Well they really ddint think this **** out, did they? Re-play will ONLY offer mk xiii by default. Just like mk xi is the max now via replay. Mk XIV - the new holy grail - will only be fleet and *perhaps* special requisition packs from lockboxes. Thats it.
cryptic is doing a stellar job of eroding any faith i had in the lockbox/lobi department.
all in all this past year is starting to feel like a creeper version of 'nge'.
I was all excited to use my new T5-U Romulan Dyson Reconnaissance Science Destroyer, but then I saw that it can't equip any Warbird consoles, despite the T5 one being able to and despite it basically being a Warbird. Guess you're still working on making them compatible, huh?
Regarding the new galaxy map (https://i.imgur.com/oGAsSTR.jpg) the coloured glow depicting powers seem a lot smaller and, oddly, with different borders. DS9 and Bajor is shown in Cardassian space, half of Pi Canis and most of Tau Dewa is blank, Romulan space is down to two rumps... it looks nice graphically, but as a map nut it bugs me.
The Delta Quadrant sector blocks look the same size on this, but people had said they feel bigger. Are they scaled down to look the same on the map but each sector itself is larger?
I do hope the next expansion starts filling in the gaps between these blocks so everything in alpha-beta is continuous space.
Considering that Mk-Infinity items don't go past Mk XI level anyway, they are already worse than any of the VR MK XII items already in the game now, not to mention all of the Ultra-Rare Mk XII stuff coming out of the crafting system. Moreover, as many of these items are blue-rarity, they only have 2 internal [mods] instead of the three that a VR item gets, which further reduces their utility.
I get the feeling you may not have read the full patch notes.
At least as far as Lobi Weapons are concerned, they've all been upgraded to Purple/VeryRare and many have gained additional [mod] attachments in this process. Some have benefited more than others.

Lobi Store:
All Lobi Store Ground Equipment has been updated to be more uniform in design:
---None can be sold to vendors.
---None have an EC value.
---None are Unique but players may purchase additional weapons for Bridge Crew.
---All are now Purple quality.
---Weapons may have gained one or two additional [Dmg], [CrtH] or [CrtD] mods in order to bring them up to Purple quality levels.
---Some weapons have benefited from this conversion more than others.
All leveless Lobi Store Ground and Space Equipment will now stop scaling once the player reaches level 50.
---More information will be available soon explaining how these items can bstill be viable for level 51 – 60 content.
According to the Patch Notes, the only items in the Lobi Store that were upgraded that way were Ground Items. The Mk-Infinity Space Items, such as the Temporal Warfare set, Elachi Silent Enemy set, and so on, do not appear to be included in that list, which is why I mentioned it.
So unless that is a typo, my point still stands. For example, the Chroniton Dual Beam Bank is basically a Blue Mk XI Antiproton DBB [CrtD]x2 (with the normal AP bonus replaced by the slow effect).
Can you implement a system that rewards me the little rep bits that only come from STFs for another activity? Maybe ripping out my eyelashes or having Rosanne Barr sit on me could reward them instead?
DEVS: Fix the LEVELING UP. We cannot test any level 51 or 52 content becuase we're getting only like 1000 Skill Points per mission but like 12,000 Experience. This is because you guys set skill points to be very low at level 50 as they weren't necessary anymore. If you continue to make missions like this: 2x Level 50, 2x Level 51, 2x Level 52, etc. etc., The level 51+ content will NOT be able to be tested and will be released bugged, and people won't be able to use it when it reaches holodeck!

Play it on Elite settings or do the new PvE and you will level up real quick. If you test the mission on elite settings a few times you will get a lot of points too.

