We will be making some changes to Carrier Pets (e.g. Peregrine Fighters, To'Duj Fighter, Klingon Bird of Prey Pets, etc.), separation pets (like a Galaxy separated saucer, MVAM Pets, and Tal’Kyr Support craft, etc.), as well as similarly related pets (like the Odyssey Work Bees, consumable device Scorpion Fighters, Gorn Healing Platform Drones, etc.). All these items are leveless items and all these pets were using incorrect data that was causing their HP, shields, damage and healing to be too high. In some cases, the sum of the players pets were far outperforming the player’s ship itself. The HP, shields, damage, healing and related values for these pets are all being reduced to scale more consistently with other player gear.
Pets that are not affected are those that deal damage based on the player, instead of independent data. Changing these pets would have no affect since they are already using player data (e.g. Andorian Wing Cannons, Avenger VATA torpedo, Bio-neural Warhead, etc.).
This change only affects pets, and not the playable versions of any of these ships (e.g. the playable Jem Hadar Attack Ship and Danube Runabout are not affected).
Here is a complete list of all pets that are affected. If a pet is missed, it is probably a mistake. Please let us know, and we will look into it.
Darn. i thought my Jem'hadar fighters where actually starting to work how they where supposed to today by not getting blown up in a stiff wind.
A Trill, a Gorn, a Jem'Hadar, Bejoran and a Voth walk into a bar, and the Bartender asks "What is this a Joke?"
"Nope, just my away team" the trill replies before ordering a round for the bar.
Pets need a buff not even more nerfing! Pets die like flies and barely plink the enemies hull and shields these days. Guess I have even less reason to choose the Vesta over other hangarless science vessels now or ever touch carriers again which move like molasses. But I guess that's the point since they're not trying to market them so much anymore....
How about you increase pet movement speed across the board, scaled directly to the nerf to their survivability?
Given things like destructable torps, and warp core breaches (which account for most pet deaths from my personal and anecdotal experience), it would make more sense.
To reiterate an earlier comment, pets will blow up if you breathe on them the wrong way. I don't even bother using them against Voth NPCs anymore.
My xindi pets and i will sob quietly in the corner
my vesta pets never live long enough to cry anyway so it will be no change for them.

'Using incorrect data' for as good as all pets?! Like all XP tables were suddenly using incorrect data?
Very saddened by this. What's even more sad, is that I'm not even surprised any more.
I kind of have to mirror some of these people's question: Why?
I know you said they're pulling incorrect data and getting boosted higher than intended, but given how utterly useless they are against any enemy that has AoE attacks due to their low health getting them killed almost instantly (on normal difficulty, never mind advanced or heaven forbid elite) and fairly low damage output already and it seems counterproductive to lower their stats.
Combat space pets really do need to be revisited, but unless this is the first step in doing that I don't see how this will be beneficial to the game in any way whatsoever.
Yes. Please continue to ruin all my fun in this game. It wasn't enough that you broke leveling and destroyed my ability to pug.
I know, they finally took one step forward again in a few matters to try and mend things with the player base, and now they go and do this to upset all carrier and separation capable ship owners who already have it far tougher than ever. I have had a great deal of patience with what they are doing to this game more so than I should, but it's becoming harder and harder to justify sticking around. I'm going to still give them a chance but this is really pushing it.
Sto doesn't need anymore input from cryptic, Time for a new developer not bound by Chinese.
It's an American franchise, and it should stay that way.
PWE turns everything into a grind -.-
Also is this true for all versions of these pets or just the elite versions?
And when you say that in some cases the pet outperformed the carrier, have you accounted for science captains deliberately hanging out of range while sending pets in to do ALL the work? Or just moving in to drop attack pattern beta and other debuffs? Some of us have specificallybuilt our carriers so our pets do more than we do. Because, when was the last time a real world carrier unloaded a broadside on an enemy ship? Or accounted for some builds being really, really bad?
As a player that mostly uses the Vo'quv a lot.. I find this disappointing as said breathing on pets the wrong way will kill em all... Maybe it's time we have 3 hanger slots to buff it? or just leave them be?
"Helm Prepare Maneuver Circle Target Alpha, Tactical Prepare BFAW3 and mash Spacebar"
Seems that all we get these days is "nerf, nerf, nerf". Have you noticed how many people are getting sick of it. All I have to say after years of playing this game is that you at cryptic must truly hate your customers. Whats next, give all enemies ships "no mater the race" sub nuc and viral matrix?

Geko strikes again! God, they really are trying to kill what little that is still good about this game. Can't have some nice pets autoleveling to 60. Instead you have to pay through the nose to upgrade them.

People are talking about how they are parsing their pets at 10k DPS. That seems a bit high to me.
While you're at it, you really need to edit the Ody so it can have the Aquarius and the chevron deployed at the same time. Since it cannot have both out at once, there is no reason ever to deploy the Aquarius.

I'm sorry to people who I, in the past, insulted, annoyed, etc.

Sarr Thein for Christmas this year.

Not just this, Plesh Brek Frigates, Elachi Oschu Shuttles, Elachi Qulash Frigates, and Kazon Raiders.
Looks like the Sarr Theln, the. Kazon Carrier, and the Sheshar Dreadnought are all on the way.

Looks like Mr. Rivera just saved himself the time of having to write a dev blog for them.

Either way, thanks for the warning.

But will we get that? I doubt it...
