... why buy another version of the same ship? My T5 can still do massive amount of damage. I don't like the idea of buying the ship all over again.
Then don't buy it. Some of us didn't get it the first time around. My main characters are my Roms, so while I liked the Mogh and Avenger I never felt compelled to actually buy them. With this package, I might. Maybe. Or not. (Was never really a Mogai fan, either, so...)
Edit 1: Just realized, if I got the pack, I'm stuck with this ugly bashed-in-face Klink tinkertoy, unless I spring for the Mogh anyway.
Edit 2: T6 Mogai is a 4/3? Hmm, well, at least the trait might make my Aelahl competitive again - OP buff to EPtW x Loads of ENG stations? Tasty.

The klingon one is THAT ugly, it's stylish again. I mean, it looks good on it, because it seems to be that ugly and bulky on purpose. The Fed ships seem just to be ugly because the designers don't care...
Y'know....the Arbiter is ugly...but it's sooo ugly to me it kind of loops back around to looking kinda cool. I actually love the saucer section. In some ways it's better looking to me than the Avenger. It has more personality or something. I can't really put my finger on it, but I like it.
Why are people surprised the T6 Mogai has 3 rear wep slots? The Tier 5 one also has 3 rear wep slots.

Probably just because it is getting lumped into this 'battlecruiser' pack and the Mogai has always been a 'destroyer'.
It's actually clearly stated in the blog, the Feds and KDF are getting a T6 variant of the Avenger and Mogh Battlecruisers and the Roms are getting a T6 variant of the Mogai Warbird.
Battlecruiser = 5/3 Warbird = 4/3 - I guess they figure the addition of a Rom Battlecloak and SRO stacking, makes up for the 1 less weapon.
The Arbiter is not the most elegant ship but I'm already getting past that, as elegance isn't what I look forward to most anyway. Regarding the Kurak, I'd keep the black skin, but trade the head and the nacelles for the classic Mogh. In addition to beging disappointed that the Negh'tev's deflector dish and impulse engines are yellow, now the nacelles on the Kurak as well. RED, not yellow is the Klingon's faction color. In ST:The Undiscovered Country, there are green nacelles on the K'tinga and they don't look too bad. WHY YELLOW?! Back to the issue. These battlecruisers, especially the Klingons aren't designed to win beauty contests, they are designed to win... battles.
If the Sovereign skin could have been used then I'd have gone for it, also "Like our previous Iconic ship bundle, all three of these new ships have been given a 2410 visual update", it's a little early to be calling the Avenger iconic and updating its visuals isn't it?

I don't disagree with that reasoning, and I'm not particularly upset by the layout. Since I haven't been a Mogai fan, I've only used it while leveling alts and for the Valdore console. It just changes my question from "Do I want to buy this to fly?" to "Do I want to buy this for the trait?"
Tho so far Rom 'battlecruisers' (i.e. D'D and Aelahl) are 4/4, not 5/3. But again the whole warbird/battle cloak/sing core thing makes direct comparisons iffy. *shrug*.

AFAIK, the Mogai has a far better turn rate than the Battlecruisers. Tun Rate 9 vs 14. That's a reason why Escorts/Destroyers have less weapon slots in general than Cruisers - they can bring their arc-limited weapons to bear better.
Of course, if you're using single beams with BFAW, it doesn't matter what turn rate you have. But back in the good old days, when men were men and small furry animals from Alpha Centauri where small furry animals from Alpha Centauri, this could matter a lot because Dual Heavy Cannons was where the real damage was coming from.
I don't think that cloaking capabilities matter much in the balance for Cryptic. At least not whine it comes to weapon slots. It tends to affect hull and shields more.
Back in the good old days [...], Klingon battlecruisers were basically always superior to Fed Cruisers (not that anyone cared) - cloak capability, better turn rate, DHCs. Only the Cruiser Commands changed that a bit.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
I like the Romulan one, I don't even mind the KDF Lego brick, but I'm scratching my head on the Fed version. Support structure right through the deflector dish...just...why?
I personally like the new designs. The Fed and KDF ones distinctly trading looks for firepower while Romulans stay classy. I will admit that the Arbiter does look like the lovechild of the Pathfinder and Avenger though, and could have used a better deflector design that more closely emulates the JJTrek's Vengeance (as the rest of the design pretty much echoes elements of the Vengeance, whereas the Avenger only shared the superficial side-profile of the Vengeance).
Now if only the Avenger and Arbiter were scaled up in size some, they'd work.
I still have cash waiting for a 2410 design Typhoon though. As long as it keeps the double-nacelles and angled pylons, I could care less if it looks even more angular than the Arbiter, or rips the Vengeance outright, or looks like a militarized Odyssey (cut the Odyssey's double-neck out, bringing the saucer to directly connect to the hull, double up the nacelles, and bring the nacelles closer to the lower hull angled like the NPC Typhoon). I wouldn't even bat an eyelash if it came with a useless Starship Mastery Trait (hell, sell it with a Starship Mastery Trait slot unlock instead; allowing use of a 5th Starship Mastery trait).
Unrelated: Never played Champions Online, but I guess I'm a user. And that I never posted before.

Right, well. I've learned not to trust what's posted that much and rather care for what's actually in game. (Not that there aren't many bugs as well, mind you.)
The 'Iconic ships' pack didn't contain carbon copies either, althought it at least had a more fitting name. It's true that the Mogai is closest to a destroyer, when we eschew the warbird moniker, certainly not a battlecruiser. But the important thing to remember here is that T6 versions of T5 ships keep the same stats (as the T5-U versions of the T5), barring for 1 more Boff ability slot, some specialization seat and a ship trait.