FUPM!
There is going to be a way to upgrade existing gear through an upgrade mechanic that involves using a lower item+an upgrade recipe. The mechanic hasn't been posted to tribble yet but the upgrade drop has.
Gold Sub since March 2010

I see it more as putting all the gear on the same page and streamlining the gear into the same leveling process above 50.
(The crafting systems you mention were so totally different as I crafted up a person in 3 days on the old system to max level prior to conversion for the accolade. This new system is a totally different beast and takes more time to level [2 weeks to level 9 so far in one category.] It would not have been fair to even compare the two let alone give someone crafting kudos beyond what they did.)
I think this is all for the better and will make the game more solid and make sense where things didn't before. Incidentally, the new rep gear for the delta rep is all mk xii so I'm assuming at this point to get higher level it will need upgraded as well or they aren't finished with it yet.
I'm gonna reserve judgment on that until the upgrade mechanic is revealed, but I agree with your assessment.
It could actually work out better if the upgrade cost is internal to the game not requiring lobi or zen (i.e. real money).
here I go, get me some mark infinity gear to help me out until I get to level 60... nope not anymore, gotta pay to get it to scale again... this is very much all my sadness
Struck me as a bit odd as well...I know the KDF is in the Beta Quadrant, but shouldn't the majority of Fed space be in the Alpha Quadrant? =P
I tend to go by the supplementals and by Star Charts and just about every map I've ever sen published Klingon Space is almost completely in the Beta Quadrant. Cardassian Space is entirely in the Alpha Quadrant as is Breen, Ferengi, and Tzenkethi. Romulan Space is completely in the Beta Quadrant, and Federation space is partly in the Beta Quadrant in the spaces not occupied by the Romulans and Klingons a little bit out past them with a sliver of space between them, but a large part of it is in the Alpha Quadrant.
Also keep in mind that Star Trek Online deals very much with the Core Worlds section of the Federation Space. The area covered in Enterprise and The Original Series. Federation Space goes WAY out past what we see. If you were to say fly to Cestus and the Mutara Nebula without the Transwarp Conduit it is like three Sirius sector Blocks beneath Eta Eridani to get there. And there is MORE Federation space out beyond that on both the Alpha and Beta quadrant Space. 8000 light years across. It might be fifty to a hundred light years from the top of Romulan space to the bottom of Eta Eridani. Canonically a sector is a cube with sides 20 light years long.

Can you implement a system that rewards me the little rep bits that only come from STFs for another activity?
They had this same thing way back before LoR was released, but they changed it to the rep system as a way of making it fairer for everybody to get the gear. In case you're wondering, the way in which the Advanced and Prototype Tech was rewarded was random chance - some would get a piece of Tech practically every STF, others would go weeks and months between getting Tech (and that was doing Normal STFs).

So do you see why it was changed?
They may return to that style yet though. Recall how the remastered Undine episodes actually rewarded Undine Rep. I've been hoping that was a taste of things to come.

The "All leveless Lobi Store Ground and Space Equipment will now stop scaling once the player reaches level 50." seems like a low blow. If these weren't intended to scale beyond level 50, then they shouldn't have been levelless. You guys deserve the fall out that is going to come from that as those items can be very expensive to obtain.

What about the mines that do half the damage of none lobi mines making them rather pointless to use? The Apex mines and Apex set gun have such low damage they should be free not something to spend lobi on.
At least as far as Lobi Weapons are concerned, they've all been upgraded to Purple/VeryRare and many have gained additional [mod] attachments in this process. Some have benefited more than others.
are they still infinity level?
or have they now retroactively been assigned an obsolete mk value to generate sales of new items?
ANOTHER reputation? Really? After we were limited to using only a certain number of traits that we spent so much time, money, and work to get, now you want us to spend even more time, money, and work to earn even more traits that we can't use?
you'll get one extra trait slot set at level 60 as far as i know.
why are you even getting angry at this? you don't have to do it if you don't want the 50k dilithium, 750 marks and other goodies reward, but some people will definitely want it.
Now clowns, that's another story. They scare the crap out of me.
We fight them too. Entire armies spilling out of Volkswagens.
We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending them in.
oh well, too bad then. ignore traits, do the reps for dilithium and marks, or new gear. or just don't do them, reputations are optional like pvp, you don't need to do it if you don't want to.
don't be a crybaby who has a problem with everything.

