Just one thing, why do folks prefer the ship to be good-looking? If it does the job (blasting enemies to smithereens, etc.) why on earth do looks matter? It's not as if you get more XP the better looking your ship is anyway*...
*I can understand the reason for the desire for the Arbiter to at least be a looker, but the Klingons don't and have never cared much for the visual aesthetic of their ships.
I like my ships looking good and kicking rear. If a ship is just horrible, you won't catch me with it. Looks can kill that is for sure. I'm not into the DPS race, so style is my best way to decide on a ship purchase. Other than what it can do with for my character.

I loved their T5 counterparts but with all the ship releases recently and the rumours/mined t6 defiant/T'varo/Brel, I'm suffering from a possible buyers regret, I'll wait to see what else is coming and I got stung buying a command cruiser just before it went on a ship sale.
Ohh and devs please please a few more shoots of the ships in these blogs, your getting as bad a modern car commercials, lots of style but all I want it to look them over.
Where ever you go, there you are.......

I rather have the Typhoon than the new Fed ship. The new ship looks like TRIBBLE. It takes the reward for epic horrible that is for sure. The KDF is meh, I see they going with the lego look on them. Really sad too. The Romulan is the best out of these.
I will keep my T5 Avenger. Once I get around to it. I rather take the new Concord or wait out the Typhoon. With new choices like this makes my decisions lot easier.

You can use the Avenger Costume on the Arbiter.
Yes you can, but why buy another version of the same ship? My T5 can still do massive amount of damage. I don't like the idea of buying the ship all over again.
Only one I would consider would be the Galaxy and Negh'Var. Since those really needed a reworked. And they finally did them justice.

The T6 Mogh will likely look better with a different hull texture, I hate nearly every KDF ship in that Black Hull, unless you slap Aegis on it. I don't know why the insist on doing Promo shots in non-traditional skin colors on Klingon Ships. I bought the Mogh and it never once felt as nice as my Vor'cha, and then at T6 the Mat'Ha gave me everything I wish the Mogh was, so it's a skip.
As a mostly KDF player, as I love Battlecruisers and Destroyers (Nausican & Vet), I have a Firm stance against Federation Battle Cruisers, but I do use the Galaxy-X, she is cannon and a Dreadnought. If I mostly play KDF why use a Fed Battlecruiser? I'd rather run the Scryer, Nebula, Vesta, MVAE, Ambassador, Galaxy-X, and Manticore.
Now I always hated the Mogai, but love the Valdore Skin, so if I were to buy one the T6 Romulan ship would be my preference.
That said my Romulan Tact is a T'Varo/Pilot ship jockey, while my Reman Sci is building up her T6 vet ship. I'm not sure what my Reman ENG will end up in in the Long Run, but I am holding out for a T6 T'Varo right now, as my signature Suggests.

Well that new trait has certainly raised the bar on power creep. I mean lowers weapon cost and increases fire rate which emergency power to weapons is active? That is extremely OP.
I have to echo most of the post in this thread: The KDF and Fed ships are ugly. At least from what I can tell in those too-few/too-small blog pix. Sorry ship-design guys, not your best work. But hey, that's just subjective aesthetics...
It's really all about that trait. Wow. That seems pretty powerful. It's *possible* I'll buy the ships for that, but I dunno. If I do, I'll give it time to see if they nerf it... and I'll probably wait for a ship sale (that includes these).
...Honestly, I've kinda got too many ships as is. Ship burnout, man... I've got ship burnout.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

After the Pilot 9pk, which I don't regret grabbing one bit, there are only a few very specific things I want and everything else will be predominantly ignored.

