seriously this ice race is really annoying how is any one suppose to win it I've tryed 5 times and couldn't even win:mad: so I'm just gonna forget about this stupid race and just get the lobi from the lockbox and unlock the ship:mad:

if you have high enough delta rep try the triait for 5% running speed, and you can "cheat" a little, I find those markers are really more of a guidline. you can't cut clean across but you can cut corners to a certain degree
Let me guess. Another person who can't figure out that you're supposed to slow down before going around the corners? :rolleyes:

I believe your method is the one Cryptic prefers.
Also if you mean the race against other players, that doesnt get you the ship anyways, only epohhs
I tried it the first time since i play STO (since it became f2p) and i won the first time.

I was waiting for this years "WAAAA I have no clue what I'm doing, please nerf!!!" thread. I was not disappointed.
I got through my race on my first try, even after a year I still have mad racing skill yo!
But I mean come on, stop moving, drift into the next position and move. If you are going to go off track double tap in the right direction to roll and stop your slide. It's not hard...
Its uninspired TRIBBLE for 5 year old konsole players. No Humor.. no fun.. nothin.
AND:. since it startet the Game is unplayable.. i dont know if it is the same in USA.. but in Germany you can forgett to play it.
30 people i know.. and 29 of em cant play at all cause of laggs.
So thanks cryptic for trying to host a game on less then minimum hardware clusters.
Since DR everything went worse and worse.... think its time to leave the game again and
im glad i never was so stupid to buy a livetime sup.
You want money.. give us servers that work. The game itself is fun now.. lot of possibilitys... lot of different things to do. But its unplayable. Complete.... nonsense.
Practice and use rolls to stop sliding.
Walk around the corners, use the snow (not the ice) parts to slow yourself
You can roll forward to stop from sliding
Only run on the long straight sections, then roll forward and walk around the corners
and here is the biggest thing:
The last 2 years you didn't even really have to run AT ALL to beat the NPC

every year there are ppl comlpaining about it...(prob the same ppl cryn for more nervs of
advanced mode) and they havnt changed it yet since hundred of
ppl can finish it easy.... i sugfgest u ask a fleetie or some1 from u F lsit its REALLY easy

... just run & roll in the corners ... it ain't rocket science ...
I used this video as a guide and won the race with ease.
I had to do it 1 or 2 times to get used to it, but once I got it down it wasn't hard at all.

Actually, I think I remember turning into the flying mobs gives you no traction on the groung which also means no slipping.

Won it easy. Never even saw whoever or whatever I was supposed to be racing against.
