I think 'boggling' may be a more accurate description of such a meeting :D

You could even say it'd have a 'rocky' start. :D

    Sorry...

    @ryan - SHAME ON YOU!

@aten66 - Well, that answers what could happen when the Captains get switched clandestinely. I don't think it would ever work *because* of the camaraderie between crew and Captain - especially when there are more personal ties involved. Nice try MU, bt FAIL. On a side note (not that I have tried), but how did you get the Omega symbol in your post?

Fail indeed. Now to answer your second question...

*Goes to Fancy Library located in intricate mansion*

    Ahh, here it is!

*Returns to type what is currently being written and ending with this period.*

Now, this is the intricate part here, you must follow my steps carefully....

    Steps:
    1.Type Omega into search engine.
2.Look for Wikipedia post on Omega.
    3. Copy and Paste this sentence. "Omega (capital: Ω, lowercase: ω; Greek Ωμέγα)"

*Or alternatively while quoting, copy the last character of the quote* Edit: *Also ignore all these rules if you quote, they were merely written because I had the time to be funny*

    Ω

Well, the "movie night" prompt put an idea in my head, and I've developed it.

(I'm influenced, of course, by who I've got available - Tylha, Ronnie, Rrueo and R'j are all sort of busy right now, and the secretive T'Laihhae wouldn't want to appear on film. But I have one character who's at a loose end, and who would jump at the idea... for her own purposes.)

Small virtual cookie to anyone who spots the Damon Runyon reference, by the way. :D

Looking for a little input. In one of the stories I'm currently writing, the Bedford may well be lost; however, by the end Drake will also believe that he owes Grunt a favor, and will make sure the paperwork for a replacement ship goes through without a hitch.

Question: Do you think it would work better for Grunt to take command of the Nebula-refit USS Ferenginar, or the old Risian cruise liner refit by Section 31 into a luxury warship, the RXS Latinum Princess?

@ jonsills - Nebula. the Risan cruiser is ... well ... goofy. I have YET to see one in the game btw (not that I'm playing all day).

@masopw - Let us know when you are finished with second entry.

My personal feeling? Grunt deserves a Risian luxury cruiser.

I look forward to the scene where the Borg attack before it's fully refitted, and he has to fight them off using only cocktail umbrellas and deck quoits.

I'll second the vote for the Nebula as Grunt's next command.

Had technical difficulties this weekend, so couldn't get the second tale finished...and couldn't meet other authors on Risa on the 27th. D'oh x2!!!

Of course, if you want to read the first part of the tale, I won't go back and change it...it's just much easier to write these things on multiple platforms when using the forum as free storage!:D

Oh, you do not want to see Shelana fighting with a quoit!

    Things could get... messy.

    Aye!

Shevet: Excellent piece. Shalo's got so much more...self-control...than certain hate-fueled women we could mention, doesn't she?

Very intricate, creepy, psychologically-nasty, vicious vendetta. It actually creeps me out MORE than D'trel's bouts of homocidal rage towards Tal Shiar and Iconian servitors. D'trel wouldn't have the simmering viciousness to pull off such an intricate plan; she'd just kill the object of her vendetta and anyone who got in her way. Shalo's patience, cunning, willingness to come up with something really nasty...

That's scary. REALLY scary. And if I were her therapist/resident telepath, I'd be alerting the authorities. That's a "V for Vendetta" level of psychological and physical torture, combined with a couple of what I presume are breaches of regulations.

    Well done!

I think I do. I write an emotionally-wrecked killer who's barely hanging on to her sanity after running on hate for decades, a psychopath who kills people casually and brutally (and intricately and brutally), and a Lethean who can make people fry their own brain stems with their own bioelectricity.

Shelana with a quoit would be like Three on a simple search-and-destroy mission. Some gore, but nothing intricate. Written properly (think that piece "The Accord" that I did that had Three fighting), it could be really fun.

And if you had Grunt and crew do, say, "Viscous Cycle" or "Undine Infiltration"...

Yeah. That could be fun, especially the post hoc therapy for everyone involved. Or at least Cmndr. Shelana and anyone within visual range of her.

    Nebula... For this reason:

A Ferengi in a luxury warship? How boringly stereotypical... Grunt may be a Pimp, but he's way above s**t like that...

I agree...I think Grunt is far more practical than that. And I would hope his officers would have more pride in the quality of the work they do, than to not be upset with Grunt for stupidly choosing a pleasure cruise ship over a bona fide military vessel.

It's worth pointing out, by the by, that the luxury liner is a very nice ship, considered purely as a combat vessel. Tylha had a stack of pearls left over from last year (I rather enjoy the floater mini-game, you see), so she got to be an early adopter - kitted out with a decent set of gear, the cruiser is tough, fast and agile.

I've been trying to get a Gal-X dreadnought up to standard over on Ronnie (Ronnie's complicated backstory is largely down to me wanting one character who had all the different versions of the Enterprise), and have had a chance to make a comparison - at the moment, Tylha's luxury liner is about 10% tougher, in shields and hull, than Ronnie's dreadnought, while being considerably faster, having better bridge officer seating, and having more than double the turn rate.

So... Grunt could probably do some serious damage in one of those things. Being Grunt, he could probably also do some serious damage to one of those things, but I leave that matter in @JonSills's capable hands. :D

Well jonsills, it seems the party is split on the issue. Good luck, I'll accept either choice in the end because your writing is solid enough to handle either choice :)

    Bring it.

@shevet - That was brilliant! Although I was a little surprised to read Shalo use a human colloquialism (red hearing), but that's just nitpicky.

Another story, hope it at least makes sense. There is a short part that I cut from the beginning.

(OOC, I was a Petty Officer, Second Class in the US Navy. One of the ships in our CVBG was the RKT. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Richmond_K._Turner_%28CG-20%29)

@shevet: Awesome battle, and an excellent story! Deltan tantric specialists...I immediately remembered Sulu & Chekov's reactions when they learned a Deltan would be on the bridge!:D

@icerose20: an interesting tale! Good wordplay. If I have one nit, it's channeling a character from another franchise and using the character's name: I'd prefer a different name, since the dialog was so spot on it took me out of Trek at times. (For your OOC...I'm guessing you were with the Engineering Department? After all...only place where yelling out ChEng won't result in a hit for racial intolerance...;) )

@masopw= I agree that it that I should have done name change. I sat on the story for 2 weeks, for that reason and for trying to cut it down. Probably will when I come up with a suitable name, just sometimes a name invokes and idea do vivid, its hard to change it.

Yes, i was in engineering, an electrician, went through part of the nuclear power program when it was down in Orlando.

    (changes)
and inspiration for the name change hit me while doing the morning ritual. Harper is now Karter, same loveable personality. Remeber, its Karter with a K, not a C.

    and forgot.

Rose O'Connell/Icerose voiced by Patricia Tillman.
    Rehara Voiced by Lexa Doig
    Reigun Voiced by Trevor Goddard
Nelen Exil Voiced by Bill Mumy as Lennier.
AI Karter voiced by Gordon Michael Woolvett.

Had a decent idea for the first prompt. I decided to run it as a day in the limelight piece for Eleya's security officer, Dul'krah, Clan Korekh.

Can't see the Movie Night working for me, though. Eleya and Morgan, as serving combat officers, have this irrational dislike for being interfered with by unqualified civilians, and Brokosh would probably have Ila'kshath eat them.*

    * Actually, that wouldn't happen; Ila'kshath is an eight-foot-tall scaly teddy bear. More likely Meromi would get pissed off at them and start using their equipment for martial arts practice.
