Why am I not surprised that there is yet ANOTHER Galaxy class variant. The Galaxy, D'Deridex and the Neg'var ships are not that impressive to me either.
Not like we have enough versions of the same ships getting a new skin with a trait.
When are we getting a T6 NX refit with the secondary hull, or even the refit of the NX-02 Columbia? Hell, the T'Varo and the T'Varo retrofit needs some love with a T6 viariant.
ironic in the end with the t5 iconic ships, especially the galaxy class, only a year or so ago it was considered one of the worst ships a t5 captain could have, now its going into t6 mode. the negh'var was always considered nerfed the moment it came to sto, the negh'var was significantly larger then any other klingon ship around and those powerful disruptor bolt launchers are still missing from the design, yet cryptic made it smaller and less threatening. the dd on the other hand is a design that was aging and it was being felt throughout the dominion war, it was a little bigger then the galaxy class, it should of been reflected as such with its design.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
If they're going the full mile with the Pathfinder similarities, then the Galaxy is only going to have an Lt. Tac/Hybrid seat, with an eventual Defiant getting an Lt. Sci/Hybrid seat.
Same probably goes for the Neg'Var and D'Deridex too.
i would open my wallet further for a KDF and/or rom Science vessel, currently everything we have there is outdated TRIBBLE.
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...

Excluding non-Faction and Lock box ships, at T6 the Feds have:
1 Escort (Phantom)
Now 4 Cruisers (Eclipse, Guardian, Command and Andromeda)
3 Science (Scryer, Dauntless and Pathfinder)
I hope for a Pilot Ship 3 pack centred on an escort and its 3 variants (Tactical, Engineering and Science) and then as part of the iconic series the Defiant, BoP and T'Varo pack.
WOOHOO! Can't wait to see the stats, and I'll buy that 3-pack the minute it's out!

a t6 NX or Columbia refit wont happen, why? because it wont, hell the ship should have never been brought into the game same as the old enterprise because all there is, is whining for them to be made into top tier ships since their inception.
WE all knew this was coming down the pipe, once voyager had it happen it was a logical presumption so for those that act shocked and surprised/angry that this is happening get over it, the escorts will be next with the pilot skills, however im thinking that these 3 in particular, might be a true hybrid and get a lil of everything, course, ive been wrong before.
Love how the moment that a handful of ships get the T6 treatment that so many are asking for, the complainers come out in full force :cool:
Eh, this bodes well for the future. Updates to old ships - so long as they come with great new skins, consoles, abilities, and interchangeable parts with the previous models like these and the Pathfinder do - are a great way to give older ships a little love.
Might not buy the new Warbird myself, especially if I end up going for whatever Pilot ship we're getting. But AWESOME work anyways
I almost never said it (probably 2-3 times) in last whole year but GJ cryptic on the negh'var and vodleh model - it was a long time to make them more series like.
dont know about the in galaxy if that ugprade was needed though , but what can i say im a romulan .
Also still it kinda doesnt appeal to me why the most hvy ships of their time should have pilot seating (where for d'deridex a mix of intel and command would fit to more TNG type, and negh'var should close to command cruiser).
When you bring in next t6 iconic ships (what should be your next move) you could make the MOGAI a little more looking like in STAR TREK NEMESIS movie... (and the STO d'deridex doesnt rly look like the TNG model - for my taste the STO model looks more modern and better but still its not very similar to the TNG model )
Also looking at the time span... it feels kinda needy to make the iconic ships as higher tier refits ect, as normally the fleets dont consits of hundrets of ship types, but there are lower number of classes but they are more refited (like the bigger klingon ships or rom ships that live for 50 or more years). This ship politics has actually some sens to it.
Really hope they don't get the pilot abilities, mostly because I don't see them fitting on these ships. On smaller and lighter escorts and BOPs the pilot abilities fit better but not on large cruisers. Just my opinion.

I have a question regarding the galaxy class models. In the blog you guys state that the new model will replace the old model galaxy. The way I read that it means that it will automatically update to the new model and be similar to the andromeda class. my question is this, will we be able to make it look like the old school galaxy if we still wish to do so? I saw something about being able to use the old parts but can you clarify that a bit more?

I'm not happy that some ships have to be bought on the C Store. I might not be able to afford it. It creates two classes of players, which is unfair. I recommend removing ships from the C store, and making them free.

It means the 'Galaxy class' will now look more like it did in the shows. The 'Andromeda class' will look like it does in that dev blog. Just like how they updated the Intrepid model to more match the shows shortly before they released the Pathfinder variant.
As a side note, I'm glad I've stopped upgrading ships to T5U because this continuous rehash of ships to make them T6 (which Devs explicitly said wouldn't happen) makes me think most of the ships I would bother upgrading will probably get T6 versions at some point in the future rendering the upgraded versions pointless.

C-Store ships aren't what cause a problem with divisions in the game, Lockbox ships are.

Hm. For an iconic ship set? Yeah, this one was a good choice. We probably should get escorts and raiders next, though... the tiny ships. Defiant, B'rel, T'varo.

In a lot of ways since they upped to T6 ships in some ways I am kinda glad the new negh'var is coming out. Also great on getting those weapon pods I guess we will just have to make do with something to represent that high end damage burst they gave off in DS9 lol.

Same here, I honestly think they might hurt their sales a bit by trying to toss these at us when they just dangled the other day the info that pilot/hybrid boff ships were coming out, so unless they plan to roll another fleet of ships at us in the next few days, these 3 might not see the sales they think they will get.
I wont lie though, my wallet is sitting waiting to see the stats at the very least.

C-Store ships aren't what cause a problem with divisions in the game, Lockbox ships are.