My reaction to this is simple, and I am fairly certain it will be a mostly the concensus of the large portion of the community who even invested in lobi. I got the items because they were levelless and competitive. If and when you gate that to only 1-50 it will be the last time I invest in lobi. Levelless is as advertised, It levels with you, not stops at some random point. And let me see some cost more then ec to upgrade the item, that essentially cost real money, unless you saved lobi from events constantly for awhile. Either method of obtaining lobi is costing the player something...and now your gating that?! I warn cryptic on this one topic, this will cause flames. I tended to like the lobi gear as it was, I was happy about the upgrade to purple, I am furious about it being gated at 50, I will be enraged if there is a sudden tac on cost to upgrade to keep them competitive! Thats all I have to say about that.
As far as ships go, I've been waiting for the release of the t6 on tribble for awhile now, to say nothing of the t5u ships getting done. I think not adding a console to fleet ships is idiotic, why then would I pay the zen to upgrade it...passive skills that arn't even that strong?! T6 should also get one extra console slot. t5-9, t5.5-10, t5u-11, t6-12. If I'm going to pay money for these ships I want them to be the best of the best! Is that elitist? maybe. is it how this game has always gone? yes!
Skill point value earned per mission. again voicing my opinion that the awarded sp ahould be equal to however many missions it takes at a specific level. eg: 2 missions at 50 should equal half a level each in sp. 4 missions at 55 should give a quarter of a level each, and there should be at least 1 or 2 per each level. I'm sorry if that make it seem like leveling up is fast but that is far better then having to repeat a mission 55 times just to make 1 level! More over it looks like players are earning what they should in sp in expertice instead. half and half at most! the sp and expertise should be the same, always, except for replays.
Delta quadrent reputation...Unless you are planning to tac on DQ-marks to all of the missions and or other things to do in the DQ I dont see this being very productive. All we know about is one qeuee thus far. I'm sure there a coupple more in the works, Is there like 7 or 8? Please do not release more reputations unless there is an abundant way to earn marks like with dyson and undine. I hope to see many battlezones this time both ground and space given the nature of the dq.
Given the size of the quadrent and wealth of information you have about it I feel that a 2 sector map is very tiny. when I heard about this I expected a map riveling the main beta quadrent map, how disapointed I was to see only 2 enlongated swatches of sector space. Everything feels jumbled together. I hope this is only the begining and it will expand vastly in a future update.
Cryptic, you are on the right track and props for all you've done up to this point. I think with some fine tuning this expansion will feel more like a true expansion rather than a seasonal update.
Umm has anyone else noticed that All the Alpha quadrant systems are now in the beta quadrant?
Lol yeah in the shows they prattle about how important the fate of the Alpha Quadrant is to every single one of the factions and what do we see now? All three factions are in the Beta Quadrant mostly, roflmao!:D
Ok, i have all 9 lobi guns, and 6 lobi consoles, that is almost 2000 lobi.
Epic news, not only that they will stop scaling but i wont even get EC if i vendor trash them
I hope you guys have something good for them that doesnt involves me spending more $$$
I have all Lobi guns, all Lobi armors, upgraded Jem Hadar (both space and ground), one console and two space weapons.
I even have some ground lobi gear several times, becuase I'm an altoholic, and now you're saying that all of them will be not scaled up to max level, even though they have the Infitine rank?
That seems like a huge ripoff for someone who got lifetime sub AND spent 200k+ Zen in the game to support it.
Like it's not enough that Lobi gear isn't account bound, but now it's also going to be less viable option in new content?
Hell, atleast make it all account bound if you're going to do this......... Costumes included (zen costumes are also account wide, so why not lobi? Makes no sense)
It's bound to character to begin with, now it's worthless to sell and I'll end up just having it in bank, taking space for nostalgia reasons or what?
Well apparently something in this patch bugged KDF uniform slots again, 5 slots that are working on Holodeck are not working in the latest patch.
edit...noticed that I was unable to purchase the Advanced Voth fighters from Dilith store even though I was in a Voth Bastion at the time and had plenty of Dilith to purchase them.

1) dont blow your top until they give full details, THEN feel free to blow your top
2) the lobi costumes arent accnt bound because you can sell them
3) lobi is a consolation prize for DOFF promos and lockboxes, you cant think of them as equal to zen, but rather more like dilithium or EC
