Addendum to my addendum.. 3rd post on the thread..
Ok, I am slightly disappointed that I cannot retrofit the Console - Universal - Enhanced Dynamic Tactical System to my one of my Rom toons Fleet Deimos....
Was this intentional or an over sight?
((It woulda been nice. Might as well go invest in some command skill manuals... Gonna have to use the T-6 if I want the advantages of the console...so I might as well configure the LtC eng/command slot as with all command skills or it ends up being a bit of a waste of BOFF slot.. I can use the universal LtC slot for an Engineer..

I believe it's intentionally done that way, it's the same way that the console from the Tier 5 version can't be used on the Tier 6 version. I don't have an issue with it being that way.
Nicely done Cryptic with all three ships, especially the Klingon and Rommie ones although I like the fed one as well. The Klingon one looks like a kilrathi destroyer and I absolutely love how intimidating it looks from the front.
Why would anyone spend 5$ for a Fleet Module and 7$ for an Upgrade Token to get a T5U Veteran Destroyer, when they could just spend 5$ for a Fleet Module and get the superior Fleet T6?
But that was a rhetorical question. We all know Cryptic's attitude towards T5 and we all remember their lies about the T5U being comparable to T6. I guess it doesn't make much difference for Vet ships, since you get all of them regardless, but I still find it disgusting how all the T5, FT5, and even T5U/FT5U people paid money for are becoming overshadowed by the T6 variants.
I was starting to think they'd forgotten us LTSrs, yay!
My *only* nitpick is same as the first responder, it would have been nice to have a sleeker secondary hull option on the Chimera. I like the piece on top and the skin, and have no gripes with the Klank/Rom version looks, all things considered.
egad, you know, thats a thought.. what would the mirror version of these ships be like?
The KDF one would prolly wing toward more science consoles..and the Ltc Eng/command could swing to Intel. ((though to tell the truth.. make it a true universal slot.. your choice to put in a Command, Intel, or Pilot specialist.
*sigh* I can dream.. Borticus would have to write some stuff.. It could be done...*dreams a little about it*
I see your point, without opening that whole can - o - worms, I'm of the impression that my subscription has already paid for itself, so anything at this point, for me, is a gift.
But technically, you are correct sir.
Heh, thanks. Sorry, Vengefuljinn, I was just being silly, I appreciate that you didn't take it negatively. :P
Fact is, my LTS paid for itself back in Nov 2011 (20mos after I'd bought it, back in the pre-F2P days when there was a required $15/mo subscription), so everything I've had in the game by way of sub/vet/stipend-type-stuff since then, I've also considered "free".
So whoo-hoo for us, eh!
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
Well the Federation and Romulan ones look more or less like the old ships with a new facelift, but in that context I'm very pleasantly suprised by the Klingon one - that's one awesome looking ship right there and sufficiently different from the old one.
All in all, it's a good thing - 1000 day vets and lifers should have the unique prize ships at max tier in the game at all times, IMHO.
The starship trait mentions "Directed energy weapons," does that include cannons as well? I understand that to mean anything but torps but I'm not sure what the STO definition is.
We're proud to announce a brand new set of Tier 6 Heavy Destroyers for our 1,000 day Veterans! These ships come loaded up with tons of new options for Captains!
Are these ships account wide unlocks for all characters (faction limited of course)? For lifetime subs and/or 1000 vets? Or are they one ship claim per account?
Not sure how the current destroyers work and if these will be the same.

You can get them on all characters, all you need to do is go to the Ship vendor and buy it, all your other characters on the account can do the same thing.

As long as you're a 1k Vet/LTS you gain account-wide access to the 1k Ships (both the T5 and these new T6 versions). Each of your characters can claim, discharge, and reclaim the ships as often as you like as if they were purchased C-Store ships. Being an account-wide unlock means it works for any existing and/or future characters you have/may one day have.
There are only two restrictions - 1) You have to be a 1k Vet/LTS, and 2) The ships are faction-specific (so your Romulans can only grab the Romulan ships (importantly NOT their aligned faction), Feds the Fed ships, KDF the KDF ships).

I want to play the romulan one but that shield mod , compared to mogai the most comparable it's bad... and now the pilot ships. If there is one thing that bugs me is poor ship stat balance.
Cryptic really should go through all the base stats of the ships and balance them across the board. Just the modifiers not the BO seats.
oh cool, i got some new free ships. do all the animations work on them? is the fleet skin usable on the kdf vet ships yet? a bug always prevented it's use.

Vet Destroyers get free T5U upgrades.
Great Scott!
This may call for the U.S.S. Defender with red and black elements.

Nice work though, otherwise
Hoping my fleet mates who are LTS fly these more often to see them in action, particularly that Daeinos.
Rom mirror skin is best skin!
(Seriously, I'd fire up my old Roms again just for that, already hoping for a t6 Mogai with the mirror skin soon)
Congrats 1K day Vets!

Went in game and checked for myself. The nacelles on these new ships are broken too. I shouldn't be surprised by this.
