Thanks Guys for bringing Club 47 back, looking forward toi the new spaces.

    Just one suggestion.

Could the sound guys come up with new tracks on a regular basis. Also have the tracks play randomly, not in sequence.

Club 47 is a loved part of STO for many many people, and you have the opportunity to use the space for so much more than just a RP/Chill/visit a few times area.

    Dabo
    Dancing
    Special Nights with rewards
    Karaoke
    Group Parites
    Fleet Parties
All the Season events following themes in Club 47
    Q
    Music/showcasing new tracks
    Integrate a Live stream
Video screens with camera views of the dance floor
    lasers
    Smoke on the dance floor
    Random npc dance off
Player dance off competitions with vote interaction
    Bouncers
    The occasional scuffle
    Pretty ladies
    Pretty boys
Red alert stopping all the music for announcements, that matter such as beginning of new events
celebs appearing, such as Tuvok in Club 47

Goodness I could think of hundreds of ways to make Club 47 an integrated and interesting landscape that evolves and engages players outside of the Pew Pew.

I know its work, but honestly, you could monetise it, VIP area for Gold Subscribers, Di-Li costs for special nights, (Yes clubs charge), Costumes from Zen sore for themes nights, Spectacular Lazer shows that get better the more Di-Li is provided, I could make stuff up here again until the lights switch on and the bouncers clear the club!

You guys are doing great work, and have the opportunity to take it to the next level, like no other game out there, come on challenge laid down, can you rise to it?

Looks great TACO and co, however unless there are many and varied soundtracks I won't be visiting it much. I was disappointed for example that the same tired old tune was used on our SB disco, is it so hard to code in say 10 randomised tunes?

This probably speaks poorly of me, but sometimes I will turn the ambient sound off and play the background soundtrack to Pocket D. :o

Just wanted to put in my 2c worth and say thank you to Taco and the team, I have been looking forward to this since the old one was taken out.

It looks fab from the screen shots, and the news it will have a randomised playlist of different tracks makes for a much better ambiance. Also will allow DJ Suza to finally get off our starbase and back to work, looked out of place just stading in the corner!

Once again well done and thank you to Taco and team. :D

Everything is better now - including music. Is it possible to 1) rotate multiple melodies instead of one and 2) get the same music as was in Afterlife club from MassEffect2?

So, I think I know why ghis project is coming out "soon"! Q needs a place for his bodyguards to dance while he hangs out during the Winter Event.

So, while (unless I missed a release date) we don't know how soon is soon, I'll bet it hits at the same time as (or before) Q's Winter Wonderland.

I should point out that the KDF has their equivalent to Club 47. There is a bar (if it has a name, I've forgotten it) in First City. It's west of the Challenge Floor.

No such social niceties at New Romulus Command, however.

I would like to suggest some sort of weekend event to commemorate the grand re-opening. :D

New Romulus doesn't need one. just go visit your faction's club

    Blasphemy!

Alcoholic beverages seen on film in Star Trek. Not Synthahol, but the real thing.

    TOS: By Any Other Name
    - Scotty weighs in first, luring Tomar into a drinking tour of the Federation.

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier - Tennessee whiskey, Spock. Care for a little snort?" - Leonard McCoy

TNG: Relics - In 2369, Data served Montgomery Scott the drink of Aldebaran whiskey, although he was unsure of its characteristics beyond its color. Scotty found this beverage quite satisfying and drank most of the bottle himself, although he shared a couple of glasses with Picard.

    DS9: Prophet Motive
    - In 2371, Quark discovered an empty bottle of Aldebaran whiskey in his brother Rom's room that was taken from Quark's "private stock."

    VOY: Repression - Vulcan Port

    Oh - and this list:

    Beer
    Andorian ale
    Bajoran ale
    Breshtanti ale
    Cardassian ale
    Hazari ale
    Kesatian ale
    Michelob

Nope, full kudos for the art work - and I know each team has their own job. My point is: it's a game that needs other work. Dancing for toons and a place for game trolls to hang out? FRAK-a-doodle-doo.

