Do anyone notice after the patch the game has been deader? Dead queues, less private, lower chat zone chatter, and less friends on the player friends list!
Yup, I've not logged in since last Wednesday, not even to DoFF or refine the piles of dil that are just sitting there since the MI event.
It sucks, this has been my go to game for 3 years and I just don't feel like logging in to wait for my long completed DoFF missions to complete. Or to reset my load-outs, again. Or to watch the minuscule tick over of specialisation xp.
Don't feel like queuing endlessly in empty queues. Had enough of looking at a empty fleet roster. If I hadn't invested time and money into this "leisure" activity I would drop it and walk away, but I have invested a little of myself into this beast and I can't turn my back on it.
For now I'm only in the forums, just hoping to see some semblance of reason return to the game. I'm not allergic to spending money or time in order to advance and enjoy the game, but lately the return has been lacking.
I'm patiently looking forward to posting something more positive.
Meanwhile I have Elite: Dangerous Gamma, DCUOs latest Update and some serious LAN teaming on COD:BO to keep me busy and spending money. Heck I even spent RL cash on DCUO for the first time in months for a load-out system that works.

My guess there is (as I said in another thread), patch deployment is not fully handled in house on STO's corner of Cryptic (ie. an external department not assigned to just STO) and may even use a third party company contracted for limited work. So this creates financial pressure not to patch. Which results in a policy where you save emergency patches for when it's costing you money because emergency patches cost you unbudgeted money.
This is quite possibly a good point if your guess is true, but it does undermine customer "relationships", so not entirely sure it's good business.
I was on here on Thursday THANKING Geko for posting in the thread, and giving the benefit of the doubt - but then I ran some open missions on Kobali - noted that they were far from tripled, while the XP requirements HAVE been, and came on here to report my findings.
Dozens of others have given examples of XP that did not scale properly.
No reply from the Dev team - not even to say they're going to look into it.
I've dropped about as much change on this game, as I'm gonna for some time. At least till well after the holidays.
I just bought the Pathfinder, I'd like to try diffrent builds with this ship, But I have no intention of grinding up a ton more upgrades. Sorry...:(
All my other toons are pretty much dead to me and that makes me mad, but I just don't have the motivation to start a grind to upgrade the gear and ships on my other toons,...I haven't even finished one yet!
Don't get me started on leveling my specializations... My other toons will never get them at this pace.
My fleet, It's become a ghost town. It's really depressing.
The screws have been turned so much with this expansion, things just aren't fun now.
This is not how I want to spend my time after a hard day of bustin it at work.

Well put, the Exodus of the players here for enjoyment and obtaining epic items are gone. Everybody leaves for their own reasons, but the grind, and lack of Trek feeling content is the big ones.
Judging by todays patch notes I see that i was right - they are running out the clock until Q arrives. There will be no changes to failqueues or exp.
They probably figure that Q will be enough of a distraction, then maybe by January people will accept the current state as the norm.
I for one plan to enjoy Q's wonderland as much as possible as I fear it may be our last.

Well, the patch notes are in. Not a single fix worth mentioning. I'll take this as confirmation that everything I currently loathe about the game is working as intended. I'll take my leave for good now. It was fun while the fun lasted.

Yup. As I thought, basically, Cryptic said TRIBBLE the player base with Geko in charge of it all kinda.

yes ... i see what you mean lol, the people who wrote this game messed it up to many times, and i don't hear wolf anymore, if there is one, it's to late
It's like the little boy who cried update, the boy cried Update!! and all the users got on, and they where like awwww darn, and then went off to do whatever
Then, the next day the boy cried update again, and the users where like YES!!! and logged on and where like oh great ...
And then, the 3rd day when the boy cried update, no one came. and it was all over ... lol
Janeway, alright i get the point... what do you have to say for yourself?
*In person* I just want to say, I humbly apologise for my past self's dire predictions, oh the burden of being mee...
I will point out it's also Thanksgiving weekend. I think the next week or two are going to be the most telling.

Right behind you dude. Guess I'll be doing something else this weekend as well. Glad I held off on my planned T6 ship purchases. That would have made leaving more painful.
Seriously, people. It's THANKSGIVING. They're not going to do heavy lifting on the holidays.
Yes, and next week is Q, then soon it will be Christmas, then New Years etc etc etc...

They're the ones that messed it up, if it takes extra work to fix it then it's not our fault.
Lets keep in mind, this was an update no one wanted, no one requested. With everything that needs work in this game, this unnecessary and unwelcome change is what they spent their time on and they did it wrong.
Now they're just sweeping it under the rug. They can blame the holidays or whatever else they want, but the players will answer by closing their wallets and leaving the game (even more then they already have.)
I have endured through a lot since DR having the confidence that eventually Cryptic would fix whatever was wrong. After this though, it's clear that they simply don't care. All we're asking is a post saying they're looking at it, that doesn't seem like we're asking too much.
Instead, they're making a clear statement.. 'we don't care.'

I would agree. The patch notes for tomorrow simply should be known issues. We don't care player base.
Somethin like
Patch 25 - 11/25/14
Known issues
* We don't care how much you grind . Note, we will not change XP earned and continue to nerf.
* If you find a better way to level, we'll call you exploiters and cheaters.
Seriously, people. It's THANKSGIVING. They're not going to do heavy lifting on the holidays.
I have to admit it...I am going to be the odd one out in my own office for going in to work this coming Friday. So I am going to give it a few weeks to see what happens in-game.

why i get less xp in borg alerts now than i did before? i should get 300% of before instad i get 80%.
Be thankful they didnt drop it to 50%. Folks are intentionally avoiding DR events and STF's to send a message, and the DEVs respond by nerfing all alternative earning systmes wherever they can.
As if we couldnt see through their Thanksgiving gifts....
It's just "Dr Doom" Roubini

Yes, well, apparent idea is if they turn the screws enough players will dance to their tune.
The problem is that players are more likely to simply up and leave or complain.
Carrots work better than sticks but using sticks feel so good for egos.
To be clear, player progression should be the same now as it was before.
So finaly i guess... this was simply a lie.
Cryptic has obviously no intention to adapt the same remained Critterpointscounting to the new sp-distributuion. All right, now double as many missions to complete as before. We have all soooooo much free time ...
I'm amazed still opened. So much love and yet not many DEVs nor MR EP wants to touch it with a response to the playerbase.
Metrics are more important to them than the player's voices. We have to wait until they've collected enough to see how big a mistake they've made, then they'll come in here and claim to have listened to our feedback. :P
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.

Ditto, although half the time I now forget even to do that. This Breen ship for Christmas really better be something...
