February last year, when it was launched. Trying to find the exact post, but it's likely in one of the threads that 'vanished' during the forum purge a few months back. I know well that other cruisers have universal LTC Tac stations, and many of us pointed that out when we were venting our frustration about the Gal-X not getting one.
i think they said its a cruiser, so it shouldn't get a COM tac, not LTC.
wich is actually incredibly shaky justification, its actually a dreadnaught, and dreadnaughts have COM tac. the galaxy X has the -cruiser qualifier added on though, and that gives it 2 cruiser commands and a COM eng instead. just drop the -cruiser qualifier and it should actually have a COM tac.
So if we purchase both the C-store Andromeda and the Fleet Andromeda, will we thus be forced to fly the inferior version for a while until we've unlocked the Mastery before switching to the Fleet version?

If you want to unlock the trait, you'll have to level the Zen version T1-T5. Then when you want to fly the Fleet version you're going to have to level T1-T4. In the time it took for you to ask and for me to answer...you could have done both*.
*Okay, not really - but leveling Starship Mastery is so fast one might wonder why they even bother having folks do it.
I think yall did great on these ships. Finally they get the upgrades and feature we always been wanting. The Negh'Var and Galaxy will be added to my list. Soon as I get the Mogh bought next.
The consuls are good. I'm more happy about the layout to boost up their DPS. That was always the down point on those ships. They took a hell of a beating. However they never really had the DPS to wear the target down. This will help them.
USS Casinghead NCC 92047 launched 2350
Fleet Admiral Stowe - Dominion War Vet.
- I don't like the design aesthetics of the Klingon or Romulan upgrades. Too blocky, too many raised panels. The Warbird seems to have excessively thick wings.
- No special Interiors like the pathfinder got...could at least have given one per ship.
- Little apparent thought gone into stats. Negh'var still inexplicably the most fragile. All of them get four engineering consoles now, which means five for the fleet variant. Now Galaxy I can imagine....but the Neghvar...the D'deridex? Hav the devs ever watched the shows? Neghvar also gets screwed on console sets.
- Nothing imaginative to make them 'pop' Still no hanger slot for the galaxy/Andromenda, despite the fact that the Galaxy has the most hanger space of any 'canon' Starfleet vessel, and the fact that the Galaxy Dreadnought has one. No Intel boff slots for the D'deridex.
- Looks like folks who want to go straight for the fleet variant are going to get screwed too...no trait whatsoever on that one. What's the point of that? Fleet variants without the fleet module discount are incredibly expensive as it is.
Seems pretty unimaginative and unimpressive, IMO. Particularly if they are being priced at 3000 Z again.
I'm just going to grab some popcorn and watch this announcement unfold.
The whole thing about fleet T6 getting everything but the trait is kinda nice...it shows up the c-store ships as the trait mules they are, and allows people with the ec to get something with T6 boff slotting and stats without ever having to go through the cash store.
It has a base turnrate of 6, not 5, and FIVE engineer console slots, not four.
Switching to the T6 ship gives me an upgrade on my ensign universal to LT and gives me access to command abilities from my top engineer slot (that I actually need for engineer abilities)?
I was excited about upgrading until I saw the stats. Why would you make a T6 ship that's WORSE than the T5U version?
Oh, I see. Fleet version gives me the console back - but then removes the starship mastery. And I'm still out a precious, precious point of turnrate. Meaning I'd be paying not even to get T6, just a fatter hull and one extra boff ability on a worse ship. lolwut
First: D'Deridexes have a turn rate of 5.5 and that would point me to believe it's a mistake in the blog (same as missing dual cannon possibility on the Big D, missing cloaks, etc...).
Second: The Big D gets Command possibility on the Lt.Com. Tac station, not the Commander ng one.
Third: If your D'deridex has 5 eng console slots, it means it's the FT5-U version. Thus you should compare it with the FT6 version that's also released tomorrow (see QnA part of the blog). That one is identical to the FT5-U, except the universal ensign gets bumped to lieutenant and the Lt.Com. Tac becomes a Command hybrid. Whether that's worth the cost for you depends on you. But it's exactly the same process that's used on the T6 Intrepid, JHSS, Negh'Var and Galaxy. So at least it's predictable.
(For instance, as i already have a T5 Intrepid that I can upgrade, I consider the T6 one superfluous. Pretty much same for the new Galaxy and D'Deridex. On the other hand, the negh'var wasn't upgradeable - unless you had the Fleet version - and so I love this T6 negh'var opportunity.)
But the reason why I like this release: they went by the rules they set up (as noted, with the Intrepid and the JHSS) and still added what was possibly the most requested/valuable for the T6 ships. That'd be some teeth to the FED and KDF versions and a very useful Lt. universal on the Big D, that already has one of the most universal Boff layouts in the game.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
10 Console slots? Ensign Universal? Why are these t6 again?
Garbage ships - try harder
Seems like someone paid precious little attention since DR promos months ago...the core of T6 is specialist slots, 13th boff ability, and a trait, otherwise they're t5. Stock T6 have 10 consoles, fleet have 11 same as t5u, it's just that t5u lack a boff ability/trait/seating for a specialization.
... to have a Galaxy T6 with the option to separate the saucer I need to buy 2 ships, while I never will use the old Galaxy version?
Oh lord... god bless the Nagus!!!
Ill pass, super crazy expensive this game...
Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES.Much PAIN but still time.BELIEVE.There is GOOD out there. We oPpose DECEPTION.COnduit CLOSING/
That bridge seating is what should have been in the Dreadnaught. I agree for an exploration cruiser, it would have made sense for the Lt Com slot to be science. Still, looks good though.
I know it has been asked before but, I will ask again, Will the Andromeda parts work on the Dread?
Excellent work to the modeling/Art department. The Negh'Tev looks awesome.
However the seating and stats are a bit of a disappointment after looking at them. Not terrible but not impressive either. The Dev's really need to start listening to their customer base on the KDF side. This cruiser would had been more tactical focused, we have enough engineering ships, how about some more tactical or even better science ships? We don't expect the same amount of new ships as the feddies, but some some good quality ones to make up for Fed quantity would be nice and make us happy and content.
I have over 5K of Zen from Stipend's sitting there, will I pick this up? Not sure yet, only compelling reason at this point is that it looks cool. A hangar bay and cloak would have been nice though. She is after all a powerful warship.
Support the Game by Supporting the KDF, equality and uniqueness for all factions!
So when are these being released, I didnt see any mention of them on the patch notes, yet som/e people said they would be out tomorrow, is this true, no one seems to have any clear info on their release date.
Plenty of people want more well designed science ships in the game. The Dyson set was a big TRIBBLE up in that department.
Unfortunately, they have to pander to the masses (Tacs and engineers) over and over before paying attention to science.
I can't imagine engineers rank above sci in being part of the "masses"...they have pretty much no way to support their team with captain powers, and they lack stuff like conservation of energy to get the most out of exotic damage builds.
Not sure if anyone else noticed this but, why is it the Romulan vessel, shows it to be short by 1 boff seating ability?
I mean we got the Fed vessel also at VA=13 boff abilities and, the KDF vessels at LtGen.=13 boff abilities but, the Rom vessel at VA=12 boff abilities?
It's... the exact same ship. They swapped an engineering console for a tac, made the ensign universal, and nudged the tactical boff to Lt. Cmdr. It's still a waddling moose of a ship with insufficient tactical boff options. If instead of the ensign they'd made the lieutenant engineer into a universal you might be able to shoehorn in useful boff powers, but as it is the changes are a whole lot of meh.
"It's the exact same ship" ...except for a better tac seat, another tac console, and command powers. Besides, if you really want a "useful" number of tac abilities (I presume that's what you'd be shoehorning in?), just save for/master/drydock the phantom for Reciprocity.
I'd say my only gripe is that I don't own any of the other Galaxy ships except the free one you can get at 40. I'm not going to pay that much money just to get a non craptastic turn rate/etc on a brand new tier 6 ship with it's "bonuses." Especially when this means a T6 Odyssey and Sovereign will eventually happen and won't be gimped by said issues.
Otherwise I think it looks pretty damn cool and it's great to see all 3 of these new ships. Just not crazy about having to buy two older ships I'll never use.
All 3 ship models are great and I hope people get great use out of them.

