Correct me if i'm wrong but i think i read something about the Tholians are digging into Iconian Tech and stealing Rom Ships ( as we see in Azure Nebular) when i played Temporal Ambassador with my DR.
We encounter them on New Romulus doing things in this Cave with those Iconian Relics and again in the Ruins working at the Iconian Gate.
Thought they were working for the Iconians but we see some dead Tholians killed by Heralds in the first of the new Story Missions.
Could it be they were preparing for the war and not in fact working for but trying to work against the Iconians?
And we know that Tholians are big into time travel wich is one of the few things the Iconians are unable to do.
Maybe we will see them again?
Going deeper into time travel maybe together with the Tholians could be our only real hope winning this.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
A'dranna? Seriously? I have just lost any remaining respect I had for Romulan Republic security or counter-intelligence. In Sphere of Influence you find Solenae records about how A'dranna was captured and mind probed. Is a probe the only thing that was done? How can you be sure she was not altered, programmed, etc?
The woman is compromised, and any intelligence service worthy of the name would see to it she did not have any security clearance whatsoever.
First Sela's escape, now "Miss Iconia". Outlook is pretty grim...
Hail Donatra
speaking of donatra what happened to her? we know she escaped after we destroyed the assimilated scimitar.
They SCARE me... Experimenting with Borg tech, collaborating with Undine, activating Iconian gateways when they are not prepared for the outcome...
Another symbol missing is the Tholian Assembly... Would love to fight beside my crystalline brothers...
I'm fairly sure that with as much as it's been emphasized in the new FEs that they don't handle time travel very well, that's going to be the preferred method of attack... I'm thinking we should load up with Chroniton torpedoes...

That's the Preserver archive. The gateway chamber isn't even remotely similar.
Sorry, I haven't gotten my recruit that far. It doesn't make any sense, though, with the Breen story taking place before the switch to 2410, it couldn't possibly be that far in the future yet. <scratches head>
Edit: Yes, that's definitely the Preserver archive. I could have sworn that the first time I did that it was the transparent tiles over the magma in the gateway room. Shows how well I remember these things.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
I feel like I want to plunge my hands into time itself, shape and bend it to my will, change all that's happened and all that will happen... but I can't. The technology to do that simply doesn't exist.
And if it did, would it be more power than anyone has a right to have?
Sounds pretty much like this is what the Q-Continuum do all the time.
I'm more interested in the reference from the Prophet inside the wormhole about the Iconians: The Other saved them before. The Other will save them again.

Yeah, this was pointed out a few times when we learned of her "visits" to the Solanae, she clearly isn't working on all thrusters, but then neither is Republic security from reading this.
To be fair, the Republic itself is less than a year old as anything other than a loose insurgency and they've kinda been the focus of a fair amount of direct attention from the Iconian servitors on top of Sela and the Tal'Shiar.
The fact that they still have a functioning government that can give more than a token contribution to the war effort is remarkable. That they're having to scrape the proverbial bottom of the barrel to do it doesn't really change that.
Further, given that they're Romulans...they may be using Ms. Compromised as a way to feed bad/false intel to the Solanae.
Move them in time.... They go insane...Catatonic..
Something using croniton particles as a weapon to create a temporal interruption on the target should do the trick nicely.
Ahem...*points at sig*
So the solution to the Iconian problem is for everyone to buy the Temporal Warfare set from the Lobi Consortium.
That's a genius way to make money, Cryptic!
And for a really 'out there' scenario...obviously we can 'cheat' by sending research projects back into the Iconian's dormant period, doing them there and sending the results forward. But what if we take it a bit further. What if we're the ones who bombed Iconia out in the first place (or at least did a Mass Effect and got the locals riled)?
This A'dranna is very troubling, I wonder if she is driven by guilt or revenge. She opened the Gateways and made it possible for this whole thing to happen and she was also used by the enemy to further their goals. My guess is she uses the Guardian of Forever to correct history like Bones tried and end up costing the war for the Alliance only to have us save her and the Alliance and being thrown back into a no win war.
The way I see it, the Guardian is just as dangerous as the Gateways whether the intentions are good or bad. We should destroy it or we might find ourselves with B'Vat 2.0.
A sad reality but a logical reality. A couple of high yield quantums should do it, quick and painless.

