Lets assume that the surface of the Iconian Dyson Sphere is slightly less than 1 AU from its power-source star, matching to some degree the other two Dyson Spheres we have encountered.
wasnt it stated somewhere that this sphere is older AND larger... this makes the math ever more 'HOLY SHEEEIIIIITTTT!'
if you park a ship infront of your face and between the star, that makes things dark as well because of the shadow. so i am guessing that there were thousands of these ships around this dyson tower and that it blocked out the majority of the stars light from reaching the platform rather then having this 18 zero digit number of ships. with that number it wouldnt matter how weak the iconians are in power, even with those numbers they could completely destroy everything without a second thought to their own numbers.

The BFAW arguments are countered by the fact my Phanton is a Cannon setup. Not Beam. Can't BFAW without Beams.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I was reading Star Trek Destiny about the borg story - 7000 borg cubes is senough to wipe out the entire alpha and beta quadrant, I'd say 1 miliion ships would be more than enough to wipe out the entire galaxy

STO really marginalized the borg - pity.
In ST: birth of the federation (4x strategy - still recommand playing it to those who haven't even if it's dated) the borg cube encounter will wipe out whatever you throw at it.. it's better to just leave it alone.
This can be fixed by claiming the borg we've seen so far are underpowered extensions of a larger 'body' located in the vast areas of the galaxy still unexplored. (i'm assuming the galactic core isn't explored much? always a place to put a big bad boogyman...)
The Iconian fleet does NOT block all light. The ledge you observe the fleet from is not in complete darkness. The area is simply in the fleet's shadow. Depending on how close the ships are, there doesn't need to be that many. Something huge like the Voth Fortress could probably do that by itself.
A galaxy's core is not a location you should want to be anywhere near. With that supermassive black hole, the everything getting sucked into it, or getting ejected from it, and everything being so densely-packed together, that is the single most violent spot you could be. Who knows how far away you need to be before the turbulence settles enough to make travel even possible, much less tolerable.
I am an immortal monster person who has killed millions with his ever reappearing starship of doom.
Scratch that,

Ah, BotF. You clearly aren't throwing enough ships at the Borg at once, either that or you need a sufficient number of cloakers to kill it on the decloak strike. K'vorts are ideal for this role.
Anyway; STO has established that the Borg are heavily committed against other threats - the Voth, the Undine and possibly even the Iconians - which would preclude them throwing their full strength against the Alpha powers. In fact, if they're fighting the Voth and Undine, it's surprising they are event bothering with the Alpha quadrant...

it's Star Trek - i'll create a technobabble field to nullify your physics and conventional grasp of spacetime.
and you can bet whatever deus ex machina cryptic pulls out of its TRIBBLE for this, it's going to involve time travel, because "The Iconians can't travel through time. It destroys their minds."
So apparently time travel causes them to forget what happened in the intervening time. Somehow. So the solution to the iconian threat seems simple enough to me. We throw their leader through the guardian of forever, it forgets why it was attacking us in the first place, and we all go out for a friendly beer with our new buddy.
More seriously though, considering the whole time travel aspect to the delta recruiting event, I agree that the solution is almost guaranteed to have something to do with time travel. I'm curious where they go with it though, hopefully it's slightly more interesting than 'go back in time and bomb them to hell before they become a threat'.
And I just realised this has nothing to do with the actual thread topic. Umm.... I'm assuming Sela was either wrong, or that really it only blocked out the sun on the platform we were standing on. A dome of starships around the platform would still block out sunlight while requiring far fewer ships, and it'd help to explain why we could make out individual ships clearly. If they were really blocking out the sun completely then they'd be way too far away for us to see anything.
If the Iconians really have that many ships, packed into the Dyson Sphere, they will not just be blocking all the sun's light, they will also be absorbing all its heat output. Whatever they're made of, they're eventually going to melt. This means whatever jiggery-pokery they're using to handle the gravity of that huge mass of ships will fail. The entire Iconian fleet will undergo gravitational collapse, resulting in an enormous release of energy inside the sphere, which will not be able to contain it, and will vaporize in consequence.
My solution to the Iconian invasion, therefore, will be to stand off a couple of lightyears and watch the fireworks. Perhaps bring marshmallows.
Sela probably played her last gambit in this timeline, i think she knows this timeline is over, if there are that many ships but then again she didnt seem surprised by the number of iconian ships either which suggests she had a fairly good idea about what is happening next, she gave some fairly obvious hints about time travel, the key to stopping the iconians, revealing the threat.
i suspect the storyline will be a simple reaper invasion followed by a tardis jump to the past with advanced knowledge of the invasion, your future self will then inform your past self of what is to come and how to avoid the iconian plot thereby creating an alternative reality, but it will require building up forces, delta recruits are basically fast tracked captain cadets, more like conscripts with advanced understanding a learning that will help defeat the reaper invasion of the galaxy when it arrives. then the storyline will conclude with the iconians getting kicked out along with sela realizing and helping out, perhaps even 8472 will drop by and help? but unlikely.

Aceton Assimilators. But BFAW guys going off on Aceton Assimilators is nowhere near as bad as Cannons going CRF on it

And then call out the USS Player Ship that will be doing continuous barrel rolls while blazing away with its glorious cannons.
Yeah... Let's not worry too much yet.

LoL speaking of sparta did anyone notice selas "THIS IS SPARTA" momment when she kicks taris off the ledge?

it was actually like 5 ships...and a very large GREEN SCREEN!
Yes, you called?
I've actually been commanding a U.S.S. Sparta for about 3 years now. I CALLED IT! I ACTUALLY CALLED IT!

WE are going to abuse time travel to our advantage.
And there is jack shiite the iconians can do about it!
Except send in a servitor race.. .which makes the whole cannot travel through time thing pointless..... hot damn....
