Should Defera Labor Camps be removed to improve the quality of the game?

Given the shocking number of players seemingly trapped on this old world, is it time to liberate them by removing the zone from the game?

    Defera is my Fleet Marks method of choice. And it is also good for levelling new characters.
    I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

    I've seen a lot of good folks I've gotten to know from various fleets, folks I even began to respect, who seem to be trapped in a cycle of grinding over at Defera. Year after year, grinding Defera hards. At first, I thought they were having fun, as they wanted me to come join them. After a few runs with them, it was clear they were basically prisoners of the Defera Labor Camp grind. It was nearly impossible to get them to leave, and they would always go back as quickly as they could if I did manage to pull them away.

    The worst part is, they seem to be wasting away -- doing it because they think it'll lead them to space riches. Most of them live a life of space poverty, as a result of their Defera incarceration. It legit makes me sad, and I would like to see them liberated, so they can regain their freedom to make better lives for themselves.

    So, basically, anyone on Defera is Playing The Game Wrong, and should be stopped for their own good? I see. I'm sorry that I (apparently) don't meet your exalted standards for STO-playing Correct Thought. The fault is entirely mine, I'm sure.

    Then that's on them.

    By your logic, we should shut down the entire game just so people won't 'waste their time' playing it.

    It's their lives, it's their time, they can spend it how they wish. Removing content because people won't stop playing it is nonsensical to put it mildly.

    It hurts a little. I was a member of {UFP} at one point, and felt compassion for my fleetmates who were trapped in the Defera hard grind. I'm actually posting this for them, to help free those people I felt needed help.

    Ironically, one of them is attacking me here today. :(

    I understand, though, the feeling of being on the receiving end of tough love. We will work this out. I just want you guys to know, I'm still here for you.

    What kind of question is that op?

    Of all the battle zones I like Defera best. Of all PvE maps I like the Borg STF best. Is it either because I favour Borg above all else or rather because those maps date back from a time when the DEVs still hat clues how fun contend looks like?

    One should not remove contend from game when hundreds or even thousands of players use it on a daily basis.

    One should simply make more contend like it.

    EDIT: If players still “grind” Defera for fleet mark needs they kinda approach this game wrong and leave out much simpler options. It is their own fault.

    Yes, it is their own fault. It's like a cycle of addiction in a lot of ways, they seem helpless to help themselves. Perhaps I am letting my compassion get the better of me, but someone has to step in and help free them from this cycle of abuse they perpetuate upon themselves. Living a life of Defera hard grinding, year in, year out, succumbing to the grind madness, and being harmful to those who try to help hem get well; it takes a toll on everyone.

    Removing the Defera Labor Camp would free them. It would free them from the Defera hard grind, and it would free them from themselves.

    While I would really love to drop a genesis device on Defera and never hear those insipid lizards waffle on about "balance" again, I don't approve of the removal of game content.

    If you don't like it, avoid it like the plague as I do.

    If the player is having fun with the content and receiving rewards they feel are fair, then they're doing it right.

    I want to test the new CE module first on those swarms of borg drones.
    Drop the shard, watch 2-3 dozen drones fire on it and enjoy the fireworks.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    It's one of the few bits of the game where the following quote can apply:

    Defera needs to be repaired, but overall I go there every now and then for fleet marks. Why? I get xp, i get omega marks and of course fleet marks and thus dil.

    I'm concerned about its removal on tribble. Defera was one of the few PVE zones that you could run with fleetmates of any level, and was a good, low pressure way to introduce newbies to the game and ground combat.

    I'm hoping its justa temporary thing to fix some of the bugs with hard. If there are serious changes, such as nerfing, or making it level-50 only zone, I will be really quite annoyed.

    if you want defera removed you're doing it wrong! CLEARLY the whole game except for the tutorials should be removed, and we can simply play the exciting tutorials over and over until we drop dead from all the fun.

    I personally dislike Defera. Doesn't mean it should be removed though.

    If your point is the gameplay/rewards of defera are lacking, why not suggest some improvements.

    Removing something is not improving it.

    The part that should be taken seriously is defera invasion zone has been completely disabled on tribble.
