wondering if they come up with something actually enticing for this year event.
the different colours for batlets and Lirpas and winter coatsare kinda meh, after having 1, it's prity much pointless to have a different colour and borgs adapt to them (and now, elites even cheat they're way by constantly repulsing you, when you get close)
so, i wonder if we will finally have a glowing sword, for those that dislike batlets and Lirpas handling behaviour.
Did they do blue already? I'd like to get blue weapons this year.
Technically, they did blue in the 2011 event. There was only one type of bat'leth and lirpa, but it turned blue or red depending on your faction. They had purple in 2012, and green in 2013.
Can't have that. Why... you couldn't pawn off garish red and eye-bleeding green versions of the exact same thing next year if people had the option to choose their own colors now.
ya i mean who would think of a color pallet i mean it would have to be like, uh, i dunno still trying to remember the color of that red firetruck ... lol
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

Quite. The nanopulse weapons seem to use the plasma damage type for the entirety of their damage; would've been better for all concerned if they took a cue from WH40K's 'power weapons' in having an actual blade around which the nanopulse 'field' forms when active - in game terms, they would have the standard physical damage, and then bonus damage from the nanopulse effect... meaning that when Borg adapt (or the target has plasma resistance), the weapon simply becomes less effective instead of entirely ineffective.
That said, aesthetic-only glow effects for normal swords, lirpas, etc. could be a reasonable Z-store item (see Path of Exile's plethora of such effects).
With the initial year being blue/red depending on faction, and then purple and green being used, I'd expect a yellow or orange color (Innate phaser damage probably)

Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
Yellow or orange does seem likely. Although I'd like it better if they sold the previous years' models too, so new toons could get a full set of colors.

Yes, this. It takes on the color of a weapon energy type you receive into that blade color. It is awesome, but all too fleeting
first time i saw these coats with no color options i crit facepalmed so hard the sound barrier nearly broke lol ...
I mean, the nerve! Suggesting such a thing!
(+1, by the way. Long overdue)

I'll go with Dirk's theory on why the Angelwing Clam can glow when modern science can't explain it.
If anyone doesn't know where that came from... the movie Sahara, based on the Clive Cussler book.

that would add some variety.
Black is an unlit color. At most you'll get a dark gray that puts out so little light.