Actually, I don't think it said "wiped out." Just something like "conquered." Plus, "Dust to Dust" mentioned that Voyager was in Vaadwaur-controlled Krenim space... so it isn't out of the question, still.
Vaadwaur had nothing really to offer to the Iconians strategy wise except for being in a position to take out the Krenim once their influence on the Undine was usurped.
One of the first targets the Vaadwaur hit conveniently is the Krenim, spreading its strength before rather than an in force attack to take back the Vaadwaur in stasis. Probably the price that was asked in exchange for the Iconian assistance. Iconians probably even realized the potential threat of an alliance forming as a result but thought the risk of that was worth it in ridding themselves of the Krenim.
Probably a few scattered Krenim out there, but I bet any stronghold of technology was completely destroyed.
One question though, what ruins are they talking about? Ruins on New Romulus? Those wouldn't be Romulan ruins, so it isn't their history being destroyed.
Something using croniton particles as a weapon to create a temporal interruption on the target should do the trick nicely.
Has anyone tested Chronoton Torp / mine damage compared to other types on them? Any significant jump like Anti-proton on Borg?
Time for new energy weapon, chroniton beams and cannons! Or is it Anti-chronoton that we need?
And what is with the Ferengi Icon? On the poster it is facing one way, for Avatars it is another. don't symbols like this have a certain direction they are suppose to face when used like on flags?
The ruins are gone. Centuries of our history immolated in minutes.
Didn't the Romulan Republic literally only just recently set up shop on New Romulus? How can you even say it's centuries of your history when the proto-romulans abandoned the world and forgot it ever existed for those centuries waiting for the half-life of radioactive isotopes so you wouldn't be forced to live on a gigantic cancer ball?
D'Tan has decided that we must postpone any further research into its use until after the conflict ends.
The same D'Tan who thought it'd be a great idea to activate an Iconian Gateway in the same lava tube that created a cataclysmic seismic event on a global scale around 150,000 years ago that coincidentally resulted in the extinction of the Dewans? Despite literally not knowing or anticipating the consequences of said action?
D'Tan is a man of peace. Nothing will change that, and it is one of the reasons I respect him. But it is also the reason why we need men and women of action who are willing to step up and fight to preserve what we have created here.
Alright, forgetting for a moment D'Tan made a bad judgment call on the Iconian Gateway, this is the same D'Tan who was the protege of Spock... you know, the guy who Nero held responsible for Romulus' destruction.
I still find it difficult to believe that romulans are able to respect (and make Proconsul) a guy connected the extremely controversial Reunification movement and the understudy of the guy that can easily be held accountable for failing to save Romulus.
If D'Tan will not sign off on my research, maybe Kererek will. I will provide all my data to the Alliance, and continue my work with the gateway technology.
Hey, awesome. Admiral Kererek who had an inspiring speech about how we probably couldn't win against the Iconians.
And if it did, would it be more power than anyone has a right to have?