What a horrible disappointment! Why does T6 Romulan "Battlecruiser" have an escort weapon layout? There is no way it will be able to compete with something like a Faeht. A 5/3 cruiser for romulans would have been unique at least. Now it will just be another ship for the dust bin overshadowed by other far superior ships.
When they release ships in a pack like this they are usually at least on par with each other with only minor faction difference (more shields on feds, more hull on kdf, less power systems for rom, etc).
I still have cash waiting for a 2410 design Typhoon though. As long as it keeps the double-nacelles and angled pylons, I could care less if it looks even more angular than the Arbiter,
This design you are speaking of is essentially the T6 Command Battlecruisers, the Geneva, Presidio, and Concorde classes. The old NPC Typhoon class has been essentially phased out and replaced by these specific ships, and the ships themselves share many design traits with the Typhoon. In essence, these ships are probably about as close to a playable Typhoon as we're gonna get.

Because everyone seems to be missing the fact that in the dev blog about the ships, the Morrigu is still labeled as a Heavy Warbird and not a battlecruiser. The closest the Romulans have to battlecruisers are the D'deridex/D'khrella class, the Ha'apax/Haakona class, the Aelahl class, and the Baratan/Deihu/Vastam class.

I agree the Romulans don't have a true battlecruiser currently. All the more reason to take this opportunity to release a new and unique ship that fill a gap in the current the roman lineup. Instead they went with the boring 4/3 layout that has been done to death. They literally just released the Dinaes heavy destroyer a week ago with the exact same 4/3 layout and even has turn rate of 14. Why release a near duplicate ship a week later.

Quoted for truth.
And lets not forget that Romulan's already have a 5/3 Battlecruiser in the inestimable form of the Scimi. One that theFeds and Klinks never got, or one could make a point that the Scimi is the Rom version of the Avenger/Mogh I guess, which would make the Morrigu an additional ship for Roms.
I'm happy enough with it being a 4/3 layout, as I can't see that one extra weapon making that much difference to average gameplay. Of course it remains to be seen what the BOff, + XX Power and Console layout is, but if they go with something like the Mirror Mogai, I'll be a Happy Rom

While that may be true, one of the art devs posted that they weren't cutting out the Typhoon, and did have plans for it in the future. It was posted in a fairly recent (a month or so back) thread that was discussing the Typhoon being replaced in almost all missions featuring it as a standard ship. Same dev also mentioned that they were not going to remove the Typhoon from the emergency support ability.
So while not likely, there still is a chance of an updated Typhoon battleship that might undergo the same process that the Pathfinder/T6 Intrpeid did (where most of the work done for the NPC version was copied/pasted/edited and sold as a playable variant to make some quick money off it). As well, Cryptic could also use the opportunity to copy/paste/edit it for new and original T6 equivalents for KDF and Romulans.
Provided that they still do intend to update it, it would be interesting to see another allied NPC vessel (or enemy if facing on in a faction-specific mission) that will be capable of using Specialist abilities. Personally, I'd like it if it was part of a future new Specialization that specialized in getting in, tanking hard, and hitting harder (much like how tough their Fleet support versions are), called Vanguard or something. Given that the Typhoon is technically a Cryptic Original, it and its KDF/Rom equivalents could also be fully Specialized.
And lets not forget that Romulan's already have a 5/3 Battlecruiser in the inestimable form of the Scimi.
I've never heard of the Scimitar being considered as a battlecruiser before. It lacks cruiser commands and has a hanger bay. Plus 5 tac slots is rare on a cruiser.
Probably just because it is getting lumped into this 'battlecruiser' pack and the Mogai has always been a 'destroyer'
Thy just released the Dineas destroyer which appears to be almost the exact same ship. Why bother to release a very similar ship week later. It doesn't make sense.

That's assuming that the new T6 Battlecruisers will also have LtC Command Hybrid seats (either the Lt Sci or Lt Uni upgraded to LtC/Hybrid on the Arbiter/Kurak, while Morrigu either gets it on its LtC Eng or one of its other two Lt seats upgraded). If they have LtC Pilot or LtC Intel, then the comparison no longer holds.
It's also slim but possible that they could have double Lt Hybrid seats, as a reason to sell them (I'd guess Pilot/Command or Intel/Command), with the Ensign Tac being upped to Lt Tac/Hybrid and Lt Sci/Hybrid on the Arbiter/Kurak while Morrigu gets Lt Tac/Hybrid and the Ensign Sci upped to Lt Sci/Hybrid.
I do wonder though, will the firing rate boost affect Surgical Strikes?
I was really hoping they'd fold the sovereign and regent skins into this thing since from the side it seemed to have a sovie-esque profile... oh well... pass. Didn't care for the look of the avenger and this thing is not heading in the right direction.
Are we sure this is a ship? I think it's a futuristic medicine measuring spoon... you know, the ones we have that look like an alligator? The medicine is measured in that hollowed out body and comes out the deflector holes to fill that spoon of a saucer for easy measuring and administering of medication for children. The nacelles are there to hold the spoon upright if you set it down after measuring.
Does this mean we're going to see T6 versions of all the C-store ships?
I'm seeing the powercreep pull further and further away from my main's T5-U Tempest class ship and I'm left wondering when it will get something to bring it level rather than force me into picking up one of those ugly "Pilot" shuttles.

The Dinaes is a Veteran/1000 day ship, thus very limited in availability. Also, it has a far lower shield mod than Mogais and quite a different Boff layout.
