so as said on the NW thread of the patch for which the maintenance was scheduled for today it 'can' to be 6 hours long....but apparently its been 1 and half hours over 6 hours already (6am PDT~9am EST, 6 hours from 9 am...3pm...its 4:30).....what gives!! o.O

If you had bothered to read previous pages, maintainance was extended to 5pm EST.

I'm cool with the downtime to make the game better. I was playing for almost a year F2P then I went lifetime because I love the game so much. Since I've gone lifetime weve had 3 expansions, graphics upgrades, etc .. So yeah for the most part I don't regret any money I've put into the game. I love STO more than ever ... Except when I get constant crashes and I'm unable to play a portion of the game content and my reports and questions about said crashes and problems go ignored.
Saying something is fixed, does not mean it's actually fixed. The Voth Ground Battlezone still crashes all the time.
I'm very happy that the lagging issues and missing voice work are getting taken care of .. but what about the stuff that is still actually broken?

Yes, because Trendy is a server admin. Or even in the same building as the servers. If these are Cryptic servers she doesn't even technically work for the same company as the ones working on the issues. Get a clue before you criticize people for doing their job.
I suppose none of you guys know how much coding and delicate care goes into making it all fit together, adding things on to something as huge as STo can either work perfectly and in snyc or it can break and clash with other code.... which is most likely what has happened with the new additions.This along with the Network and server upgrades does take its time and toll. Juts be patient and youll have your game back. eventually.
I hope this works out satisfactory and really addresses the server issues people are reporting. (I think I have gotten so accustomed to the overall performance that I don't notice anymore. But I'll bet I notice the improvement, if there is any.)

Spending my hard earned money, which goes into your paychecks, on a service that is having problems like this makes me NOT want to spend money. What's the golden rule of any business providing services to people? Make the customer happy. Happy customers = money. Unhappy customers = no money.
If I was working for PWE and in the position to do it, I'd be all over Cryptic with phone calls.

and about the 'bothering' part...im still getting used to this new look (might be weird to others...i know) especially (and i might be just over thinking or something here but...) as im rather confused as to why does the activity tab show activities from people that i dont even know or have added in my forum profile!! (unless the activity tab no longer is supposed to be individual's activity but community activity!!)... ...in other words bear with me aiight
Any idea on when we'll at least be able to start downloading the patch? Barring that, could you at least say about how big the patch is? I'm worried that with the extended maintenance that if it is a somewhat large patch, I won't be able to get it downloaded and still have time to play today, so it'd be nice to plan ahead to find something else to do today.
The last thing I want to do is sit here waiting for the patch server to come up only to find it's a 2+ gig download. Which with everyone else hammering the patch server at the relative same time would mean my already slow download speed would become even slower. Making even a 500mb patch likely require 2-3 hours.
The patch notes look small so it could end up being a fairly small patch. Which is what I'm hoping for.
The reason why the maintenance window was extended was due to the presence of an issue specifically with patching. That's what we're looking into right now.
I'd rather the game be down all day, so they can fix an issue that could potentially cause alot of harm, than for them to rush it and end up letting say this issue with the patcher through.
pwlaughingtrendy, you keep up the good work, and thank you very much for keeping us up to date, there are some of us gamers who do appreciate and are thankful for the work you do.
