That one unfortunately was the one that many of us must have stopped doing the hamster grind on our toons due to being too much work and ending up with it on the wrong toon. It is what ultimately gave us the nice system of being able to do the run on one toon for 21 days and then do token runs on our alts. The downside being that the core is probably relatively rare and still dissuades many people from buying the packs. (although I have been considering it for the DR content)
Sadly I wasn't around for that 'giveaway' and is ultimately the reason I'll be passing on those on sale. If I had 800 lobi's I know of a ship that I actually want, instead of one I'de strip for parts.

Me, too. I hope my Vesta will continue to hold its' own with an upgrade, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised at a refit of the Voyager that players can buy and fly. And I'd be tempted to buy it.

No, I do get it. If you're one of the people who believe that T5 is completely obsolete, and object to paying for the upgrade, then there's no point in buying one even on sale.
Sure, it would be lovely if they put all of the T6 ships on sale right away so you could buy one of those instead. Not like they put out a discounted bundle or anything like that. :rolleyes:
It would be lovely if they gave away ships for free. It would also be lovely if it were raining money outside right now.
The point of the sale is to encourage players to grab the ship(s) they're going to want to upgrade. Since they'll also have to pay the upgrade cost, whatever that will be, it seems a lot like double dipping for the same ship.
I'm not going to argue with the folks who feel that way. Nothing I can say will change their minds.

I predict that the upgrade token, or whatever they're calling it, will be $5. That will bring the cost of a T5U (non-fleet) to an even $30 up from $25. I don't believe that they're going to charge over $30 for a T6, so I predict that's what the cost will be.
Sure, I could be wrong. I'll eat my humble pie if that's the way it goes.

A lot of us have been giving the 500/3000 zen predictions for the last few weeks. Of course it is possible the sale now is to get folks to buy the reduced price T5 ships as less will sell once they reveal the 1000 zen price.
Vesta? Scimmy pack ? Desyon pack ? or just wait for "black friday" ?
My main is a fed sci captain that uses a Wells ship.

Fed enigineer in a exelsior

Apple, new, T6 ships are coming on the 14th. They're going to be more powerful than anything available now. Check out the link here.
Unless there's a T5 ship you really want, I'd wait. T5 is going to be a non-starter pretty soon, and it doesn't make sense to spend zen now, when much better (if uglier) ships will be out in a bit more than a week.

Maybe the Excelsior Retrofit.... other than that, I'd see if there is anything you just "have to have"... maybe a Peregrine or Delta Flyer if you do not already have... or a ship with a special console/weapon you want (I got the Tactical Escort Refit so I could strip off the quad cannons).
But yes, aside from that... I would simply wait until later this month. They're adding another expansion (with wholesale changes like LOR), including raising level cap and adding a whole new tier of ships....

Yup. Just like the Scimitar bundle stomped all over the LoR initial ship releases. A Voyager bundle will stomp all over any of the similar T6 ships.