those are the worst console bonuses of any console bonus that exists in game. and the turn rate you get from saucer sep is a joke, because its just a flat +10 better, all the turn buffing math still works off of it's base of 6. its a beam boat too, so you don't even really get anything out of the sep at all.
you aren't missing anything of value by just getting the tier 6.
The really funny thing is, when they updated the Galaxy-X a little while back we were told that it would never get a LTC tactical station because it was a cruiser... Yet this exploration cruiser now has one and the dreadnought version is still left with a crappy LT station...
All in good time. For now it's the Galaxy's day. The Dreadnaught can wait.
"And the singing?"
"Let them sing."
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
Not sure if anyone else noticed this but, why is it the Romulan vessels, shows it to be short by 1 boff seating ability?

I really hope these stats are another April fools joke.
Last time the galaxy class got revamped a large number of us were asking for the D'D Boff seating. This is the perfect opportunity to make it happen! Make the T6 D'D Boff seating be the same on the others! Pleeeease!!
Thanks for the expansion that had "as much content as the last"
9 Episodes = 30+ episodes...?

It's pronounced "S.T.O." "Stow" sounds idiotic! lol
So does the Galaxy Dreadnought get the updated Galaxy model and skin? Because if my Galaxy Dreadnought gets stuck with the old model and skin, that would be not good.
I have a Galaxy-R-T5U and this T6 has less hull than what I've currently got (53,334). I can see that I will gain a Tac BOFF slot and change a Ens Eng to a Ens Uni, but that's it. Even the console slots are the same as I've got now.
The T6 Fleet version will therefore have less hull than the T5-U Fleet version. According to the bottom Q&A section on the stats page, the T6 Fleet version loses the Trait slot.
I'm not being sarcastic, but why would I buy this ship?