I'd get Arbiter just because it'll come with things the tier 5 version won't which comes down to an extra boff power, a starship trait, a specialization boff station and the hull increase as you level up to 60.
Well if you buy the Fed ship take those new longer (if they are) nacelles and put them on the original Avenger to balance out the design of that ship.
The bearded Romulan ship looks okay.
The Fed ship looks like a Star Trek bottle opener
The Klingon ship should be captioned: "Build it with Lego"
but overall this says it:
Seriously, +1 on this being the ugliest Fed ship in the game (as far as I can tell from the 2 angles so far). Until now for me it was a toss-up between the original Avenger (seriously, Fed ships have ALWAYS been distinguished by their use of complex curves, avoiding long, unbroken straight lines) and the Fed Dyson (curvy, but ugh).
And the KDF isn't much better; the Mogh actually had elements of an interesting look, lost in the new layout. Seriously, if you look at KDF ships in the shows they aren't just blocky slabs of ugly! I keep hoping for a nice classic Vor'cha revamp (since I've given up on ever having a decent endgame D-7).
I will keep my T5 Avenger. Once I get around to it. I rather take the new Concord or wait out the Typhoon. With new choices like this makes my decisions lot easier.
There will never be a T6 Typhoon, sorry. The ship is being removed from the game and replaced with the Presidio Command Battle Cruiser. Most of the appearances in game have already been removed.

I would take the Typhoon over the new Fed ship. At least it looks like a ship and not scrap bolted / welded together. This is why I'm liking the Concord. At least it looks like a good ship and similar to the Typhoon. My choice over a new Fed BC. It will be the far better Concord.

Fed and KDF ships ugly just ugly, My moneys quivering and cowering in fear and horror after 1 glimpse of them and begging me not to spend it on them.
But why make a beautiful ship, something like the Akira for example that people get attached to, when you can churn out ugly that people won't get attached to add a power creep goodie that people think they need, and then rinse and repeat and continue that business model.
Whoever designs Cryptic's Fed ships either needs a drugs test or Cryptic need to stop pinching fridge drawings from their employees kids.
Yay, more ships that make the ships we bought earlier useless.....Enough with the ships. Moar bug fixes and game tweaks. It's sad really how much it's starting to cost to even keep up in the game anymore.
Yep, and after that something to do with Escort Carriers perhaps.
Probably only the Fed HEC. But I do see a Tac Carrier Warbird and a Flight-Deck Raptor in the KDF's and RRF's future though...
I believe the Romulan HEC would be pronounced "Ar'Kif". I can just say, I hope they release a T6 Ar'kif. I love mine and would love for it to have T6 goodness, a new tac oriented trait and another piece to its current 2pc console/quad cannon set. Also, on a side note. T6 T'varo is already out, masked as a "intel" ship. At least you T'varo fans have your ship available. I still want my Ar'kif.
IMO the only ships they should be selling as T6 are the ones that are sub par to the current meta ones or do not even exist yet. Like say gorn, nasuciaan, and orion lines. Then ships like federation side that are below standards like for across the game is iconic science ships birds of prey and romulan research ships/science ships. Where they do that T5-U it should really put those on ships that are still in the meta that are practically somewhat can be upgraded to T6.
What is going to happen is little by little of people who are still around playing the game it'll just chip at them to the point they won't be interested in the game anymore when you are selling the same things over and over again. As well the whole ship thing its like since they started lockboxes and reputations its been all about grinding up to get that ship or gear for that ship but there is nothing being developed in what you would do after the fact. Just as an example the game right now is supposed to be about an iconian war but yet the what we referred to as a sector map which is the quadrant map I guess now there is no indication with what iconians take/what the alliance has. The game really needs to move into a dynamic of immersion to some degree because we immersion taken away but never returned in any other form and this is why the game is going on a steep decline when every single season or expansion is the same old gring it makes people lose interest.
I dont care if its ugly, i'm buying the Arbiter, and the Kurak, which is also ugly. don't care about the Rom ship, waiting for the next round for that. But Yay! More parts to mix with the Avenger, and plus, yeah, T6. been waiting on it. knew they'd be ugly though, so bought the Mogh for the Parts.
EDIT: But dangit! I JUST made my new sig yesterday! Now I might have to remake it!

Personally I love to use the new Klingon front end for a Torp build.
I'm sitting on a stockpile of Dilithium, perhaps I'll finally use it. Looks to ugly to actually fly it though.
