Their response team will lead you to a ling to buy another program , which may or may not work but the problem is on their end we told them on tribble 6 weeks befor this was released.
They already knew it wouldn't work even before they were told on tribble, as it's the exact thing they did and needed to reverse at the start of season 9.
What's really annoying is those of us who have complained about this issue are LTS users, and dedicated to the game despite having or preferring to use controllers, yet the basically snub us by making the game unplayable for us.
Till date, I was using a logitech g13, which works in any game. It uses key strokes as actions. Guess what? It is not supported by STO, because logitech is not supported atm.
for the Devs to even acknowledge they know they broke this again, and to put it back the way it should be, or are they just going to issue a "TRIBBLE you" to players who paid $300 for a game they can no longer play because a controller is the only way they can play. For some of us a keyboard and mouse for gameplay isn't an option.
Confirmed that joystick axis mapping has still not been fixed as of the October 30 patch.
Any post by Devs acknowledging that it is a problem? Bad sign if not, because at least with the last season release when it was broken they acknowledged it was a problem to be fixed.
X-box controller still works, but it is not a very good controller for space in STO (X-box does work well for ground, especially with Pinnacle mapping software which allows for more shift-states for buttons).
another release note for tribble and not even a note about the joystick problem... we NEED to use joystick. Please, Cryptic, solve this crippling bug!!!!!
It's more important than all the other "bugs" being addressed as many players can't even play to experience these other "bugs".
You're ignoring disabled players completely this time and you knew it would be an issue when you did it because the same thing happened at the beginning of season 9.
FIX IT, you've screwed with many players including Lifetime subscriber who have been loyal to this game for years and have made it completely unplayable and unenjoyable for us.

why not spend resources on this, there are a lot of disabled gamers, and star trek ethos is all about imagining a better world (in the future), it's not a short mental leap to understand that star trek online would attract a larger share of them
eventually, in all games, where possible, disabled support will be standard, why not be an industry leader? it would build serious cred and press if handled correctly. you f2p games are all about getting your name out there. it's a clear economic decision, take it to the bank.
I know that it's not exactly a part of the main gamepad/joystick bugs, but I'd really like the gamepad space ship movements to be the same as on the keyboard
now to explain what I mean here, the keyboard WASD controls actually make the ship to turn naturally (at an angle), while gamepad's just turn the ship VERY stiff, simply turning it horizontally instead of the more natural angled turning
just wanted to mention that since it's a gamepad bug thread and I really don't think it would be difficult to implement - since it's already working for the keyb controls

Our ships used to bank while turning before they broke it the first time.... It was never correctly fixed... And now we can't play at all. This is total disrespect for those of us who need to or choose to use controllers/joysticks. 3+ weeks broken and not even a response from the devs... what a joke!

It happened last season too, took about a week for fix.

Well, first, someone at Cryptic needs to acknowledge there is a fault.
Please devs, fix that bug... it's really annoying.
Nope, once again Cryptic ignore disabled gamers.
GET THIS MAJOR ISSUE FIXED!!!!!!!

Coming back to STO if its fixed, it's dead for me until this is major issue is fixed
Could we get and update on when joystick controls will work again ?
Handicapped people are completely HELPLESS without joystick control.
Appreciated!
