OP claims to want a whole adventure zone removed because he thinks his mates are literally addicted to it, and people are taking it seriously...
Far too many people have withdrawn from social interactions with the community over the years due to obsessive Defera hard grinding. It's disheartening how often I try to communicate with old friends or see others try to do the same with their old friends, only to receive the curt response, "can't, defera."
Interventions don't seem to help, because of the sheer number of other folks who are also caught in this unfortunate trap of Defera hard grinding, who lure them back into that lifestyle of social isolation when they ask others to join them.
This has to end. I want my friends back, and I'm sure I'm not alone.
if you want defera removed you're doing it wrong! CLEARLY the whole game except for the tutorials should be removed, and we can simply play the exciting tutorials over and over until we drop dead from all the fun.
I find it hard to believe you're serious about this. I'm not understanding the joke, though. Could you explain it another way?
Out of all the things in STO (Oh argala comes to mind) Defara is not "grind" it's reallly simple and easy, well minus the inconvinece known as City Hard, but even then oh well.

I'm gonna have to agree on this point.
Sorry OP, but your "Good Natured" request to remove game content to "Free" people from a "Labor Camp" is falling flat.
Lets say that they do as you ask and remove Defera. Where are these people gonna go? Probably Nukara. Then you'll probably ask for the "Nukara Labor Camp" to be removed. Problem with this, Nukara is a decent source for Nukara Marks, thus important to the Nukara Rep. Now lets say they remove Nukara for your same reason. Next exodus goes to the Voth Battlezone. "Oh look! Now we have a Labor Camp here! REMOVE IT!" You just hampered players ability to get good Dilithium and Dyson Marks. Next exodus, Undine Space Battlezone. NOPE! Undine Labor Camp, REMOVE IT! There goes a good source of Undine marks. Next exodus, Kobali Prime. NOPE! KOBALI LABOR CAMP REMOVE PLZ! You just nuked a large portion of the Delta Rising story. Next exodus, the upcoming Badlands Battlezone...
Where does it end? When ALL content is removed until we just have the social zones for you to hang out with your friends and do nothing?
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

And you just nailed the problem with the "ALL GRIND IS BAD" argument. What's your definition of grind?
If it's "work for something in game" then all gameplay with rewards is bad by your standards. and when theres no rewards, that's bad too!
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
One of few places in the game when we can kick the Borg on the ground, aside of STFs. Revamped? Yes. Removed? No.

I love Defera. A new species that's not some uber powered villain. Fighting Borg in a fun and varied way. And sometimes the glitches can lead to some fun things. It's the best source for me to get BNP, but I play it for fun. Heck, I even have fun doing it daily with my Gorn.

With the events of the last FE, I'm left wondering just what is going to happen with the Borg. Just think of what the two Space STFs are based around.
It better not. I love Borg content, especially on ground. Removing that would take away a large portion of my own fun, in terms of gameplay & playing the game... given S11 is rather unappealing for me so far, thematically wise (yeah, not a fan of Mirror universe, duh & yeah, wanted more Delta Quadrant); removing those would be really a downer for me.

Pretty much. Defera is where I "grew up", as a newbie. It was good I could come & go when I wanted - no timegates, no waiting. Later on, I enjoyed coming down there to help newbies too. This is when saying "I'm sad" is not just an expression. I'm really sad and disappointed; especially if this means non-sensial timegating. This game doesn't need more of that veQ.
Frankly, Dyson Ground Battlezone got it right. Fun to do, no timegates, could join whenever you wanted, for how long you wanted...

Another causality of the metrics... Guess I better hurry up and get in there again while I can. Limited time to do so sucks, but that's why it's also a good place, it actually pays nicely to go there anytime and team up with a few folks for a quick run.
This game doesn't need more timegating and controlling when we CAN play the content we want to play. I'm sorry, but this makes me.. I don't even. I'm maybe overreacting, but it does seem this way, that's how it's gonna be. No more join when you want, beat stuff when you want. You can only do it at specific times, when the game lets you.

oh sure lets get rid of the one place i can get BNPs to fit the Jeddak with adapted maco shields and engine...
when you posted this drivel did you even CONSIDER casual players or are you so wrapped up in your "l33t" world you don't care?
For those of you railing against the OP - this was clearly what he was referring to...
Until we get more information its hard to judge, but from what I can see this looks like a pretty spiteful move by Cryptic. Timegating Defera because its popular, in some kind of attempt to push people elsewhere?
I am normally quite positive and civilised on the forums - in order to keep a productive atmosphere to encourage the devs to engage here - but this seems a very lame move.

But that's just not how it works. If they remove content we enjoy playing; it won't make us to go play some other content that we don't enjoy, for one reason or another. This is exactly what pushes people away; and I'm starting to see where that's coming from. As unfortunate as that is for me - always wanted this game to be good and fun, not just for me but for others - but recently, I feel so negative with the direction they seem to be taking... so removing content I actually ENJOY, without adding new, equally enticing for me - makes it harder to just swallow.

Whats a labor camp? I only spent lots of time in defera invasion zone ground. Not familiar with camps unless you meant the same thing.
