After the recent developments, take everything in the OP, and multiply it by a factor of 10. :(

A lot who claim to leave end up sticking around the forums. Usually to rant and complain.

This is not what Solace is doing, just stating what most "I QUIT" ragers do.

That's what I did when the Mass Effect 3 ending sucked. :D Eventually I grew tired of ranting on BioWare's forums and left after a few months.

I don't get all the timers.

I mean, yah, if you can only do a rep per 20h or an STF every 45mins. Only once per day can you tag epohhs, I understand the cooldown.

But if I drop 50 marks for some dili or 15k dili for a rep torpedo, why do I have a cooldown timer before I can collect it?

Crafting is the same way ~ bonus xp taking 20h is one thing. But I've already spent a variable amount of time playing and gathering resources to make that MkXII torpedo, why do I have to wait another day just to collect it?

Everything is based around waiting now.

This is literally the biggest problem with the game right now. Doffing, Crafting, Queued missions, Reputation, Starbases, literally everything is based around waiting. Sure everyone complains about Grinding, but we aren't even grinding anymore! This is what Star Trek Online is now. Watching a clock. All we're doing is waiting for a timer to tick down.

    Boffs have been forsaken.

    .....

I really, really hope that E2 is worth it.

I'm surprised at your post. I know in the past I thowas extremely harsh and I was called a troll and jerk. Some things has come to past that I mentioned and I have more speculations which isn't good for players. I'm thinking Season 10 will be another reputation system and grindfest for a new fleet holding.

Now that top of the line fleet ships will be seconds best to T6 ships. Isn't fleet ships suppose to be the best of the best?

Anyway, I will not continue my hating of Cryptic. I have to be careful. I was banned for two weeks after the last "lol. are they serious?" line about one of the blogs.

It's an opinion I've held for quite some time. I can't believe you were actually banned. I can guarantee I've said worse.

Course, then there are the people that are all "Dur hur hur solace if you don't like it why are you still here?" Well I'll tell you why ******nit. It's because I care about this game, it's community, the franchise, (most of) the developers, and my favorite ships. I've been completely unwilling to play the game but I still visit the forums because I know the devs are a talented group of people who are more than capable of making a good MMO, the best MMO even.

I've been so hard on them lately because I know they are good at what they can do and I know they are better than this.

I dunno. Maybe Voporak was right.

THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING!!

Most of you claiming "I quit" you know you will be back.

Maybe take a break for a couple months... sounds like plain ol I play to much burn out.

As far as content.. those missions that were hard were do to lack of gear/power. As power creep goes up content gets weaker. This happens in EVERY mmo. The only thing you can fault STO for is they have not increased content to keep up with power creep. This they say is going to change with the expansion.

As far as time gating.. Attunement for raids in = time gate, low drop rate of mats for crafting = time gate. Making content to hard for standard gear so you have to farm instance after instance to get gear = time gate. MMO's are about time gates.. nothing new.

    I have to say...

It's not that I quit. I'm not quitting.

It's that I just am not very enthusiastic. I don't really care about staying competitive all that much. I login and do crafting every few days if I feel like it.

I'm honestly not inclined to spend money on any of the money sinks being discussed or to really bother with dilithium or quality gearing.

I feel pretty disconnected. Not angry. Not even really disappointed. If the servers went down tomorrow (and they won't but if they did), my only concern would be for keeping in touch with a few friends I've made here and that the developers would land on their feet okay.

I'll play the story missions and maybe adventure zones if I'm bored but the Delta Quadrant concept doesn't grab me aside from the Krenim and maybe the Cooperative. The systems stuff seems like a muddled design to me. Don't care about keeping up with gear or getting a T6 ship as opposed to T5U, regardless of how upgraded it is. The Intrepid interior might be cool. I might be onboard with a Krenim lockbox if it provides synergy with existing timeships.

We're really deep into parts of Star Trek that don't excite me. It's not even that I dislike Voyager. I like the characters. It's just that the series being set in the Delta Quadrant rarely excited me.

The theme doesn't grab me and neither does a personal power increase or staying competitive. I'm in this mainly for missions and voiceover. I'd like to give Cryptic money but the things they're charging for aren't things I'd be willing to pay for and the things I'd pay for, they aren't selling.

Please reconsider ARC. Please make it optional, at the least. PLEASE.
It seems the vast majority of your most active players (forum regulars) hate the idea... and while that's a small subset of the playerbase, I think it's an important constituency.
THE PLAYERS DO NOT WANT THIS.

I think this is the best way to describe it. I simply don't care anymore.

Speaking of keeping in touch with friends on here, I can be found here if anyone is interested. Just let me know who you are first.

Not very enthusiastic you only play 2/3s of all content 8 hours a day instead of 12?

    That will sure teach them...

Way I see it, after expansion you can still fly into the top map in the game, in your old t5.

Chances are eSTF will remain the source of gameplay and in-come with other maps dying out soon enough.

As much as I am not down with anything from t6 I heard so far, the game hasn't changed as I see it - which yeah sure isn't necessarily a good thing.

The biggest joke for me personally so far is upgrades being all passives with no animations.
We will see about "space traits" but if those have no animations either or high cooldowns I am ready to write off the entire expansion.

looks like the doom thread are turning out to be correct.

the game is dying, people are leaving in droves. If you thought season 9 had a mass exodus, X2 will be double that.

look likes i will find a true open world pvp game

Pathfinder might be what you're looking for, though it's fantasy.
    Leave nerfing to the professionals.
