly going away... [14 missions for Feds but Roms & Klingons only have 7 missions* affected with means 11 accolades] Rom-Feds may be able to get more accolades if they group with Feds while they do their Fed only missions.

    *Badlands - No Accolades
    Suspect - No Accolades
    Wargames - 1 Accolade
    Shutdown - 1 Accolade
    *Rapier - 3 Accolades
    *Forging Bonds - 2 Accolades
    *Long Night - 2 Accolades
Tribble with Klingons - 2 Accolades
Tear of the Prophets - 2 Accolades
*Crack in the Mirror - 2 Accolades
    *New Link - 2 Accolades
*Seeds of Dissent - No Accolades
The Other Side - 2 Accolades
Cage of Fire - No Accolades

Gonna need to grind these out on my main account...

I hope they add a good deal of voice acting to these missions, the missions often felt hollow and rushed to be honest, and a lot of my least favourite episodes where in this story arc. I replayed this story arc three times this year (twice during the Delta Recruitment event) and really noticed the poor quality compared to more recent episodes.

Looking at the picture I think the mirror universe will still be involved in the story arc, its got the sexiness of the mirror universe, it doesn't scream Cardassia or Prime Universe Bajor. Long shot maybe the Orion home world of Ter'jas Mor, after all maybe the True Way is trying to sell the orb to the Orions, but I doubt it.

    EDIT: Answered

I'll just say, let's see how the revamp plays out. Though I'm not happy about the Cardassian Arc being reduced in content like the Romulan revamp.

Yeah I think I agree with you there, as for the possible story I like the sound of it.

    As it stands now
    Fed have 108 story missions.
    Roms have 108 story missions.
    Klingons have 101 story missions.

    Post revamp
Feds will have 98 story missions.
Roms will have 105 story missions.
Klingons will have 98 story missions.

Roms are actually set to be the faction with the most story missions post revamp. This counting all the "go here and talk to X to start the arc proper" missions every faction has, and stuff like DR patrol missions which aren't "story" missions per-say, but are included in the main story progression.

Right, I wasn't counting those go here and talk to someone things as story missions, and I stopped counting at the end of the Reman FE series, since everyone will be the same after that with this revamp, Technically, they'd be the same before the Reman arc, but KDF-allied Romulans, for whatever reason, can't do the Devidian FE series until after the Reman one. The difference between our counts for Romulans' margin of missions over the others is based on the greater number of go here and talk to someone missions that they get. I was trying to compare apples to apples in the simplest way possible.

Mostly, the old arc just didn't pay out reasonable skill point/xp rewards for the effort expended.

Yeah, that was my problem with it too. When replaying the story I found I enjoyed several of the missions in the Cardassian Arc as much, and in some cases more, than newer missions.

Maybe part of it was that it wasn't completely and totally devoted to one topic as it had the Cardassians, some Section 31, and some Mirror Universe stuff... made it feel more like Star Trek, which was generally more episodic than the stuff we see in STO, and even when there was an overarching story (like with the DS9 war) they still broke things up with episodes which didn't focus solely on one single thing. I think STOs new "Arcs" fail miserably there.

Maybe part of it was that it wasn't bogged down with bad cutscenes which left a lot to be desired (and are often unskippable).

The only reason the Cardassian Arc really dragged for me was that the rewards, especially in regards to XP, were paltry and my progression slowed to a crawl. If they bumped up the XP for the Arc and left it alone otherwise I'd be happy.

No there will be more new missions, they will probably be released every month or so through the the season after the first two.

They already said the Cardy story revamp s going to launch with Season 11 in late October.

They really should highlight that kind of info. Not just me, but there are people in-game who actually thought it was going live tomarrow.
