I hope the new Galaxy has more potential for a tactical set-up than its predecessors. If this is the case, I'll drop some cash on it.

a t6 NX or Columbia refit wont happen, why? because it wont, hell the ship should have never been brought into the game same as the old enterprise because all there is, is whining for them to be made into top tier ships since their inception.

WE all knew this was coming down the pipe, once voyager had it happen it was a logical presumption so for those that act shocked and surprised/angry that this is happening get over it, the escorts will be next with the pilot skills, however im thinking that these 3 in particular, might be a true hybrid and get a lil of everything, course, ive been wrong before.

I'm still hoping we get a T-2/3 NX update.
I know They have to make a big money deal with Drexler, but I hope we get his version.

I'm assuming these ships will work with the existing consoles that came with earlier-teired versions? Like, the Andy will be able to saucer-sep?

It means the 'Galaxy class' will now look more like it did in the shows. The 'Andromeda class' will look like it does in that dev blog. Just like how they updated the Intrepid model to more match the shows shortly before they released the Pathfinder variant.

And the Galaxy will still likely look kind of crappy if you match new parts with classic parts, just like trying to mix and match the Pathfinder parts with anything other than Bellerophon parts.

    Or Regent with older parts.

It'd be nice to see the attention to detail transfer to the Gal-X which is still one of the worst models ingame even after the revamp last year.

Good ship selection, though would have liked it if the Vor'Cha was involved. Maybe later ;)

LOVE the new Galaxy model. It looks fantastic and makes me super happy. I also really like what little you've shown of the Andromeda design; I hope we get to see more soon. And the new Negh'var parts look sweet, too. TBH I'm not really feeling the new Romulan design at all, but that won't really be a problem since I'll just use D'deridex parts :) (Yes, I've already decided that I'm grinding for the D'khellra, because... seriously, T6 D'deridex. Want.)

    Stats tomorrow, I hope? :)

I have a question regarding the galaxy class models. In the blog you guys state that the new model will replace the old model galaxy. The way I read that it means that it will automatically update to the new model and be similar to the andromeda class. my question is this, will we be able to make it look like the old school galaxy if we still wish to do so? I saw something about being able to use the old parts but can you clarify that a bit more?

No, the parts are replaced completely, they just mean you can use the normal galaxy parts with the new Andromeda parts.

I for one wellcome the T6 Exploration Cruiser! This needed to be done, good choice. :)
Now Cryptic, take a hint from that poll you did a while ago and give us something to actually explore with her! ;)

Oh and I'll also join in asking for more pictures from the ships asap - either a new blog, here in a reply or a dev/CM twitter as you do sometimes, but please show us a bit more!

Please, please, for the love of everything Star Trek, no more cruisers. Why do you have to make 95% of all T6 ships cruisers? Where is the escorts? The science ships? You are putting too much work into cruisers and ignoring one very important thing that even fits with your storyline. If we are at war, why isn't the powers (Star Fleet, KDF, and Romulan Republic) making any warships? You can say the cruisers are warships, but none of them are truly warships when you look at bridge officer slots and console configurations. They are all catered to Engineers.

You need to make more Escorts that are designed to fight the incoming war with the Iconians. We also need more science ships to heal the warships. I have done the math and you have only released 4 escorts that are T6 and they are all non zen ships while you have over 10 cruisers with nearly all easily available. Please don't destroy the game balance by only working on cruisers.

Oh I am sure the response to this is one of 3 things; 1. They will get to escorts when they finish the cruiser designs. 2. They have Tactical T6 ships via tactical design cruisers (which is the worst excuse I have heard, and yes I have heard that response when I first pointed out the tactical T6 ship count. And just having a cruiser with more tactical console slots is not a real tactical based ship. Look at all the so called tactical T6 cruisers. They still have either the same number of engineering slots as tactical, and do not have a tactical commander bridge officer slot) 3. You don't need a escort to have a tactical ship and it really doesn't matter what your toon class is since it's all based on bridge officers.

Please, please just put any more cruiser designs on hold until you release a couple zen T6 escorts and science ships. Pretty please?

Okay, so I can get these 3 ships as a bundle, 1 from each faction. BUT I can't get a bundle pack of say all the Tactical varients of the Command Cruisers from each faction in it's own bundle?

    Okay...

Take me off the D'Deridex whine list. Had enough fun with the D'Ridthau-however it's spelled that it might be worth investing in this bundle down the road.

The console is also average, but potentially useful.

