Same here - high ping in netgraph, lots of lag, and getting DC'd frequently.

At least it's not just me.

I am having same issue on Holodeck. DC's and Server time outs are all the rage on my pc. It is not my connection at the moment, rebooted home router and PC. "Intranetz" be working. Was going to drop a $20 to buy some dil (tired of grinding in the sweat shop for my 18 toons) wants to get toons ready for DR. But if I can not stay connected. Example be in Dyson Battle-zone ready for big Dino payout and "server not responding pops up.... Well great! Get kicked, log back in and bam in another instance that is just starting for control. At least in STFs if DC happens and you log back in as soon as possible you get same instance. Well lost revenue is not a concern for this game. LOL

Yeah im also having "disconnected" issues as well it keeps saying its internet, there is nothing wrong with my internet, I disconnected already 7 times and this seems to happen every few minutes your so. Cryptic did announce that some games will be down for maintenance and STO is not on that list at first I was like great. But now its clearly that they are wrong STO is one of those games that needs fixes.

That crazy, STO is the only game who always say is the fault of the player if the connection is bad, even if since LoR many people prove that come from cryptic cheap hardware. I find that insulting.

Anyway same for me, my connection work perfectly with Eve online, Secret World , Age of conan .... But is impossible to play STO because of the server not responding (but I'm sure is my connection or my computer the problem even if that work with other game)

*sighs* NO WHERE have I or any one else have always said "It's the players fault". We ask for network information because there is a DOZEN areas it could be not just at your isp or at cryptics.

Just saying "it's not working fix it" doesn't mean squat. What hop is not working, where is the connection having issues etc as sometimes it's right at the users isp, sometimes it's the cogent backbone and it's been sometimes just in the middle of the route.

I just came back to STO after taking a very long break. I was sick of all of the connection issues that this game has. After returning I have filed many tickets and have yet to hear anything that even makes sense at all. They keep claiming it would be my ISP but I run ALL other online games without issue and have yet to hear a single thing from a player/customer on here that says "Cryptic customer support helped me fix the issue".

When it comes to the most ignorant customer service and tech support, Cryptic takes the cake by far! And the funniest part is that their "tech support" has yet to offer anything solid in the ways of fixing the issues other than blaming the customers that keep them in business! And in all honesty you can clearly see why it is that when people see "Cryptic" attached to any game, they avoid is like the plague!

And statistically speaking, after this many years they should have accidentally fixed some of these issues that you still see today from the days of STO launch. TRIBBLE poor service is simply TRIBBLE poor service. This game launched into it and has never been pulled out of it! Sad but true!

Now I have been back for about a week and have had to deal with over 200 disconnects. I have also noticed that when I started seeing more members from fleet logging into the game is when I started dealing with the disconnection issues. IMO the issue is connected to the "Priority logging" that paid accounts get advertised. The system is booting people off when log-in increases at peak times and begins disconnecting people. I also watched the forums and noticed that when these times came around , we saw a major spike in posts about this issue and zone chats lit up with people freaking out about this.

The problems are with the "Priority logging". I would bank money on it!

Funny that you would reply with that when not one thing that has come from any of you has offered even a small amount of assistance. Not even one ounce of help at all! The servers go crazy when more people begin to log on but you write off the only thing that makes sense without a reason or alternative? In some way the priority logging will be attached to this issue. It matches the issue times and the larger complaint times. But this is just another prime example of customers trying to do Cryptics job, while Cryptic ignores the issues and writes off everything without looking into it.

Cryptic nor PWE ignore networking issues. Also be aware I'm still a player just a volunteer. When it comes down to networking issues between servers and clients the best thing IS for some network diagnostics from both sides. This means clients have to help. This isn't new, it's been done for years and it's the only true way to get help in the long run.

What help would you want from PWE or Cryptic? There is no magical "fix it" button for networking issues, it takes diagnostics, reports then a long e-mail to the backbone to say "See here is the issues now please get to work on it".