Eh... considering how the Tal Shiar (and you! :P ) were involved in the destruction of Romulus, I'd say you can't hold Spock responsible for failing to save the planet. The supernova travelled much faster and became much stronger than anyone had anticipated, due to Iconian and Tal Shiar practices.
First off, surprised at the inclusion of the Cardassian, Dominion,Borg and Undine icons on the image.
I can only find one icon I am not familiar with, the one to the left of "UNITE".
As for the Krenim, it is already established that the Vaadwaur wiped them out at the beginning of the Delta Rising Expansion to prevent us using the Time-weapon technologies.
There are only 3 remaining known entities dealing with time left:
1) Q-Continuum, which has no stake in it and probably will not interfere.
2) Prophets, again, nonlinear entities that do not concern themselves with our issues.
3) Guardian of Forever, most likely plot point, but how it would be used is tricky. We've always had to fix whatever was changed by using it.
Despite our best efforts, Tholians are still around. They're all about using time travel for their benefit. I don't know if they have temporal weaponry, but they definitely have a lot of experience in temporal mechanics.
Perhaps self-preservation will finally bring them to our side....
I feel her pain. She's gotta still feel responsible for almost destroying New Romulus.
She has some good ideas and some bad ideas here. In any event she should get the project rolling and then step away. She's too emotionally involved ultimately.
I've still got Age of Ultron on the brain though so.
A'dranna's track record of judgement isn't the best - she pushed for the Gateway activation in the first place despite objections from the engineering team (Malem, wasn't that the head engineer's name?), she was ready to put the Republic at odds with both the Federation and Klingon Empire over the Journet Gateway, if I remember what was found in Storage Facility Z98 correctly she's the one that the Solanae and Iconians used to sabotage the Gateway activation...
In the case of the activation she was clearly screwed with by the Solanae as for the power grab at Jouret, she was just being a Romulan scientist. Hell look at how Tiaru reacted when we showed up in the Jenolen sphere.
And this 'Tale' gives me a bad feeling of what might happen if she ever discovers the Gateway planet and the Guardian of Forever - as we've seen in "City on the Edge of Forever" (TOS), "Yesteryear" (TAS) and "City on the Edge of Never" and "Past Imperfect" (STO - Fed), the Guardian has the power to do exactly what A'dranna (and Taris, for that matter) wants... and scientist or not, she doesn't really seem like the type to think through the repercussions...
Why? In case you forgot the Guardian of Forever is the boss. And it always tries to clean up any messes caused by someone using it.
Wait a second, didnt Captain Paris say that the Gateway on New Romulus was destroyed during Blood of the Ancients? So why are the ruins still being held and how can she still be doing research?
Regardless if you're watching from orbit and see the Iconians overrun the position then destruction is logical. The survival of it isn't something they're going to ascertain the same day.
A'dranna? Seriously? I have just lost any remaining respect I had for Romulan Republic security or counter-intelligence. Except the Republic is still young and small, and educated talented scientists are at a premium. That said, ending her career because she was kidnapped and experimented on doesn't exactly work either. Imagine how many officers would've been taken off duty permanently.
For instance, remember that time Sela and her cronies brainwashed Geordi? No more Chief Engineer of the Enterprise.
Starfleet tried to keep the Borg and Picard apart and almost lost Earth for their troubles.
Maybe Picard should've been relieved of duty after his stay as a guest of Gul Madred?
Heck if you play Romulan Faction, by that metric your character should've been discharged right after Sela and Hakeev shoved a Borg probe in you and brainwashed you.
The Proto-Romulans stayed long enough to build cities and leave behind their version of Excalibur though.
The same D'Tan who thought it'd be a great idea to activate an Iconian Gateway in the same lava tube that created a cataclysmic seismic event on a global scale around 150,000 years ago that coincidentally resulted in the extinction of the Dewans? That one certainly won the Trojan Enz Boner of the Year award for 2409.

Yeah but Nero was a psycho above even normal Romulans driven insane with grief. (not that I blame him, seeing his wife, I'd have gone off the deep end too and he was about to be a father).
The fact is this. Nero was wrong. The news is out. Everyone knows Taris, Hakeev, and the Tal Shiar were responsible for Hobus. It's settled. The Reunification movement, while controversial was also an enemy of the Tal Shiar by default.
If you look at what's been done, Sela while she maintained some amount of power was a terrible ruler. All these things suddenly make the remnant imperial government look like TRIBBLE, and suddenly D'Tan who is talking about Romulans leaving behind the deceit and secret plans and power grabs and instead focusing on rebuilding a new life without trying to conquer everything around and making enemies of everyone look pretty good. How many Romulans have even met a Vulcan. Any hatred is artificial. It's not first hand. So holding on to it is a different story.
The bottom line between the two is this. Sela hasn't done jack for her people while the Republic has been making moves.
Hey, awesome. Admiral Kererek who had an inspiring speech about how we probably couldn't win against the Iconians.
That was SO uplifting. I mean I just gotten my but kicked and watched the last of the First Humanoids get burned off the face of Laenas. Then he comes in with the we're screwed speech. *Slow Clap*

Even if the Krenim are gone or conquered is irrelevant really. It is plausible that their temporal weaponry survived or at least the plans for it. I refer you to the "Year of Hell," https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=wDze6MESS7g#t=2103 and in case it doesn't start at the right time; go to the 35 minute mark. He was working on the temporal weaponry when he was pulled away from his desk. The work could have continued and could be waiting for us to "discover" it.

No, that was Kererek, in his speech at the end.
My own problem with that speech is that the gate wasn't destroyed, but we ourselves were the ones to save it.
Perhaps there is another agenda there...
Kererek wants us to believe the gate was destroyed whilst A'dranna researches undisturbed...?