I might get it, or I might hold off. All 3 are nice, but my KDF is content with their Qib, my Rom is doing fine with the Faeht, and my Feds have plenty of ships to choose from.

For now, I'll wait and see if they release some info on upcoming Pilot ships; they might be more worthwhile for my KDF and Rom.

    Okay...

Nothing wrong with that, it was bundled as a 3 pack for faction only

The reason they are doing a bundle with 3 separate factions into one, is, well why not, chances are at this point in the game, many many people have characters in all 3 factions and will most likely buy this bundle, plus since there isn't a specific 3 set being done for each ship, it still makes sense...

Well I might have just found my first T6 purchase (depending on what their stats and boff abilities are, etc). I do have one query though; a single T6 ship costs 3000zen. I would imagine the faction bundle will be between 6000 and 7500zen (that's for three ships).

I do not have a Republican. Might there be a dual pack (thus purchasing two out of the three ships?) - say at 4500 zen each?

I doubt it. The Galaxy Dreadnought is a T5 ship. No doubt in time they'll release a T6 Andromeda Dreadnought, but until then, I wouldn't think so. :)

Negh'Var? The Vor'Cha is more iconic.
The Vor'cha is more your Excelsior; she remained the workhorse of the KDF fleet for many years (as the Excelsior did for the Federation). The Vor'cha is an iconic design, don't get me wrong, but the pinnacle of that era belonged to the Galaxy, Negh'var and Deridex.

Seriously?!? I upgraded my current version of these ships to T5U and NOW we're getting the T6 version? So basically I wasted my money buying ship upgrades? I sincerely hope that there's some way to upgrade our T5U into a T6 because this is some serious BS.
Yet I have no doubt that you fully utilized your T5U's whilst you were waiting, thus not a waste of money.
    szim wrote: »
Are the original costumes getting an update as well? Not sure about the Negh'var but the Galaxy class costume is in desperate need of an update.
You didn't even read the article, did you? It clearly states (toward the bottom) that both the Galaxy and Negh'var are being updated.

So what am I supposed to do with my T5U Fleet Galaxy Dread now? Bought the Galaxy Dread, then I bought the Galaxy bundle for the saucer sep, antimatter spread, and hangar. Bought the Fleet Galaxy dread when it became available. T5U'd it, since we were told that's as high as that ship and many others were ever going to go. Spent REAL MONEY to do all of those things. I get not having all of this stuff available to silver players who don't spend on the game, but to folks like me, lifers, who have spent again and again and again, it feels like a slap in the face.

DISCLAIMER: this is just my initial gut reaction to this. I reserve the right to calm down and change my opinion after having a chance to absorb what this actually means for me.

RECENT INTREPID UPDATE... just for example.

Define "recent" cause the T6 intrepid came out about a month after DR. That hardly seems "recent" to me. And FYI, I objected to the inability to directly upgrade that ship from T5 to T6 then as well. So yes, I have been paying attention

    Woohoo! Finally a C-Store neghvar!

I'll get the negh'var. That much is certain. But I'm really not sure about the other two. I've got the Galaxy as well as the big D. I've also got a number of account bound upgrade tokens, so if I choose so, I may easily upgrade them (to basically the same stats as Tier 6, minus the trait and 13th Boff ability slot).

Also, from the posted pics, the new skins look terrible. Andromeda, Negh'Tev and D'Khellra so far seem sorta unfinished, as usual. That said, it might just be the screenshots that are deceiving, again, as usual.

But hell! We got a C-Store Negh'var with an updated look and ANOTHER Vod'leh costume (yes, it's just a variant of the Negh'var, but still)! :D (The Galaxy updated look is a good thing as well.)
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

Since the other 3 pack bundles are at 6k zen, id wager the same with this, plus id wager a zen sale or ship sale coming soon as well with the delta recruit thing about to pop off.

As a side note, tossing ships together to create some kinda purchase pack would be neat, I could imagine the logistics behind the idea as a nightmare

Tier 6 Galaxy etc huh, wake me up when something interesting comes along.

Those ships were oversized and overrated to begin with and no T6 version will remedy that.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Hm. For an iconic ship set? Yeah, this one was a good choice. We probably should get escorts and raiders next, though... the tiny ships. Defiant, B'rel, T'varo.

I'd prefer Prommie over Defiant myself, but that's just me. Defiant's the better choice overall.

I'd be fine with a T'Liss upgrade, instead, if they wanted to go that route. But we need another one of the small and mean Romulan ships. And the science bits make them REALLY fun to tinker with.
