They look like can openers because they open up a Can of Whoop TRIBBLE. Obviously.

Yes it is. I snagged the Manticore last night. Haven't had a chance to test her out yet though.

They are. Check the shipyard on the T6 tab and scroll to the very end. It should be on the last slot on the right.

if you are having problems finding the ship in the ship yard , uncheck all except escorts , then scroll thru and you should find them , at least thats what worked for me

Nice, unfortunately the Romulan ship has the same misaligned forward torpedo launcher as the old one. It fires 45° upwards.

I saw this post and I was extremely excited about it..... then I saw /command and was completely disappointed....

Why oh why did you decide to make destroyer class ships command when either intellegence or pilot are more appropriate?

To keep with the "it can be whatever you want it to be" theme of the vet ships, I was kind of hoping they would introduce a "universal specialization" seat that would let you use whatever specialization bridge officer you wanted.

Though, to be honest, when I saw the disc shaped bit on top I was kind of hoping they added a hanger bay to it...

Overall though, I am glad that they added this. Thanks!

i'm a f2p player, and i'm happy for the subscribers, they deserved an update of their vet ships, because without the subscribers, i could not be a f2p player :)

I don't know, you have these awesome new ships plus a massive reduction in the price of LTS while the sale is on.

speaking as a LT subber myself I will only say if I was free to play now I would defiantly be raiding the piggybank to get a LIfetime sub.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

help, none of this is showing up on at the ship vendor.

Even the old Chimera is gone from the list.

No I'm not a LTS or a 1k day veteran, but I should still be able to see it.

It sounds to me that the old behavior where you could see it is the bug. (Although conversely one could say that being able to see but not touch may entice people to drop some $ for a sub or LTS, hmm.)

I like the specs of the Chimera, and the Manticore. I just wish it had a different look.

This would have been a good opportunity to develop some additional part options on the ship. Slimmer hull, 2 nacelle configuration rather than 4, etc.

    Oh well.

I simply can not fathom what Cryptic's fascination with 4-nacelle ships is.

I've been preoccupied with real life stuff lately, but when I say the news of these new ships yesterday, I logged on and gave them a try.

Romulan version - I took a Delta Recruit in a beam Scimitar, stripped it, and loaded everything up on the new destroyer. I then had to buy a new Command/ENG BO and train it up. Took it out, ran some PvE queues with it, and had a good time. Performed very nicely as a beam boat, though I will likely trade off the rear plasma torpedo launcher for another plasma beam array. Clean lines, looks sharp too.

Fed version - Took a non-DR tactical captain in a T5 Steamrunner, stripped it, and loaded up the new Manticore. As this was a captain I hadn't played in a long while, I had no dilithium to buy a Command/ENG BO. I instead went with using all Engineer skills in that slot. Additionally, the ship was equipped with DHCs and quad-cannons in front + torp, and turrets and a mine launcher in rear. Running Dispersal Pattern Beta 3 seemed far more effective on this ship, than before. Maybe it was the density of the ships under the effect of grav well, but as I made a pass, I would deploy the mines, and stuff blew up quickly.

Nice additions, though I have yet to test the KDF version.

They make a wondrous mess of things. Brave amateurs, they do their part.

Just wanted to add my thanks to Cryptic, as a 1000 day vet this was a really nice surprise. The Veteran Destroyers have always been fun ships to play with, but the Fed version in particular needed a visual polish to bring the look more in line with the latest designs, so I was delighted with the result. The KDF and Rom versions will be the first T6 ships I've acquired for my respective faction toons, so that's much appreciated too.

Great job Cryptic, and thanks again!

design, amazing, kdf one looks great

    ist just the stats....

i guess ill stick to my pilot / fleet matha ships :(

was reaaly hoping for more here...

I love the new designs, especially the Manticore. The extra pod on the top counterbalances its beer belly, which makes it less noticeable.

Also, thanks for releasing new stuff for lifetimers. It's really appreciated.

Yeah, it does help balance it out, although instead of a slimmer secondary hull, I think an equally aesthetically pleasing solution would be if the hull, didn't stop so abruptly, but instead slowly slimmed as it continued to the aft, for more of an intrepid/pathfinder style hull.

At any rate the Manticore will become a solid part of my fed ship lineup, I love 4-nacelle ships, with the exception of the eclipse.

And she also makes me so happy I held off getting the command cruisers on more than just my KDF toons.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

Man, these ships they make these days couldn't possibly be any uglier? I mean, Cryptic Studios gave us some really nice looking ships, PW gives us TRIBBLE designs. I have yet to see a T6 ship that even begins to strike my interest....they are completely hideous.

I left this game with a really good looking ship, a paid for variant of the Star Cruiser. At the time it was in my opinion the best Tanking ship in the game. Now I understand that there will always be progression in an MMO and newer and better things will always come along, but they could have just as easily made that ship upgradable. If they had, I would have never felt the need to come to this board in the first place.

The star cruiser, seriously the star cruiser, that is one of the ugliest ships in the game. Even the old Sameera is like 400 times better looking than the Star Cruiser.

But then my favorite Cruisers are the Ambassador and the Heavy Cruiser.

Function over form for me. Pulled out a 25K ISA test run 15 min after getting it and have done several good PVPs with it. The only thing would be if it could use the nadion bomb...that would rock.

I definitely agree! Even though the BO and console layouts are the same across the three. The KDF got the best looking ship this time around. :)