Funny smart TRIBBLE! Magical fix it button huh? How about these issues have been with the game from day one. How about the fact anyone can play any other online game without an issue but the disconnects are only when dealing with STO? How about some real attempt at answers and not some cut and paste replies? It is an amazing thing that real companies offer.... it is called... wait for it...."Customer Support"!! I know, I know.... Cryptic has people believing that it is just a myth but it is something real!! Is it asking too much for Cryptic to have a little "Customer Support"???? And about your "Magical Fix it button".... Every single person posting with this issue have also posted the information that was asked of them and still nothing has happened to help them at all. The are asking their customers to dance like a monkey for them while they have done NOTHING to address this issue.

And when everyone can play ANY other online game without issue but STO disconnects them?? THAT IS NOT AN ISP ISSUE! That is a STO issue!

Adding my own voice and displeasure to this thread.

This is a seriously annoying consistent problem. People repeatedly leave pages fully of traces and thousands of lines of information and nothing is changing.

It's all well and good having a community moderator chipping in and saying there's no magic fix, but how about someone from the people responsible for tracking down and fixing the problem coming on here and letting us know what's happening.

You've got a big update coming soon, some information on what's being done to fix this shouldn't be too difficult to provide, should it?
Star Trek Offline is currently online. We apologise for the convenience and are working to remedy the situation.

Yeah this Server Not Responding thing is crazy! The game is basically unplayable. I just loaded it up yesterday and wanted to try it but this is a really bad first impression. I haven't experienced anything like this since Star Wars Galaxies.

The dev team needs to grab a run-of-the-mill PC or laptop and do some end user testing (pretending to be Joe Blow user). Download the game, create a new account and try and play the game. They will definitely encounter this issue and then they can have all the connection data they want from both ends of the connection.

    It doesn't work that way.

This is an isolated issue I hate to say. If it was something that they were experiencing, or if a slew of people were experiencing on a regular basis then there wouldn't be a need for data but it's sporadic, and in numerous locations. Not to mention the staff is near the san fran bay area and probably all using the same ISP (or the same grouping of ISP's) so it wouldn't really say much :P

Seems the whole game is a bit crazy lately, since the last update it takes many log in attempts to actually get there. I've only returned to the game recently since a couple years out, not a lot seems to have changed but the lag and disconnects are terrible.

Not only that I found that having reached the Lt.Cmdr rank, the new ship I selected never appeared, the new personnel didn't end up on my crew list, I cant level up any of my skills except the Lt ranked ones and I've jumped instantly from Lt.Cmdr 1 to Lt.Cmdr 10. If I am doomed to play the whole game out in a starter ship with skills I can't level up, thats pretty game breaking. I sumbitted a ticket like 2 days ago, no reply outside of the automated one yet.

Also, I can't post a new thread on the forum because the account is too new...I reactivated like 2 months ago, apparently according the my log in here I've spent nil time in game, and I was last online in 1969, I guess that was just after I returned from that (Faked) moon landing business.

In addition to the problems with the Cogent Boston Hub, it looks like your problems actually start with the Comcast gateway hub to the Cogent Backbone... Looks like you need to contact the Comcast Tech Support, and ask them why you have packet loss at their gateway...

    I wouldn't....

I'll second this - I have an LTS, that would make me a priority log-in, but I'm getting hammered. In fact as of this morning I literally can't play the game for lag, SNR, and disconnects. I can - if I'm lucky - get in and maybe get a couple of DOFF missions started between SNRs and disconnects but even that's iffy.

Anything beyond that and nope, not a chance in hell of me making any progress.

I'd love to be able to point to something and say "This is the problem fix/help me fix it" but I've run all the recommended tests (Tracert, Nettest, pathping) and the first two return results that say I'm just fine, but the Nettest isn't giving me anything usable in the sense that I've run it several times (back to back even) and each and every time it gives me a different number of massively below "good" results on a random selection of ports.

I suppose I should post at least one of them anyway so...

For the record? That was the best result I got out of the Nettest. The next one had three (and the line that's suboptimal in this one was showing in the "good" ranges). The one after that had four, and once again several of those that had been showing poor results were showing good. And what the heck here's the latest.

I've no idea why the results are fluctuating so rapidly or badly. Maybe you do?

Now the 'Net Test' results indicate you have a connection quality issue of some kind, that is intermittent in nature, but as to its cause? (It be nice to have a 'Path Ping' result to look at...)
