Anyone notice Tom' Paris' ship? I thought it was a new type of ship but after killing all space threats and instead of pressing the button to progress the plot I just flew in close to take a gander. Its the T6 Defiant! During the cutscenes with Tom in the bridge he is in one of the defiant bridges from the bridge pack.
The first Belfast was commanded by Captain Ve'Kal Shon until its destruction in 2409. A new ship was commissioned bearing the same name and registry as special dispensation to then newly promoted Captain Edward XIII for his pivotal role during the renewed Dominion War.

Although with the pics I saw of these ships which one was a raptor I hope they both have battle cloaks if we want to theme them doing stuff with them just for delta quadrant purposes.
Agreed, and the new ship just looks like a cross between the Defiant and the Phantom.
I'm definitely not thrilled with it, no chance it will get me out of my Tempest Class Fleet Patrol Escort.
I wonder if this ship will get the Defiant skin even if it does not have a proper Defiant Spec (cloak= Intel) and looks nothing like a Defiant but more like a Phantom (which is still the true "new" defiant for me) or the Argo shuttle.
Many times i have been told that the Phantom isn`t the new Defiant because it can't use the skin (could have been added for free instead of putting it on a new 3000 Zen ship), It doesn't look like the Defiant (the new Ship looks even less like the Defiant) or because it is not a Tac. Escort (I really doubt this will be named a Tac Escort).
So this ship could make all the "reasons" why the Phantom isn't the Defiant invalid because, even if it gest the skin, it also isn't a Defiant
So i like the look of that ship, it really looks interesting with the wings. I always wanted an escort with wings. But for me the Defiant skin should go to the Phantom because Defiant-Phantom have more in common than Defiant-new ship
That said, even if i am an Engineer and prefer DBBs over DHCs i think i will get that ship.
I don't think we will get a T6 Tempest or Avenger because they are not iconic, not canon and that would be too much T5 as T6. But a T6 Akira/Armitage is possible since the Akira is canon and (at least for me) also iconic. Or maybe a true Norway Skin this time instead of the Oslo or Steamrunners for everyone

Tempest is great ship performance-wise AND story-wise, the latter because it has 4 BOff stations fitting the "Class of 2409" (You, Elsa Flores, T'Vrell, Zarva, and Kolez) perfectly.
BUT...
I will be getting the T6 Defiant so that I can finally complete my TV trilogy set:
Bald White Human Engi-Officer w/ T6 Galaxy (TNG)
Female White Human Sci-Officer w/ T6 Voyager (VOY)
Bald Black Human Tac-Officer w/ T6 Defiant (DS9)
The other two are easy enough to do just reach rank of Captain:
Human Male Engi-Officer w/ Constitution (TOS)
Human Male Tac-Officer w/ NX-01 (Enterprise)

As for calling this a Cruiser (includes Battlecruisers, Dreadnoughts, Dreadnought Cruiser) game... Nope. Majority of ships are still Escorts (includes Raiders, BoP, Warbirds, and Raptors). Just cause they came out with more cruisers recently just means they are trying to balance the amount of choices to match Escorts. I say they should come out with more Sci-vessels, show those some love.
If it has some form of battle cloak then you can have 3 choices rather than just two factions to choose from. So DOWN with your comment! Lol :P

I really dont see Seinfeld as a classic in the same level as the other two, its like some sort of twisted Laverne and Shirley to be honest, except that I really liked Lavernea and Shirley. Yada-Yada is nowhere on the same level as vodeo-doe-doe-doe.
I got it because it's a cool looking ship that's actually not pure glass. Funny thing is, first thing I do after the tutorial is over is dismiss all the bridge officers you just named (I actually kept T'Vrell and just renamed her.)
There is no other Escort with the versitility of the FPER. I fly mine with the Reciprocity Trait from the Phantom, All Hands on Deck, Desperate Repairs and Pedal to the Medal. Great ship. I probably won't buy another Escort, between the FPER and the Phantom I have all the bases covered already. That and I think the Defiant is absolutely hideous.
The new Escort that appears in the Featured Episode isn't too bad looking, just nothing that really makes me feel like I must have it.
Agreed completely, terrible show. That and 'Friends' are the two most over hyped, over played shows in American Television history.
I like following the story. And with the Tempest you don't have to sacrifice performance to follow a theme. So for me Flores is like my character's "big sister", T'Vrell is his love interest, while Zarva and Kolez are his close friends. I like that the tutorial gave them some depth and dialogue. Makes them more attached to my Captain having a backstory. And I know what ship to get for Flores when they allow your 1st Officer to command their own ship... Vesta, that's what she said afterall

You could always do what I did, i actually created an Elisa Flores character and leveled her up to where she could command a Vesta. In this case, her Vesta is named, appropriately enough, the USS Taggart.

Or, at least make the 2-pc set upgrade the console cloak to a battle cloak.
(With the Intel ships having cloak already though, having it still a console becomes a massive disadvantage)
Don't get me wrong, a T6 pilot Defiant would be awesome and too good of an opportunity for the devs to pass up on, but I get the feeling that it'll either be a stand-alone ship or a cross-faction three pack like the Iconic bundle rather than this nine-pack ship. That's how they did it with command ships after all.

You raise some very good points. More then likely, Cryptic will stick to this trend.
I'm glad that the new Pilot ship isn't the T6 Defiant, none of the other canon revamped ships have been specialized and giving the only revamped escort a specialization would be pretty unfair and pretty biased towards escorts, but I fear that soon Escorts will once again rule the game as they once did before Legacy of Romulus.
That logic can be applied with any ship why doesn't every ship have 5 fore weapon slots and 56 tactical consoles and 234 Bridge Officer slots and aside that..
Dear heavens no, we don't need more 5 fore 5 tactical console DPS monster Scimitar clone ships flying around filling up Earth Space dock.
I'm pretty sure the Devs will carefully make the T6 Defiant a very very good ship, mostly because some of them are DS9 fans (and build the game mechanics to fit escort "awesomeness", lol). It will surely not get a lame BOFF/Console layout like the Galaxy got for 5 years, lol.
I think the T6 Defiant will get a similar BOFF/Console layout like the Andromeda just with a pilot spec (and tac focussed of course).
Maybe something like this:

Tac/Pilot: Lt.Cmdr.
Eng: Lt.Cmdr.
Sci: Lt.
Uni. Ensign.
Consoles: 3, 3, 4 (Fleet:5)