Just one opinion, the voicing of which, in my thinking, is one of the reasons these forums are here, yes? Agree; disagree - couldn't care less.

so if you KNOW the environmental art team doesn't bug hunt, why are you b*tching about them not doing it?

From what I have seen the team has done great work here, and now Q will have a proper place to hold court.

I would like to be counted among others who would like dance competitions... and add Beach nights (HINT HINT)

On a related tangent, bah Humbug! Forcing good and hardworking enlisted and officers to survive on replicated fake booze. Another legacy of the Americans. If the British (and other Commonwealth nations) had their way, Starfleet would have a WET Navy!!!

well, you can always beam down to canuckland and get that horrible stuff called canadian mist (although I doubt it survived to this century) Or Mehiko and get some Tequila, which is a fitting refreshment for any good Irish girl

No problem, that was one of the main goals we had in mind. Our audio guy, Drew did a good job with this. If you're on the Disco side, you get full music. If you're in the Cantina (middle) you just get the thumping bass, as if the music is next door. And if you're in the Lounge, the music all but fades away. Should provide options for everyone.
    Stylish.

If I refuse, are you going to start a bar fight?
There are a couple of bouncers who will be happy to escort you out of the club, should it come to that.
Get Vulcans, they can't be bribed.

"Good" is subjective. However, there is new music. Several new tracks in fact. They will cycle between each other on a randomized timer. So it won't be different music each night, but hopefully will add some variety.
    Good good good.
Remember, the Federation is dry. They've got Synthehol. No one's getting drunk. . .
I dispute that, but ddesjardins did it with far more pizzaz than I was going to.

Will there be a dance scenario in it? That would be cool. Could there be a variety of music? Can you cut a deal with Pandora or something to get themed music for the time of year? How about weekly music themes? Beach, rock, hip-hop, goth, swing etc. by the week or day? Do you need a dj?

Please use a variety of graphic effects in the disco.

Reason being is that it will make a good way to trouble shoot graphic problems by having people go to the disco and explain what effects they can not see or are not appearing correctly from them.

But, will the music be any good?

I'm sure it'll all be available in the C-Store for 30,000 Zen.
Edit: Just realized in a culture where money isn't the primary driving factor, a successful club may be judged by different criteria. Getting drunk and having fun - that will never grow old ;)

This is star trek online, not Star Trek. There's nothing but money as the primary driving factor.
    Different nights, different music?

Well, for years we had the same track playing over and over, and THAT came from City of Heroes' "Pocket D Club." I don't hold out too much hope for anything very different.
Kudos on the new design. It looks great from the pictures.

Yeah. It does actually look very nice. If it all works well (doubtful based on the track record of the game), it'll be a nice distraction from all of the things in this game that are so horribly broken they need the attention of every single person at Cryptic - even the janitors.

Don't worry about cluster missions being gone, Borg encounters being broken, "upgrades" ruining equipment, threat consoles malfunctioning and drawing STACKING threat against science captains, and all of the myriad OTHER things that are serious problems in this game. By all means, waste our time with fluff.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but it's ridiculous to add this in the face of so much else going wrong.

So kudos on what looks like a great design. I don't know why, though, you didn't just put a great big hand giving us all the middle finger in the space where the club is going.

On ESD yes, what I'm saying is hopefully it wont be like that at Club 47 also. Seems like it will have its own Zone chat separated from ESD. At least thats how I take it reading the blog.

Nope, it's still part of ESD which means the same map, which means the same zone chat.

Well, I'm sorry so many of you feel that this is wasted work.
Trust me, as much as you may want a programming or systems design bug fixed, you do not want me to be the one to "fix" it. It is far better for everyone (including you) that I stick to making maps.
I hope that once open, some of you can see past your distaste. amd will take advantage of the revised Club 47.
