As for rare ships, I don't think it will be worth the price tag, would rather be in my Faeht/Mat'ha/or Scryer depending on faction.
Or as far as Box lobi ships, rather be in my Temporal ships, Adapted Destroyer, Jem Dread/HEC, or SheShar.
I think a Mat'ha or Phantom with the 180 degree turn console from the Heavy Hunter is a better war machine.
those lock box ships you liked will all get new variant ones now that they unveiled the first among many and it is the Jem T6 haha ........ sales sales sales ..... its not about being the best ship anymore lol.
And owners of the existing Attack Ships will be able to upgrade their ships to Strike Ships as implied by the previous Attack Ship promo when?
Since a starship mastery trait, hybrid bridge officer seating, and a 13th bridge officer power are the defining capabilities of Tier 6 you will be honoring your stated offer and allow Attack Ship owners to upgrade, won't you?
As an owner of a JHAS, I am not expecting PWE to do the honourable thing here. Existing owners of this ship should be given the upgrade as stated.
It's hilarious how you all somehow equate T6 Capability with T6 Upgrade.
"With the release of Star Trek Online: Delta Rising, owners of this starship (either from this run of the promotion or from previous runs) will be upgradeable to Tier 6 starship capabilities at no cost."
T5-U is T6 Capable. You can do every aspect of new content in a T5-U ship.
Just because something is older doesn't make it less capable then something that is newer.

The point is ... they made a point of saying Lockbox ships where upgrading to T5-U.
They made a point of saying the JHAS was upgrading to T6 Capabilities.
Yes we all know they added the "capabilities " tag so they could be weasley. I would dare say very few where fooled. I'm sure some where indeed fooled into paying more then they should have for a ship that Cryptic new was about to become the Classic model. Would they have made less if they had choosen to not lie and simply said ... ALL lockbox and Promotional ships will be getting T5-U upgrades. (its what they did right, so why lie).
The answer is simple right before the delta expansion when all the T6 news was dropping they had a R&D promo pack running, and didn't want to impact sales anymore then required.
For most of us it isn't that our old ships aren't getting upgraded... I own a few and could care less.. I could log in tommorow and buy 10 and still have more virtual STO capital then I could spend if the game lasted another 5 years. Its the principle, blatant bait and switch junk is nasty. I would love to know the what the sales numbers where on that R&D pack before and AFTER they made there "T6 capabilities" blog post. If they went up it would annoy me. (and I'm sure they did as people where posting threads asking if they should still be trying to get a bug ship)
Destroyers have 4+3 arrangements and typically have a heavy engy/sci bent (engy in this "strike" crafts case) along with high tac boff and console slots. It may look escorty, but destroyers do if you don't look closely.
for a long time (until the fist ship with 5+2 arrangement) all escort have had a 4+3 arrangement and the best turn rates if compared to every other ship.
So frankly even if I have no doub that the only things missing on this ship is a 5+2 arrangement and (if necessary) an "I win" button, IMHO if this ship can act as an escort (and it does), it's an escort...
p.s.
feds have at least one t5 escort with hangar

Playing STO spamming FAW is like playing chess using always the computer's suggested moves
All I got to say is that this is a precursor to ships that will have a mix of Intel and Command Bridge Officers. I can't really agree with the lottery style of the purchase and I understand the disheartening folk that has the pre-bug ship. This should be upgradable and those that do not have it should gamble for it, even though I really dislike the gamble aspect of these events.
I'd rather see them in the C-Store, but if Cryptic needs extra cash, have it so that you need to upgrade them with the upgrade tokens. It reduces the gamble, but increases the wants to upgrade said ships within the lockboxes.
as a reference one could look at the discrepancies from t4 to t5. it's one console and boff seat that defines the gap there (+slightly better stats).
that discrepancy one can easily see from t5 whatever to whatever t6.
t5's of any flavor don't match t6 capabilities, no matter which way one tries to turn it! there are may some similarities, but at least half of the core things dismatch (boff seat, special seats, trait, full scale stats).
so, t5-u is not on one level with t6 capabilities, that easy!
btw: capabilites are not defined by content one can go in with em, it's about the innate capabilities of the ships itselves!
and no matter some folks try to defend this policy: it's utterly blatant and has nothing to deal with a customer friendly policy that could lead to satisfaction for customers.
those who are satisfied by this may should think it through from some more perspectives. thx.

I needed a good chuckle this morning, thanks.
You actually failed your own starting point by including the blog quote and kinda made yourself look a little foolish. I appreciate you are trying to make a point, but it's backfired on you unfortunately
It clearly states with DR launching that the ship will be upgradeable to T6 capabilities. That's right, T6 capabilities.
What clearly defines T6 is any scaling of ship stats, the boff seating, the use of command/intel abilities and the starship trait. If you could show us where the current bug gets these, great.
Otherwise, Cryptic made an oopsie.
If you've come to the forums to complain about the AFK system, it's known to be bugged at the moment.
This doesn't surprise me one bit. I can see why we should expect a free upgrade to t6 but also see why some and presumably Cryptics idea that t6 capable = t5u.
I like it that cryptic is pursuing this path of killing off STO because I hope it hurts them and pwe whereas the community can just move on to other games and at least reflect on the good times without seeing their loved ST mmo die a painful lingering death. Not everyone working there deserves the negativity or the consequences and normally I dont wish I'll feeling on anyone and some have no choice but for some they share the responsibility in some form or another and if they insist on doing this then I hope it comes back to haunt them.
Ive been lucky to get every chance ship without gambling but I can't afford to gamble this or even expect to buy it unless someone messes up. So no cryptic I'm not biting. I barely play the game and I probably have more ships I've not played than played (my choices but for the cost of this new one, I'll be forced to give up collecting). I'm quietly unconcerned really about the actions cryptic is taking. They can TRIBBLE us off all they like because barely playing the game and doing the bare minimum to keep momentum whilst discarding the grind completely is pretty good almost therapeutic 😊.
Sadly I bet he whales and then gamblers will keep cryptic afloat but I wonder how long that will last if the community at large either doesn't want them or has given up altogether.
Keep it up cryptic, no sarcasm really, just keep it up.
Here's when I might spend money again. When you start putting out playable faction ships, that are truly Federation, Klingon, and Romulan. I am sick of having the majority of T6 ships be Alien race ships. Especially when there is still yet even on truly Klingon, and Romulan themed T6 science ship.
Also, I find it ridiculous, that we have to slowly limp along while the dev team slowly puts T6 ships into game. When we started STO back on Feb. 2010 their was a tier 5 (top tier ships then) for both factions, in all three classes. That is how it should have been when releasing a higher tier. The ships for each faction, of each class should have been available (at least one ships each) when launching, not slowly released, as yet, another after thought.
Finally, the whole amount of ships available in game, seems ridiculous! It would make more sense to be able to change out your bridge officer seating, and ship consoles, and maybe even the ships special abilities, than having to get a new ship to change a single feature each time. I currently have more ships available to me than bridge crew, or personal outfits! Who new ships would be so easy to acquire in the 24th century. Each captain can have 30 ships, and they take a second to make in the replicator.
In essence:
Captain:Earl Grey, Hot. Followed by, a new Command Cruiser. Served together.
Computer: Captain you realize the Command Cruiser will not be customizable, and you will have to order another one, if you don't like it?
Captain: I do, just as I specify another tea cold or warm.
Computer: Exactly.
Captain:"Proceed."
Computer: You do realize there will be delay in making the ship Captain?
Captain: How long?
Computer: Tea one second, Ship two seconds.
Captain: That's not a delay?
Computer: True, however if you want a Klingon or Romulan Science Vessel...
Captain: Computer?
Computer: Sorry, I'll have to precess the request for a couple of years.

Well, that was amusing.
Back on subject, I'm going to try for this ship. I refuse to spend any real money, but I do have a little bit of Zen stored up and no real priorities for what to do with it. I wouldn't be able to grind up for another t-5/6 ship for months anyway, so why not take a gamble now?
As for the ship's capabilities, it might not perfectly match the current BFAW metagame, but that's obviously because they're trying to make more builds viable. Nothing wrong with that.
Oh, this going to be good! Another ship debate. Somebody pass the popcorn, I can already tell half the people here will undoubtly buy the JHSS and the next few weeks we will be spammed in PvE with 'em.
Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES.Much PAIN but still time.BELIEVE.There is GOOD out there. We oPpose DECEPTION.COnduit CLOSING/
Yay! Two hours until countless players waste obscene amounts of money ATTEMPTING to obtain uberbug MkII.
Lets bet on it, I assume like 50 announcements within the first 30 minutes. This game is dying they said...

So if you get this ship does it unlock the pets for the carrier is basically all im wondering ?I have jem hadar carriers on like 3 toons but getting the pets is virtually impossible unless you get the JHAS ive played this game for 4 yrs and still havent got one so yeah.Reply to question please
I dont know if my reply was posted posting again ?New JHAS unlock for pets yes or no ?simple question so i was wondering if i can get a simple answer?Worth buying zen or getting like 100 RD packs just to farm what lobi :P come on guys whats chances of getting one anyways like 1 /1000 ?
The person responsiable for designing all these new ships coming into the game after the Kobali Samsar need to get fired. After the Samsar, every new ship that came out look like total ***ing bull***!
At least the Romulas T6 birds looks nice and the Samsar, other then that - keep all your ships, if I don't like it I don't buy it.

It was not mentioned in the Dev blog about the new JHSS unlocking the JHAS hanger pets, so no one knows for sure though it is unlikely IMHO.
Since this is still the wording for the JHAS pets last I recall "Owners of the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship (the ship must be unpacked) can also purchase Jem'Hadar Attack Ship hangar items in the Dilithium Store. These items are available for use exclusively with the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier. "
I hope there will be new pets too, improved Jem Mk II Bug Pets!! So owners of both the old and the new Bugship can run each hangar a different Bug****. Thats TRIBBLE!!!
Btw, if the chance to get the ship is as low as the lockbox its around 0,4-0,5% Chance, so I expect opening 1000 is a decent try.

For those who are wondering if owning the JemHadar Strike Ship will unlock usage of the JemHadar Attack Ship hangar pets if you also own the JemHadar Dreadnought Carrier: the short answer is: yes. The longer answer is: If you own the JemHadar Dreadnought Carrier and either the JemHadar Strike Ship or the JemHadar Attack Ship you will be able to purchase the JemHadar Attack Ship hangar pets.
OK, so I'd like to point out something I think being overlooked in this new T6 ship.
IIRC, The T5-U to T6 original argument was...
T5-U = extra (11th) console slot
T6 = +1 BOFF ability and 5th Trait
Putting the JHAS T5-U and the T6 JHSS stats side-by-side shows the following...
Both have the EXACT SAME console slot configuration
Both have the SAME BOFF layout, just added Specialization abilities on JHSS
Added T6 Trait on JHSS
Added special console on JHSS
If we went by the original definitions, the JHSS should have a 4 Engi, 1 Sci, 5 Tac console layout and Ether one of the Universal slots upgraded to LtC or the Ens. Engi Boff slot upgraded to Lt.
Why was this missed? This makes the Strike ship look less than 25th Century.
